Mary D. Piwowarczyk
Mary D. Piwowarczyk, 86, of Oswego died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Chicago, and had only recently moved to Naperville from Calumet City.
She did clerical work for more than 20 years at Marshall Field's in Chicago. Mrs. Piwowarczyk loved baking and gardening, but most of all she loved being a grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (husband Robert) Elliott of Naperville; three grandsons, Douglas, Ryan and Robert Elliott, all of Naperville; a brother, Ted Chud of Naperville; and a nephew, Jerome Bonkowski of Tinley Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents, Stanley and Josephine (Kus) Chudzikiewicz; a brother, John Chudzikiewicz; and three sisters, Pearl Tomasek, Stella Bonkowski and Adeline Chud.
Visitation will take place from 5 until 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, atBeidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 24021 W. Royal Worlington Drive (Route 59), Naperville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross cemetery in Calumet City.

Robert 'Bob' H. Jarrell
Robert "Bob" H. Jarrell, 81, a 53-year resident of Naperville, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born July 16, 1923, in Harrisburg.
He is a graduate of Harrisburg Township High School, class of 1941; University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, class of 1946, with a degree in business administration; and received a master's degree in management from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1961.
Robert Jarrell was employed at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1951 to 1983. He was the comptroller and then business manager. He also was a lecturer in accounting at IIT. He served as treasurer of Argonne University Associates from 1979 to 1983. He established a management consulting business, Robert H. Jarrell and Associates, from 1983 to 1989. After being Lisle Township clerk from 1973 to 1989, he was elected Lisle Township supervisor and served from 1989 to 1997. He was the chairman of Lisle Township Republication Organizations from 1976 to 1978. He was in his 29th year serving as a DuPage County jury commissioner.
He served as chairman of the Education Division, Illinois Cancer Crusade, 1960 to 1963, 1965 and also in 1966. While at IIT, he took leadership roles with the Chicago Salvation Army Settlement and the Chicago Unit of the American Cancer Society. He was a longtime member of the Financial Executives Institute (secretary 1964 and 1965), the Illinois-Wisconsin Section of the National Association of Educational Buyers (secretary-treasurer in 1969 and chairman in 1971), and both the National and Central Associations of College and University Business Officers. He had been active in the Naperville YMCA Indian Guides program and was a member of the Naperville Municipal Band, playing drums in the 1950s, and was one of the earliest members of the Naperville Jaycees. He served with the Naperville Crusade of Mercy (now Naperville United Way) and was treasurer and board member of Naperville Community Television.
Bob joined Rotary One in Chicago in 1980, and after retirement from IIT, he was inducted into the Rotary Club of Naperville in 1983. He is a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth J. (Beidelman); a daughter, Katherine (husband Gerd) Reuter of Arlington Heights; three sons, Michael (wife Patricia) of Naperville, Steven (wife Catherine) of Chandler, Ariz., and Peter (wife Susan) of Wauconda; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Brian, and Diana, Jennifer, Kenneth and Forrest Jarrell; and a brother, John L. (wife Betty) Jarrell of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine (Grace) Jarrell; and a brother, Frank.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road, Naperville.
Visitation will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.
Interment will be at the Naperville cemetery.

Edward M. Strenk, DDS
Edward M. Strenk, DDS, of Palos Park died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. (Saar); three children, James S. Strenk, Eileen M. (husband Michael) Hofstetter and Thomas E. (wife Mary Jo) Strenk; three grandchildren, Adam, Clayton and Emma Rose; 12 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Dr. Robert S. (wife Judith) Strenk and James J. (wife Nancy) Strenk; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene H. (Litoborski).
Visitation will take place from 2 until 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at John Sheehy and Sons Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th St., Palos Heights.
A funeral service will begin at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the funeral home and proceed to St. Alexander Church for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial.
Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery.

Horace F. Sykes V
Horace F. Sykes V, 72, of Naperville died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at home. He was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Washington, D.C.
He was a computer analyst and served his country with honor.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Whittington, Deborah (husband Keith) Campbell and Julia (husband Brent) Kaylor. He was the fond grandfather of seven.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margery (Condron).

Eunice J. Smith
Eunice J. Smith, 85, of Naperville died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at her home. She was born March 12, 1919, in Chicago and had been a resident of Naperville since 1985 after moving from Downers Grove.
She worked at the Rambler Children's Shop in Downers Grove for more than 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove since 1969.
She is survived by her husband, Russell L. Smith, whom she married
Jan. 21, 1944; a son, David (wife Debbie) Smith of North Aurora; five daughters, Janice (husband David) Redman of Monticello, twins Jean (husband Larry) Jacobs of Bloomingdale and Joan Williamson of Naperville, Barbara (husband Ken) Kudia of Naperville and Linda (husband Robert) Sandmann of Bolingbrook; seven grandchildren, Eric (wife Carrie) Redman, Chris Redman, Mindy (husband Matt) Powell, Brian and Laura Kudia, and Kristen and Sarah Sandmann; and a sister, Marjorie King of Michigan City, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mae (Lewis) Hicks; two brothers, Clyde and Dean Hicks; three sisters, Glenna Johnson, Edries Lauritzen and Miriam Badoni; and a son-in-law, Mack Williamson.

Margaret J. Koretke
Margaret J. Koretke, 82, a lifelong resident of Naperville, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Edward Hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Naperville and was a very active member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville.
Mrs. Koretke volunteered at St. Patrick's Residence for 14 years and later at Sunrise Assisted Living East, both in Naperville.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Koretke of Naperville; three daughters, Jeannette (husband George) Krass III of Naperville, Rita Koretke of Richmond, Va., and Peggy (husband Chuck) Zadak of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren, George Krass IV, Craig Krass, Jason, Jennifer and Adam Vergne, and Robert and Natalie Zadak; and threegreat-grandchildren, Cameron, Kylie and Robbie Krass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jennette (Rohmer) Sneft.

John B. Klopatek
John B. Klopatek, 76, a Naperville resident since 1974, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Community Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Naperville. He was born July 31, 1928, in Chicago.
Mr. Klopatek was an Army Air Force veteran and had been employed at Cress Creek Country Club. He was a very active member of Naperville Moose Lodge 1290 since 1968, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and an avid Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Lois (Straub); one son, Kenneth (wife Dana) Limong of Aurora; one daughter, Diane (husband Michael) Dexter of Burlington; and three grandchildren, Amy, Chad and Jeremy Dexter; one grandchild on the way; and one great-grandchild, Cody Michael Dexter, all of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Jennie Klopatek.

Charles B. Blakemore
Charles B. Blakemore, 51, a resident of Naperville, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.
He was employed by Gibson Electric for over 20 years. He loved playing football for the Wheaton Central High School football team, and he received a college scholarship to the University of South Dakota. He was a union member of IBEW 701.
He is survived by his wife, Jera (nee Chambers); two stepdaughters, Jennifer B. Lloyd and Katherine M. Lloyd; and two sisters, Linda Thiele and Joyce (husband Daniel) Vallo.

Ann J. Musfeldt
Ann J. Musfeldt, 83, a resident of Lisle, assuredly, because of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, went to heaven on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004. She was born Dec. 7, 1920, in St. Louis, Mo.
She was a resident at the Devonshire and Westbury Care Center in Lisle for more than 10 years. She was a longtime resident of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Hoffman Estates. She attended the Evangelical Free Church of Naperville and was an active participant in women's Bible studies. She will be fondly remembered for her penchant for letter writing and card sending. She was a graduate of Gulfport Women's College in Gulfport, Miss.
She is survived by two sons, Gene (wife Linda) White of Playa Del Rey, Calif., and Dr. Charles (wife Linda) Musfeldt Jr., formerly of Naperville and currently of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters, Miranda and Laura Musfeldt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Musfeldt Sr.
Visitation took place Tuesday at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, Naperville. Additional visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Free Church of Naperville, 1551 Hobson Road.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
