Linda D. Pierotti

Linda D. (De Gaetano) Pierotti, 98, a resident of Naperville for the past nine years, died Monday, August 23, 2004, at Tabor Hills Healthcare Center in Naperville.

Born in southern Italy on April 23, 1906, she came to Chicago with her family in 1920. At age 14, Linda claimed to be older to get a job at the Hawthorne Works of the Western Electric Co. On Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1929, the same day that gangsters gunned down seven in a Chicago garage, Linda attended a dance at Hull House where she met Bruno Pierotti, another immigrant. In 1933, they were married . In 1955, they moved from Chicago to Westchester.

She was proud of the accomplishments of her two children, Gloria Johanns and Dario Pierotti. Gloria became an educator, teaching English at Jefferson Junior High School in Naperville District 203 for more than 20 years. Her son, Dario, of Elburn owned and operated Family Ford, a dealership in West Chicago, until his recent retirement.

Linda was an expert cook whose dinners, highlighted by Italian specialties, were cherished by her family and friends. She was direct and outspoken, but also warm and generous. Her energy and enthusiasm for life remained at high levels until a decline that set in a few days before her death. Just a week before her death, she was at Pearl Lake, Wis., where she and her husband had honeymooned in a tent in 1933, and both her son and daughter have second homes.

In addition to her daughter, Gloria (husband Charles) Johanns, and son, Dario (wife Anaterese) Pierotti, she is survived by five grandchildren, Linda Johanns-Risley (husband Michael) and Fred Johanns (wife Linda), both of Naperville, Charles Dario Johanns (wife Carol) of Chicago, John Pierotti of Geneva and Gina Pierotti Wormley (husband Troy) of Corona del Mar, Calif. Eight great-grandchildren and several cousins also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno Pierotti; and six brothers and sisters.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A funeral service will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home and proceed to a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

Jerry J. Prokopec

Jerry J. Prokopec, 80, of Sandwich passed away, Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his home. He was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Chicago, the son of Jerry and Anna (Lidinsky) Prokopec. He married Rosemarie J. Petricek on Nov. 30, 1946, in Berwyn.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during World War II. He was employed by Deetch Industrial Concrete as a cement finisher for many years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. His family was the most important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Prokopec of Sandwich; a daughter, Susan (husband Robert) Szafranski of Sandwich; four sons, Jerry (wife Marcia) Prokopec of Gold Canyon, Ariz., Steven (wife Stacey) Prokopec of Naperville, Randy Prokopec of Goodyear, Ariz., and Joel Prokopec of Sandwich; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Prokopec of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Prokopec, on Oct. 14, 2003; a great-grandson, Michael Szafranski; a brother, Richard Prokopec; and a sister, Mildred Melka.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 606 E. Arnold Road, Sandwich, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. The Rev. Donald D. DeSalvo will officiate.

Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Masses or to the DeKalb County Hospice.

Rose Yackley

Rose (nee Wiezik) Yackley, 86, a resident of Oswego and a former resident of Lisle and Naperville, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2004, at her home. She was born August 5, 1918, in Chicago.

She was an active former member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Lisle. She worked with her husband, Muggs, as a bookkeeper for the family business, Yackley Material Services in Lisle, for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon G. "Muggs" Yackley of Oswego, whom she married Nov. 9, 1935; a daughter, Pamela K. (husband James A.) Russo of Mazomanie, Wis.; four grandchildren, James Jr. (wife Jill) Russo of Broadhead, Wis., Vincent II (wife Pamela) Russo of Prairie DuSac, Wis., and Rose M. Russo and Sandra Russo, both of Iowa City, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Alisa, Kasi and Vanina Russo; two sisters, Sylvia Josefek of North Riverside and Shirley Smith of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zygmunt and Victoria Wiezik, and two siblings, August and Harriet.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, for a Mass of Christian burial with the Rev. Bob Collogan officiating.

Interment will take place at SS Peter and Paul cemetery in Naperville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, or to St. Anne Catholic Church.

William J. Theobold

William J. Theobold, 76, a 35-year resident of Naperville, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at home with his family. He was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Chicago.

He retired from Bill Stillwell Buick in 1992.

William was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine C. (Schaefges); the loving father of Susan (husband Mike) Connor, Dean (wife Barb) and Kimberly (husband Matt) Hogan; the cherished papa of Matthew (wife Monica), Becky and Marissa Connor, Katie, Will and Joey Theobold, and Lori, Meggie and Michael Hogan.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville.

Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Mausoleum at Assumption cemetery in Wheaton.

Dolores T. (Krzak) Hannemann

Dolores T. (Krzak) Hannemann, 58, a Naperville resident since 1982, passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at her home in Naperville. She was born May 30, 1946, in Chicago.

Dolores is survived by her loving children, Richard H. (wife Carolyn) and Christopher (wife Mona Agape) Hannemann, and her beloved granddaughter, Madeline Hannemann, all of Aurora; her brother, Walter (wife Alice) Krzak of New Lenox; her dear aunt and uncle, Bob and Virginia Klonowski of Port Orange, Fla.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Dick Hannemann; and her parents, Walter and Sylvia Krzak.

Dolores was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends and the patients she has cared for at the Aurora Medical Clinic over the last 16 years.

For those who prefer, the family has asked that memorials in her name be sent to the Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, Attn: Marianjoy Foundation, 26W171 Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL 60187.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Prayers will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home and proceed to a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville, with the Rev. Mark Cotes officiating.

Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery in Justice.

Ruth T. Lindberg

Julia Ruth Titterington Lindberg, 93, former teacher and assistant principal with Naperville School District 203 for more than 20 years, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. She was born May 18, 1911, in Omaha, Neb., and spent her childhood years in Kansas City, Mo.

In 1932, Mrs. Lindberg was awarded a bachelor of philosophy degree from the University of Chicago where she also was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honorary. She taught in Wisconsin, Kansas and Lisle before joining District 203. At Naper School, she taught grades 2, 3 and 4, then later served as assistant principal at Elmwood. Failing eyesight forced her to take early retirement. In 1994, she moved to Fairview Village Retirement Community in Downers Grove, where she made her home for the past 10 years. She was actively involved with creative writing and enjoyed reading.

While in Naperville, Mrs. Lindberg was a member of Community United Methodist Church and a member of the Naperville Women's Club. She lived on Eagle Street, where she raised two surviving sons, Melvin Stanley Jr., now of Evanston, and Frank (wife Nancy Van Ham) of Baltimore. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Peter of New York and Carolyn of Baltimore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Stanley Lindberg Sr. of Naperville; a brother, Frank Titterington of Kansas City; and a sister, Mary McGowen of Boulder, Colo.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Ulrich Memorial Chapel, within Fairview Baptist Home, 250 Village Drive, Downers Grove. There will be a visitation, starting at 10 a.m., for one hour prior to service time. Village Drive is about three blocks south of 63rd Street off Fairview Avenue.

Interment at Naperville cemetery is private

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home in Naperville handled arrangements.

Robert A. Bulgarelli

Robert A. Bulgarelli, 82, a longtime resident of Naperville, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at his home.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Naperville.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Biondi); three sons, Robert L. (wife Melody), Raymond J. (wife Karen) and John J. (wife Maria) Bulgarelli; two grandchildren, Brian (wife Jennifer) and Mark Bulgarelli; a brother, Joseph (wife Cynthia); and a sister-in-law, Christine Roselli.

A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville.

Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.

Dolores T. Hannemann

Dolores T. (Krzak) Hannemann, 58, a Naperville resident since 1982, passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at her home in Naperville. She was born May 30, 1946, in Chicago.

Dolores was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends and the patients she has cared for at the Aurora Medical Clinic over the last 16 years.

Andrew Napolitano

Andrew Napolitano, age 85, of the Carillon in Plainfield and formerly a longtime resident of Berwyn, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. He was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Chicago.

He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II and was the owner and operator of the Ridgeland Barber Shop in Berwyn for 40 years. He was a fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Addison Council 650 and a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Carmelina (Moro); two daughters, Fran (husband Edward) Kriz and Phyllis (husband Dave) Krawczyk, both of Naperville; four grandchildren, Andrew and Brandon Kriz and Alyson and David Krawczyk, all of Naperville; three brothers-in-law, John Moro of Berwyn, Jerry Moro of California and Tony Perri of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Francesca Napolitano; a brother and a sister; and three sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Rosetta Moro and Yolanda Perri.

Visitation will take place from 2 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.

A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, from the funeral home and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, at Green Trails Drive and Naper Boulevard, Naperville.

Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

Frances M. Stamburski

Frances M. Stamburski, 89, a 30-year resident of Naperville, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at her home. She was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Chicago.

Mrs. Stamburski was a retired employee of Illinois Bell after 21 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Naperville.

She is survived by one daughter, Francine (husband Dennis) Ballard of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Julie (husband Patrick) Fortner of Bloomingdale and Keith Ballard of Hoffman Estates; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, and proceed to a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

Visitation will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home.

Jenna M. Barenbrugge

Jenna M. Barenbrugge, 17, died in a tragic car accident Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. She was born June 2, 1987, to her adoring parents, Chuck Barenbrugge, formerly of Naperville, and Belinda Cochran, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was getting ready to start her senior year at Skyline High School, where she lettered in dance and was an exceptional student. She was an avid snowboarder and loved the outdoors, especially Brighton Mountain Resort. She loved music, anything by Incubus, and choreographing new dances. She saw the good in everyone.

She leaves behind her grieving parents; a sister, Brooke; a brother, Steve; her grandparents, Billy G. and Annamaria Cochran, and grandma Eleanor (Field-Lemke) Barenbrugge; aunts and uncles, William (wife Sandy) Cochran, Barbara (husband Brian) DeGeus, Trish (husband Brian) Molina, Judie (husband Dan) Carlisle, Larry (wife Rosemary) Barenbrugge, Jeanne (husband Randy) Yorke, Michael Barenbrugge, Teri (husband Steve) Laman and John (wife Melody) Barenbrugge; and many cousins. Also, her sweet boyfriend, David Walker and family; and longtime friends, Hallie, Dani, McKenzie and Amanda; and other good friends throughout her short life.

She was preceded in death by Grandpa Joe and Grandma Sally.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Salt Lake City.

Donations in Jenna's name may be directed to the Leukemia Foundation or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
