Irmgard McCallister

Irmgard G. McCallister, nee Schmidt, 78, of Lombard, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003 in Lombard.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Patrick J. Boomhower officiating.

Mrs. McCallister was the mother of Randy (Melody) and JoAnn, grandmother of three, great-grandmother of one, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hans Rudolph (Dorothy) Schmidt and Roy (Doris) Schmidt.

Mrs. McCallister had been employed with Carson Pirie Scott for over 30 years.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.

Arrangements were made by Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.

Charmaine Nelson

Charmaine V. Nelson, nee Grabowich, 74, of St. Petersburg, Fla, formerly of Downers Grove and Oak Park, died Thursday, July 31, 2003.

Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 6, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Mrs. Nelson was the mother of Dennis (Debbie), Michael (Lorna) and Janice (Paul) Swanson of Lombard; grandmother of eight; sister of Kenneth (Waja) Grabowich; sister-in-law of of Dolores Unterfranz and Anna Mae (Tony) Neis; and relative and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry K.; and brother-in-law, Steve Unterfranz.

Mrs. Nelson had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the Downers Grove/Lisle area; a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital; and was active in the 2900 Maple Condominium Senior Social Club in Downers Grove, where she had served as a coordinator. She had been active at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, and enjoyed Bingo.

Memorials to Heartland Hospice, 2235 Enterprise, Suite 3510, Westchester, IL 60154, would be appreciated.

Mildred Teska

Mildred C. Teska, nee Cisar, 85, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 in Lombard.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 30, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Bob Schoenstene officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside.

Mrs. Teska was the wife of Clarence, mother of Clarence D. (Judy) and Ronald (Rosemary), grandmother of three, great-grandmother of two, and sister of George Cisar. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Josephine Cisar; and brother, Ed (Julie) Cisar.

Mrs. Teska was a homemaker.

Arrangements were made by Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.

Thomas Thachet, Ph.D.

Thomas Thachet, Ph. D., 68, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.

Dr. Thachet was the husband of Nina; father of Cyria T. (Suja), Lisum and Tomas (Sherry); stepfather of Cheryl (Roger) Baker; grandfather of five; and brother of seven brothers and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Bessie.

Dr. Thachet was retired after working as a chemist in the medical field.

Memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave.,Villa Park.

Marilyn Waidanz

Marilyn A. Waidanz, nee Roraff, 71, of Lombard, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Brust Funeral Home in Lombard. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.

Mrs. Waidanz was the wife of Robert Sr.; mother of Robert Jr. (Cindy), James (Jane), Joseph (Christine) of Lombard, and Cindy (Kenneth) Krase of Lombard; grandmother of three; great-grandmother of one; and sister of Robert (Jan) Roraff and Shirley Klingelhofer. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Roraff; and sister, Lois Hauck.

Mrs. Waidanz was a resident of Lombard for 45 years. She had retired in 1982 after working 10 years with Bel-Tronics in Addison. She was an avid Bingo player.

Memorials to the American Liver Foundation, 1425 Pompton, Ave., Cedar Grove, NJ 07009-9990, would be appreciated.

Thomas Allen

Thomas C. Allen, 68, of Lombard, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.

Visitation and funeral services will be held today, Oct. 1, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.

Mr. Allen was the father of Mark (Patricia) of Lombard and Susan, grandfather of two, brother of Bob (Barbara) and Frank, and best friend of Barbara Cunningham.

Mr. Allen was a graduate of Leyden High School. He worked as a farmstand produce manager at Jewel in Elmhurst and Carol Stream for over 35 years. He was a member of the Northwest Sailing Association.

Leo Cassettari

Leo J. Cassettari, 72, of Lombard, formerly of Park Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at home.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with Bishop Lawrence Sabatini and the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating.

Mr. Cassettari was the husband of Catherine, father of Steven (Linda) and Dawn (Mario) Stella, grandfather of three, and brother-in-law of Edward (Florita) Bohan and Richard (Rita) Bohan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis P. (the late Rovaldi) Di Silvestro; and brother-in-law, Robert (the late Noreen) Bohan.

Mr. Cassettari was a graduate of Bryant Stratton Business College with a degree in accounting. During the 1950s, he was a production manager and vice president with Wilding Television in Chicago; from the 1960s to 1985 he was president and general manager/executive producer with Studio Seven in Chicago; from 1985-89 he was president and executive producer with Swell Pictures; from 1989-91 he was the executive vice president/general manager/executive producer with North Loop Communications Group; and from 1991-96 he was president and co-founder of Winstar Enterprises, Inc.

Mr. Cassettari received numerous film awards, and was instrumental in forming "The Chicago Coalition," an industry-wide association designed to promote the use of Chicago talent and Chicago production facilities in the production of national television spots. He served as a trustee for the Studio Mechanics Local #476 Pension Board and Health and Welfare Board.
