Stephanie Jo McKinley
Stephanie Jo McKinley, 39, of Naperville died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1965, in Bloomington.
She was a 1985 graduate of Olathe South High School in Olathe, Kan. She received an associate's degree in education from College of DuPage and worked as a teacher aide at several daycare centers.
She is survived by her parents, William and Jean (Bachman) McKinley of Naperville, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Nicholas, and a sister, Tammy.
A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 24021 W. Royal Worlington Drive at Route 59, Naperville, and proceed to a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Drive, Naperville.
Interment will take place at St. Mary's cemetery in Metamora.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.

Frederick B. 'Fred' Korb
Frederick B. "Fred" Korb, 63, of Naperville died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Chicago.
He served in the Air Force and was retired from Tellabs after 15 years of service. He was a member and former secretary of the Old Time Radio Collectors and Traders Society, "ORCATS," and was a ham radio operator.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two children, Rebecca (husband Karl) Darley of Joliet and Frederick B. (wife Jennifer) Korb III of Plainfield; eight grandchildren, Cassondra, Dannielle, Mariah, Jedidiah and Ciara Lafond, and Frederick IV "Dereck," Jacqueline and Natalie Korb; a brother, James (wife Diane M.) Korb of Ramona, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Sr. and Helen; and a sister, JoAnn Miller.
Visitation will take place from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Inurnment will be at Bohemian National cemetery in Chicago.

Patricia J. Ray
Patricia J. (Pesch) Ray, 83, a resident of Naperville since 1983 and formerly of Downers Grove, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at ManorCare Health Services in Naperville. She was born March 17, 1921, in Chicago.
She grew up in Downers Grove, attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and was a 1939 graduate of Downers Grove High School. She was employed by Downers Grove School District 99 for many years. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downers Grove and its Women's Guild and had been a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Naperville. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to play cards and games.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Ray of Naperville, whom she married
Nov. 29, 1941; three children, Michael D. (wife Mary) Ray of Abiquiu, N.M., Peggy Stump of Naperville, and Barbara (husband Kevin) Bikus of Andover, Kan.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew and Christopher Stump, and Matthew, Zachary and Joshua Bikus; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Stump and Rachael Buckner; a brother, Henry (wife Cindy) Pesch of Houston; a sister, Mary Ellen (husband Richard) Goldberg of Morrison, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ethel Pesch; and a sister, Ann O'Connell.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Daniel Morgan Duty Jr.
Daniel Morgan Duty Jr., a 30-year resident of Naperville, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, in Naperville. He was born in Clintwood, Va.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Wiemann); his sons, Daniel and Douglas Duty; and his best friend, Lucy the hound.
Daniel was an avid walker, reader and patron of the Nichols Library, Naperville. He worked for NASA and also Lucent Technologies and retired in 1999.

Margaret Nolan Fava
Margaret Nolan Fava, 58, of Batavia and formerly of Naperville, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at home. She was born April 23, 1946, in Rochdale, England.
She immigrated to the United States in 1964. She was the former co-owner of American Floors of Naperville and American Heritage Flooring in Batavia. She was a member of Batavia United Methodist Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Auxiliary. She was a beloved wife, mother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Fava; a son, William Nolan III of Aurora; a daughter, Carolyn M. Nolan of Aurora; and a sister, Dorothy Miolovic of New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. Nolan Jr.; a son, John C. Nolan; her parents, Robert and Lilian Smith; and a brother, Robert Smith.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Mary E. Ford
Mary E. (Courtney) Ford, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at her home in Wheaton. She was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Chicago.
Mary grew up on the west side of Chicago and was a graduate of Providence High School. On June 25, 1938, she married
William J. Ford at St. Mel's Parish in Chicago.
She is survived by seven children, William (wife Sheila) Ford, Mary Beth (husband Dr. Thomas) Hawkins, Joan (husband Dr. Edward) Hogan, Kathleen (husband Dennis) Chapman, Denise Wolf, Barbara Shor and Kimberly (husband Owen) Sullivan; 24 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and her parents, Timothy and Elizabeth Courtney.
Visitation will take place from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Williams Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton.
A service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home and will proceed to St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., followed by entombment at Assumption Mausoleum.

Zoe Kelly Casey
Zoe Kelly Casey, born June 21, 2004, the beloved daughter of John Casey and Sara Kelly, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004.
In her brief time, Zoe taught everyone who met her about love, life and humility. Her name, which means life, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who came to know her.

Harold L. Cleal
Harold L. Cleal, 79, a resident of Naperville for 35 years, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born March 1, 1925, in Ainsworth, Neb.
He was a 1942 graduate of Johnston High School in Johnston, Neb. He received his BS degree in agriculture from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, class of 1949, and MS in journalism from Iowa State University in 1951. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946, based in Hawaii. He was a member of Naperville Country Club since 1966. He retired in 1994 from Material Service Corp., where he was involved in land management.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley (nee Hamel), whom he married
May 6, 1955; three sons, Charles (wife Darlene) of Ainsworth, Scott (wife Deborah) of Naperville and Jon (wife Angela) of Lincoln; two daughters, Marianne (husband Darrel) Mook of Orange, Calif., and Janet (husband Larry) Bock of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Cleal, Michael, Crystal and Danielle Mook, Diana, Shara and Brandi Bock, Valerie, Brittany and Shannon Cleal, and Tania and Dennis Fendrich; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Geneva (nee Baker).

Delores "Dee" Coyne
Delores "Dee" Coyne, 72, of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004. She was surrounded by her family.
Born in Tampico on May 11, 1932, to Rea and Myrtle Hughes, she moved to Aurora and was a graduate of West Aurora High School, class of 1950. In August of 1953, she married
Cornelius "Neil" Coyne and relocated to Maryland. Throughout their 51 years of marriage, they resided in Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri, New Jersey and Ohio, before retiring in Lawrenceville, Ga.
She is survived by her husband and their three children, Kathleen (husband Gary) Boyer of Old Mines, Mo., Kitty (husband Tom) Hudak of Rochester, N.Y., and Connie (husband John) Grady of Lawrenceville, Ga.; as well as four grandchildren, Tina and Mariah Boyer and Derek Sorkin Grady and Maureen Grady. She is also survived by her mother, Myrtle Hughes of Independence, Mo.; her brothers, Richard Hughes of Blue Springs, Mo., and Charles Hughes of Richardson, Texas; and a sister, Donna Ruggles of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hughes; her father, Royal Rea Hughes; and two grandsons, Gary Phillip Boyer and John Joseph Grady III.
A memorial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Church, 85 Gloster Road, Lawrenceville.

Mother Mary Philomena Horkavi
Mother Mary Philomena Horkavi, foundress of Holy Protection Monastery, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Holy Family Cancer Home in Parma, Ohio. She established the only Byzantine Poor Clares in the United States. She was born in 1906 in Braddock, Pa., and moved as a young girl to Gary, Ind. She studied one year at Ball State University before entering the Poor Clare Monastery on Laflin Street in Chicago. She professed her final vows on Sept. 23, 1931.
She served her community as seamstress, gardener, secretary, bursar, novice mistress and abbess. In Chicago she opened up the arts for the sisters and developed their talents in silk-screening and designing and making cards for seminarians who were to be ordained.
In 1970, Bishop Emil Mihalik, who knew of her desire to establish a contemplative community in the Byzantine Rite, invited her to the Eparchy of Parma. Of the original seven nuns who came to Parma, she was the only one of the Byzantine Rite by birth.
She helped to promote and introduce the Secular Franciscans (3rd order) to the Byzantine Rite and was one of the founding members of the Association of Contemplative Sisters and a member of the Mother Bentivoglio Federation.
Mother Philomena, 97, was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna Horkavi; three brothers, Michael, Joseph and Emil; and two sisters, Matilda and Helen Satran.
She is survived by two brothers, Victor (wife Carolyn) Horkavi of Merrillville, Ind., and Francis (wife Patricia) Horkavi of Barrington; and three sisters, Irene Keserich of Merrillville, Therese (husband Paul) Hogan of Naperville and Genevieve Hogan of Independence, Mo.; and members of her community and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at St. John's Byzantine Cathedral Chapel followed by Parastas. The funeral Pontifical liturgy will be celebrated by Archbishop Basil Schott O.F.M. at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 19, at St. John Byzantine Cathedral at Snow Road and Broadview Road in Parma.
Interment will be at Holy Spirit cemetery in Parma.

Pierre A. Peebles Sr.
Pierre A. Peebles Sr., 69, a resident of Naperville since 1972 and formerly of Oak Park, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at his home. He was born June 28, 1935, in Chicago.
He attended Ascension Grammar School and Fenwick High School. He went on to attend University of Illinois and Lewis University. He was an executive in the Street Industry for 40 years and an avid pilot. He was a founding member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Naperville and a member of Cress Creek Country Club for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; a son, Pierre Jr. of Fort Meyers Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Michele (husband Brian) Riordan of Geneva, Amy (husband John) Hill of Naperville and Jill (husband John) Byrne of Chicago; six grandchildren, Colleen, Patrick, Connor, Jack, Claire and Brenna; a sister, Georgia (husband Walter) Nitchoff of Arizona; two brothers, George (wife Sheila) Peebles of Western Springs and Dwight (wife Marlene) Peebles of Addison; an aunt, Natalie Peebles; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Isabelle; and an infant daughter, Mary.
