Daniel Morgan Duty Jr.
Daniel Morgan Duty Jr., a 30-year resident of Naperville, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, in Naperville. He was born in Clintwood, Va.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Wiemann); his sons, Daniel and Douglas Duty; and his best friend, Lucy the hound.
Daniel was an avid walker, reader and patron of the Nichols Library, Naperville. He worked for NASA and also Lucent Technologies and retired in 1999.

Ruth K. Moore
Ruth K. Moore, 80, of Naperville and a former resident of Plainfield and Downers Grove, died peacefully Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at ManorCare in Naperville. She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Germany.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Rosemarie (husband Tom) Lawless and Heidi Lufrano; her wonderful grandchildren, Jerry Hall, Chris Targosz, and Joey and Adam Lufrano; her special great-grandson, William Hall; her dear sisters, Christa (late husband Peter) Scardina and Ellen (late husband Ernst) Kienie; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 23 years, Clarence Moore.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Booth officiating.
Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.

Esther N. Benson
Esther N. (Ekstrom) Benson, 93, a Naperville resident since 1973, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. She was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Chicago, to the Rev. Oscar and Anna Amelia Ekstrom.
Esther was a longtime resident of the Martin Avenue Apartments Community, as well as a longtime member of the Naperville Congregational Church.
She is survived by her loving brother, Gilbert (wife Helen) Ekstrom of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; a sister, Carol J. (husband Harry) Peterson of Naperville; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Ekstrom; nieces and nephews, Karen (husband Mike) Fisher, Cheryl (husband Brian) Lathrop, Nancy (husband Jerome) Peterson-Merritt, Robert (wife Jane) Weese, Bruce (wife Debbie) Ekstrom and David (wife Patrice) Ekstrom; as well as many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 24 years, Marvin Benson; a sister, Mildred Weese, and her husband, Trenton Weese; and a brother, Frank Ekstrom.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Naperville Congregational Church, One Bunting Lane, Naperville, IL 60540. The Rev. Thomas Boehne will officiate.

Cecelia Ambre
Cecelia A. (nee Petit) Ambre, 93, a resident of Naperville since 1959 and a former resident of Aurora, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at her home.
She grew up in Batavia and was a graduate of Madonna High School, class of 1929. She was employed by Western United Gas and Electric as a secretary. She was a longtime member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Naperville and a founding member of the Young at Heart seniors group. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was awarded Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice Medal (For the Church and the Pope), the highest award that can be given to a layperson by the church. Over the years she was a member of the Naperville Garden Club, the League of Women Voters and Church Women United. She studied oil painting and restoration of early American designs on velvet, and produced works of art in many different media.
She is survived by her husband, Fred M. Ambre; four children, James (wife Diane) Ambre of Naperville, Dr. John (wife Anita) Ambre of Deerfield, Jerome Ambre of Naperville and Alyce (husband Bob) Funke of Richardson, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; three brothers, the Rev. Ed, the Rev. Leo and Joe Petit; four sisters, Christine McElroy, Mary Agnes Michels, Betty Wolles and Camille Kramer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth (nee Besch) Petit; three brothers, Bill, Fred and Dan Petit; two sisters, Catherine Noonan Artlip and Clara DePauw; and a daughter-in-law, Arlene Ambre.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home and proceed to a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Interment will take place at St. Joseph cemetery in Aurora.

Isabel S. Cromer
Isabel S. (Schmitt) Cromer, 95, a lifelong resident of Naperville, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1909, on a farm on Hobson Road in Naperville.
Mrs. Cromer attended Goodrich School and graduated from SS Peter and Paul grade school and was a 1927 graduate of Naperville High School. She was a 1931 graduate of North Central College. She, along with her late husband, Harold, owned and operated Cromer Motors, a Ford garage in Naperville, where Sullivan's Steak House is now. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a charter member of the Naperville Country Club and a member of the Naperville YMCA.
She is survived by two nieces, Mariclaire (husband Bruce) Havel of Naperville and Barbara (husband Thomas) Biltz of Fort Thomas, Ky.; a nephew, Warne (wife Dolores) Stauss of Lansing; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Stauss of Naperville and Bernice Manning of Fort Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1977; her parents, Joseph and Charlotte (Kohley) Schmitt; a brother, Berthold; and a sister, Lucilla Schmitt.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.

Ruth E. (Palm) Findon
Ruth E. (Palm) Findon, 88, a 14-year resident of Naperville and 14-year resident of Woodridge, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at ManorCare Health Services in Naperville. She was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Germantown, Pa.
She owned and operated Findon's, a restaurant and tavern in Milltown, N.J., for 45 years. She had been a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Milltown and is a 24-year member of Woodridge United Methodist Church in Woodridge.
She is survived by a daughter, the Rev. Dr. Carol R. (husband the Rev. Donald Niswonger) Findon of Naperville; a son, Donald F. (wife Lynn) Findon of Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren, James R. (wife Denise) Bingham of Elmhurst, David F. (wife Shirley) Bingham of Denver, Colo., Diana C. (husband Sean) Foley of Aurora, Stacie L. Findon of Washington, D.C., Robert W. (wife Amy) Findon of Billings and Karen R. Findon of Helena, Mont.; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Palm of East Brunswick, N.J.; and a sister, Helen Emerick of North Brunswick, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Findon; and her parents, Julius and Emma (Reichenbach) Palm.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service.
Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick, N.J.

Stanley Jensen
Stanley Jensen, 68, a resident of Naperville for three years and former 65-year resident of La Grange Park, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born Jan. 28, 1936, in New York City.
He was the owner of The White Tavern in Naperville. He was an avid fisherman, a member of the Moose Lodge, a 1954 graduate of Lyons Township High School, a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, and a member of First Baptist Church of La Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Anne (Miller) Jensen; four children, Debbie (husband Wade) Saucier, Charles Jensen, Sean (wife Pam) Brennan and Kevin (wife Erin) Brennan; four grandchildren, Jonathon Saucier, Brian and Connor Brennan, and Rachael Boss; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at First Baptist Church of La Grange, 21 N. Catherine Ave. The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until time of service.

George Clifford Marker
George Clifford Marker, 90, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living in Naperville since 2002 and a longtime resident of Park Ridge, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Sunrise. He was born July 22, 1914, in Lewis, Iowa.
He was a graduate of Lewis High School in 1931, Grinnell College in 1935 and Chicago Theological Seminary in 1944. He prepared to be a Navy chaplain but was not called to duty. He worked for Peoples Gas Co. in Chicago for 40 years. He was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Park Ridge. He dearly loved music, playing the trumpet and singing. He was an avid gardener and loved nature. He was privileged to celebrate life at his 90th birthday in July with 50 close relatives and friends. His life was a blessing to all who knew him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Glenna (husband Richard) Adams and Georgia (husband Thomas) Harle, both of Naperville; four grandchildren, David (wife Kristie) and Katherine Adams and Margot and Eric Harle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carolyn and Lt. Col. Ret Walter Morgan of Ohio; nephews Dr. David Marker of Hawaii and Harry (wife Rita) Marker of Houston; nieces Rita (husband William) Witler and Connie (husband Terry) Pohl of Ohio; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Miriam Bock Marker; both parents, Harry and Grace Marker; and brothers Calburt (wife Vera) and Paul Marker.

Joan M. (Nahas) Ramuta
Joan M. (Nahas) Ramuta died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at home with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident.
She is survived by her treasured husband and caregiver, Matthew, and her loving children, two sons, Matthew (wife Rebecca) and John (wife Vicky), both of Naperville, and one daughter, Mary Jo (husband Robert Biondi) of Arlington Heights. She was proud grandma - "Grambones" - of seven, Stephanie (husband Nathan) Gunnaway, Sarah, Susanna, Michael and Matthew Ramuta, Brett and Luke Biondi. She is also survived by two sisters, Jackie (husband James) Spota of Atlanta and Dona (husband Paul) Laskovsky; a brother, Joe (wife Lore) Nahas; and fond aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins and numerous very appreciated friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Glavan) Nahas; a brother, Gary Nahas; in-laws Matt and Mary (Kwasniewski) Ramuta; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and two nieces.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Holy Family Church, on Route 59 in Shorewood. Visitation at the church will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial.
Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.

Helen Marie (Berge) Bergman, 61, of Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville and formerly a 25-year resident of Woodridge, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Meadowbrook Manor. She was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Cheyenne, Wyo.
She had been a quality assurance specialist for a business company. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
She is survived by a daughter, Sara Bergman; two sons, Randall (wife Jill) Bergman and Mark Bergman; two granddaughters, Cassandra and Kira; and a sister, Ann (husband Cecil)..
