Rose M. 'Boots' Nicklin
Rose M. "Boots" Nicklin, 64, of Aurora passed away Monday, July 5, 2004, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, her family by her bedside. She was born May 19, 1940, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of the late Theodore and Bonnie (Porter) Perko.
Rose was employed by Jewel Food Stores in the Naperville area for 34 years. She married
Billy G. Nicklin on Feb. 12, 1957.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Billy G. Nicklin; three children, Terry (husband Alan) Ginger of Marseilles, Ricky (wife Beverly) Nicklin of Plainfield and Peggy (husband Dennis) Kwosek of Oswego; six grandchildren, Becky and Kevin Kwosek of Oswego, Tracy, Nikki and Joey Nicklin of Plainfield and Sgt. Corey Ginger, serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq; a step-grandson, Eric Ginger of Naperville; a great-granddaughter, Zailey Rose Ginger of Marseilles; five sisters, Janet (husband Don) Ackerman of Nevada, Sister Rose (Jackie) Anthony of Kansas, Dorothy, Theo and Dede of Colorado; several nieces and nephews; and her two favorite dogs, Boomer and Dillon.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Danny Perko; two sisters, Patty and Bonnie; and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Frye officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the Rush-Copley Cancer Care Center in Aurora.
James P. 'Jim' Whittles
James P. "Jim" Whittles, 57, of Naperville, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born March 14, 1947, in Pana.
He finished high school in Earlville and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1970 with an accounting degree. He had been a Naperville resident for more than 30 years and worked for Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies for 32 years; however, his passion was art. Throughout his life, he was an active member of his churches, serving as financial chairman and treasurer and singing bass in the church choirs. He also participated in his children's plays and activities. He served as treasurer for the Naperville Little League and was a member of the Naperville Jaycees. He was the consummate family man and would do anything for his family, which gave him great joy. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, traveling, woodworking and photography.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela "Pam"; children, Philip Whittles of Romeoville, Michelle "Miki" (husband Brad) Shelton of Studio City, Calif., and Katherine "Katie" Whittles of Naperville; his grandchildren, Miranda Whittles Shelton and Noah Bradford Shelton; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Fouts of Pekin; his sisters, Edana (husband Paul) Lewis of Aurora and Jacqueline McGrath of Florida; his mother-in-law, Pearl Thoman of Naperville; a sister-in-law, Rebecca (husband William) Ward of Lenexa, Kan.; brothers-in-law, Mark (wife Jaci) Thoman of Downers Grove, Bruce (wife Janice) Thoman of Lebanon, Ohio, and Gary (wife Shirley) Thoman of Spokane, Wash.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Whittles; sisters, Freda Frye and Dorothy Whittles; and his father-in-law, Harold D. Thoman.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 21 E. Franklin St., Naperville.
Interment will be private at Clarendon Hills cemetery in Darien.
Becki Hector
Jessica Hector Two precious lives, that of a mother and daughter, were taken abruptly in a tragic car accident on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. Lifetime residents of Hinsdale, Becki and Jessica Hector will be remembered by family and friends as full of life, love and laughter.
Becki, 52, is survived by her loving husband, Larry Hector; and special son and daughter, Spencer and Abigail; siblings, Claudia, Debbie, Lisa and Karl; and parents, Lou and Suzanne Zimmel. Becki was a compassionate mom, adoring wife and friend to all. She dedicated herself to helping others in both her professional and personal life. Her joyful spirit will always be remembered and forever keep us young at heart.
Jessica, 21, a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, was due to complete her senior year at the University of Iowa. She had recently returned from a semester in Spain, where she studied the language, as well as journalism. It is devastating to see such a promising life come to an end before ever reaching its true potential. She will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched, a list that will continue to grow through those who survived and loved her.
A visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Elliston Funeral Home, 60 Grant St., Hinsdale.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home.

Brenton Paige Hirsch
Brenton Paige Hirsch, 78, of Oswego passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a short battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 30, 1926.
He was an active member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church. His faith and his church were paramount in his life.
His career included 25 years with O'Brien Paint Co. of South Bend, Ind., as well as many years with Central Can Co. of Chicago. In later years, he enjoyed being self-employed in the transportation industry.
His main passion in life was singing. He started at age 12 in a boys choir and continued in choruses, a cappella, operettas and church choirs up until the time of his death.
He was a very distinguished member of the Naperville Men's Glee Club and the Naperville Community Chorus for many years, performing locally and nationally.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in the Philippine Islands during World War II.
In his youth, he was an accomplished pole-vaulter and track star. He always had a deep love for the game of golf. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Jane, at their Michigan "retreat" and loved to drive his convertible. He was a caring and giving father and grandfather who always put his family first. He never met a stranger and touched all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jane; five children, Tom Hirsch of Mishawaka, Ind., Lynne Hirsch of Bonita Springs, Fla., Denise (husband Larry) Vana of Yorkville, Michelle Hirsch of Lombard and Lisa (husband Larry) Ottley of Downers Grove; two stepchildren, Jennifer Aguilar of Oswego and Jeannine Fancher of San Antonio; and four siblings, Paul Hirsch, Donna Leniski, Joyce Keller and Carolyn Umbaugh.
He was a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also was a special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marie Hirsch, and two grandsons, Matthew Palmatier and Kevin Hiltenbrand.
A musical celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, in the Ministry Center of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 30 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville, immediately followed by a time of fellowship.

Ona Orlovas
Ona Orlovas, 90, of Naperville and formerly of West Toluca Lake, Calif., for 40 years, died Saturday, July 31, 2004. She was born July 7, 1914.
She loved gardening and was a longtime member of SPCA, a stray animal organization in California.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan; daughter, Ann (husband Raymond) Bikulcius of Naperville; three grandchildren, Raymond (wife Katie), Darius (wife Erika) and Andrew; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and William.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Procopius Abbey, in the chapel, 5601 College Road, Lisle.

Mildred Z. (Zigulich) Ziganto
Mildred Z. (Zigulich) Ziganto, 95, a resident of Naperville since 1984 and formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Tabor Hills Healthcare Center in Naperville. She was born Jan. 8, 1909, in Yugoslavia.
Mildred was a longtime resident of the Charles Court apartments in Naperville.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Maureen (husband Jim) O'Hara of Naperville and John Higgins of Naperville; two great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Katie O'Hara; a son-in-law, John "Jack" (wife Sharon) Higgins of Naperville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolo Ziganto; her parents, Joseph and Anna Zigulich; and a daughter, Mary Higgins.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be at St. Mary cemetery in Evergreen Park.

Ryan W. Parker
Ryan W. Parker, 25, of Naperville, was called home to God's care on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. He died as a result of injuries suffered from an accidental fall. He was born Aug. 29, 1978, in Aurora, the son of Welby and Dianna (Hartman) Parker.
Ryan provided all who knew him with so many wonderful memories. His passions in life were playing pool, dancing, spending time with his friends and his love of the Chicago Cubs. His final day on earth was spent in rooftop seats at Wrigley Field enjoying a Cubs victory.
Ryan left behind a large circle of friends, including his mother, Dianna Parker of Naperville, and her fiance, Patrick Murphy; his father, Welby (wife Kasha) Parker of Naperville; a sister, Danielle (husband Jeremy) Abel of Oswego; his devoted girlfriend, Carly Houston of Aurora; his maternal grandfather, Sterling Hartman of Aurora; his paternal grandparents, Welby F. and Margaret Parker Sr. of Aurora; his aunts and uncles, Traci (husband Matt) Perez of Aurora, Connie and Sotiris Nacopolous of Lombard and Randy Hartman of Montgomery; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Arlene Hartman.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Miller officiating.
Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery in Aurora.

Patrick Ryan Holbrook
Patrick Ryan Holbrook, 10, died suddenly Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was born Feb. 23, 1994, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Patrick attended Ranchview Elementary School in Naperville and played the tuba in the school band. He was very active in sports and played in Little League baseball and was on the offensive line for the Naperville Youth Football League Redskins. In addition to his musical and sports talents, Patrick also had a natural instinct of becoming everyone's friend.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Maureen Holbrook, and his wonderful sister and brothers, Erin, Sean, Kevin and Brian Holbrook, all of Naperville. In addition, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Tyrrell and his paternal grandmother, Elaine Duggan; numerous aunts and uncles, Ann (husband David) Berndes, Rita (husband Bill) Vahle, Mary Ellen (husband Tim) Neuman, Jacqueline (husband Nathan) Neer, Bill (wife Christine) Holbrook, John (wife Sheila) Duggan, Thomas (wife Laura) Duggan, Matthew (wife Lori) Duggan, Grace (husband Ronald) Roszel and Kathleen (husband Joseph) Kripp; as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving father, Daniel J. Holbrook, in 1999; his paternal grandfather, William C. Holbrook; his maternal grandfather, Harold Tyrrell; and his paternal step-grandfather, John B. Duggan.

Mr. Patterson was retired from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission at Argonne National Laboratories. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Naperville.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Duffy Patterson (McCormick); seven children, Mary Kay (husband Armand) Andreoni, James J.
