Norman Clarke
Norman F. Clarke, 90, of Hoffman Estates, formerly of River Forest, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at Lexington in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Clarke was the father of Norma, formerly of Lombard; grandfather of three; great-grandfather of one; and brother of Ralph (Marguerite).
Mr. Clarke had been a resident of Hoffman Estates for 19 years. He retired from Bally Manufacturing after working as an electrical engineer.
James Gardner
James C. Gardner died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Fairview Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner was the father of Diana (David) Aubin, Donna (Anthony) Ramirez and Doreen (John) Smith; stepfather of John (Marcella), Eugene (Harriet) Baker and Willimay (Ray) Garza; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of 12; and brother of Joyce (Don) Winter, Robert (Lenore) and Ronald.
Mr. Gardner was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as a truck driver for a transportation company.
Joan Elizabeth Iwinski
Joan Elizabeth Iwinski, nee Harper, 72, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 3, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Iwinski was the mother of Joseph (Michelle), and sister of Roberta ("Bud") Gsell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and brother, A. Robert (Sharon) Harper.
Mrs. Iwinski was a homemaker.

Salvatore Padalino
Salvatore "Sam" Padalino, 95, of Lombard, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Herb Essig officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Padalino was the husband of Mae, father of Nancy G. (Walter Jr.) Perek and Alfred (Carol), grandfather of four, great-grandfather of two, uncle of many, and brother-in-law of Melba Padalino and Helen Padalino. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tony (the late Rose), Joseph, Charlie and Carmie; and sister, Josephine (the late Frank) Burbatt.
Nicholas Raitano
Nicholas P. Raitano, 63, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, with prayers from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery.
Mr. Raitano was the father of Connie (Ray) Gentile, grandfather of three, and brother of Frances (Osvaldo) Sosa and Jacqueline M. Heeg (James) Stack. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah; son, Douglas W.; and parents, Jack and Jennie Raitano.
Mr. Raitano had worked as a foreman for the city of St. Louis, Mo.
Adella Ringwald
Adella Joan Ringwald, 88, of Lombard, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 in Woodridge.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with Deacon Frank Lillig of Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Ringwald was the sister-in-law of Christine June (Frank G.) Fota and Raymond (Mary) Ringwald and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; sister, Mary Detrick; and brothers, John (the late Bernice) Snieski and Adolf "Skip" (Minnie) Snieski.
Memorials to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
Agnes Seiler
Agnes E. Seiler, nee Spoo, 95, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Elmwood Center in Aurora.
Visitation will be today, Oct. 1, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patrick Boomhower of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Seiler was the mother of Donald R. (Ginny) and Charles (Pat); grandmother of four; great-grandmother of five; and sister of Lois Proeber, Ruth Beyer and Henry (Lois) Spoo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; a great-grandson; brothers, Ralph and Richard Spoo; and sister, Gladys Grossman.
Mrs. Seiler grew up in Oak Park and was a resident of Oak Park for over 30 years. She was a resident of Lombard for 10 years and McHenry for 10 years. She had worked at her father's store, Spoo's Market, and was a graduate of the Luther Institute of Chicago. She was a seamstress, and made quilts for the Lombard Community Senior Center for their raffles.

Carla Stimpert
Carla A. Stimpert, nee Allen, 42, of Wilmington, Ohio, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Midwestern Medical Center in Zion.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Stimpert was the wife of Colin; daughter of Eleanor C. and Ron C. Allen of Lombard; daughter-in-law of Clyde and Clara Stimpert; and niece, cousin and relative of many.
Mrs. Stimpert graduated from Glenbard East High School in 1979 and attended College of DuPage. She was active with the Girl Scouts in Lombard before moving in 1984 to Wilmington, where she was the owner of Lark's Nest Bed and Breakfast for the last five years. She also worked for Stimpert Inventory in Ohio.
