Casimir C. Kaliski
Casimir C. Kaliski, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Illinois Veteran's Home at Manteno. He was formerly from Wheaton and the South Side of Chicago. He was born Feb. 18, 1914, in Chicago.
He was a great amateur baseball pitcher which earned him the nickname "Buzz." He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and proprietor of a service station located at 79th and State Road in Burbank.
He was a loving father and hero to his surviving son, Charles J. Kaliski; daughter, Kathryn K. (husband William) Welch; sister, Florence (husband Edward) Stazak; brother, Joseph Kaliski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda G. (Dilesky) Kaliski; parents, Joseph and Boleslawa; and sisters, Lillian (husband Joseph) Czuczman and Marianne Kaliski.
Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Damar Funeral Home, 7861 S. 88th Ave., two miles west of 79th and Harlem, Justice.
Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery in Justice.
Ryan W. Parker
Ryan W. Parker, 25, of Naperville was called home to God's care on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004. He died as a result of injuries suffered from an accidental fall. He was born Aug. 29, 1978, in Aurora, the son of Welby and Dianna (Hartman) Parker.
Ryan provided all who knew him with so many wonderful memories. His passions in life were playing pool, dancing, spending time with his friends and his love of the Chicago Cubs. His final day on earth was spent in rooftop seats at Wrigley Field enjoying a Cubs victory.
Ryan left behind a large circle of friends, including his mother, Dianna Parker of Naperville, and her fiance, Patrick Murphy; his father, Welby (wife Kasha) Parker of Naperville; a sister, Danielle (husband Jeremy) Abel of Oswego; his devoted girlfriend, Carly Houston of Aurora; his maternal grandfather, Sterling Hartman of Aurora; his paternal grandparents, Welby F. and Margaret Parker Sr. of Aurora; his aunts and uncles, Traci (husband Matt) Perez of Aurora, Connie and Sotiris Nacopolous of Lombard and Randy Hartman of Montgomery; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Arlene Hartman.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Miller officiating.
Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery in Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
A. William 'Bill' Pasbach
A. William "Bill" Pasbach, 54, formerly of Naperville, died from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, in Broomfield, Colo. Bill left a lasting impression upon those who crossed his path. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Mary Pasbach of Boonton, N.J.; a daughter, Cheryl Pasbach Gretz, her husband, Brian, and their son, Taylor, of Englewood, Colo.; his companion, Joyce Stewart of Broomfield; and his four siblings and their families, Bob and his wife, Franny, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Peggy Pasbach Elliott and her husband, David, of Boardman, Ohio; Claudia Pasbach Gonda and her husband, George, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; and Diana Pasbach Thorn and her husband, John, of Portland, Pa. Nieces and nephew are Allyson and Samantha Pasbach, Catherine and Christina Elliott, Brittany, Jordan and Troy Gonda, and Jessica, Andrea, Hillary and Kelly Thorn.
Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Pasbach, in 1977.
A memorial service was recently held at the top of Flagstaff Mountain near Boulder, Colo. A local memorial service in Boonton, N.J., is pending.

DiMitri Krasen Pruneda
DiMitri Krasen Pruneda, age 7, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at his Naperville home after a brave struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Dec. 31, 1996.
DiMitri came to the United States after waiting for the family of his dreams in a Bulgarian orphanage for four long years. He was deaf from birth and had numerous other medical issues but overcame them and blossomed into a funny, normal American child. After overcoming all of the obstacles that life dealt him, DiMitri enjoyed learning new American ways, like eating hamburgers, his first ice-cream cone and playing video games. He adored dolphins, the feel of smooth skin, a good hug and a lap to curl up in.
DiMitri is survived by his parents, Joel and Lisa; a brother, Dakota "Cody"; a sister, Phoebe Ireland; his loving aunts, "Aunt M" Michaelanne (husband Sean) Nelson, Belinda (husband Vin) Ovilar, San Juanita Weber and Trudi Schwartz; his uncles, Mark Pruneda, Richard (wife Lonna) Schwartz and Larry Schwartz; his grandparents, Roger and Sarah Terry and Joel and Emma Pruneda; his loving cousins; and four special teachers, Samantha, Megan, Jenny and Zack.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Phoebe Schwartz; great-grandmother, Pauline Nagle; and uncle Frank Weber; and a special great-aunt and -uncle.
Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. until the time of service worship at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at St. John AME, 142 S. Fourth St., Aurora.
Burial will be Monday, Aug. 30, at Riverside cemetery in Montgomery.

Alice I. Qualben
Alice I. Qualben, age 63, a resident of Burr Ridge since 2003 and a former resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., passed to eternity on Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at Hinsdale Hospital.
She grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from Wagner College and worked for the AT&T Long Lines Division in marketing. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also the Christian Women's Business Association.
She is survived by her beloved sisters, Thelma Qualben of Burr Ridge and Betty (husband Len) Wik of Naperville; her nephew, Ivar (wife Karen) Wik; and her niece, Suzanne (husband Marc) LaRoux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivar and Olanda Qualbeen; and a sister, Mildred Qualben.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will be private.

Robert F. Schoene Sr.
Robert F. Schoene Sr., 85, of Lisle died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Chicago.
He had been a lifetime resident of Chicago, moving to Lisle in 1996. He was retired from the Chicago police force in 1974, after 28 years of service. He attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his son, Robert (wife Nancy) Schoene Jr., of Des Moines, Iowa; his daughters, Janet (husband Michael) Boyd of Vienna, Va., and Laurie (husband John) Regan of Naperville; and seven grandchildren, Robert Schoene III, Adam Schoene, Kurt Boyd, Katie Boyd, Jacqueline (fiance Ryan Meagher) Regan, Pamela Regan and Jennifer Regan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, in June 2002; and one sister.
Visitation will take place from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph cemetery in River Grove.

Irene L. Vinyard
Irene L. (Beckmann) Vinyard, 86, a Naperville resident since 1977, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Community Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Naperville. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Chicago.
She was a homemaker.
She was the wife of the late Howard; mother of Donald, Carolynne and the late Dennis; grandmother of Barbara and Bobby; great-grandmother of Billy, Vicky, Jimmy and Adam.
Interment was private at Rosehill cemetery in Chicago.

Barbara K. Buyansky
Barbara K. (Kertis) Buyansky, 65, a resident of Naperville since 1968, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born March 5, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Barbara grew up in Cleveland and was a graduate of John Adams High School. She attended Ohio State University in Columbus for three years before leaving to get married
. Barbara would go on to graduate later with a bachelor of science degree in education home economics from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She was employed by the DeVry Institute of Technology (now DeVry University) from 1982 to 1995 as a career counselor, assisting students to find jobs after graduation. She was a longtime member of St. Raphael Church in Naperville and was active in her children's Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities.
She is survived by her husband, Donald V. Buyansky of Naperville, whom she married
Sept. 10, 1960; two children, Steven (wife Pamela) Buyansky of Aurora and Lisa Noval of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Spencer and Piper Buyansky and Kaylie and Daniel Bookman; three sisters, Patricia (husband Henry) Hardcastle of Knoxville, Tenn., Joann (husband Darius) Baer of Boulder, Colo., and Suzi Chimovitz of Flint, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Kertis.
Visitation will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the funeral home and will proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville.

Russell J. Daschner, 79, of Naperville died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born June 9, 1925, in Chicago.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Steven H. Homewood, 49, of Aurora passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. He was born Sept. 28, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, a son of Herb and Mary Homewood.
He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned and operated the American Eagle Investment and Insurance Group of Aurora, and he loved golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Homewood; a son, Steven Homewood Jr.; a daughter, Holly Homewood; a stepson, Steven Hart; two grandchildren, Joselynn and Devin; his parents, Herb and Mary Homewood of Monroe, Wis.; a brother, Bill Homewood of New Castle, Okla.; and a sister, Sherri (husband Bill) Fish of Bloomington.
