Kenneth Kinnemann
Kenneth E. Kinnemann, 85, of Beacon Hill in Lombard, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Beacon Hill.
Memorial service arrangements are pending.
Mr. Kinnemann was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was an active member and past president of the American Foundryman Association. He was a lifetime avid Cubs fan, and loved to garden and help out his neighbors.

Marilyn Meyer
Marilyn L. Meyer, nee McKim, 66, of Lombard, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. A graveside service was held Saturday, July 10, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Meyer was the wife of Don W., and mother of Kimberly K. and Kent of Lombard.
Mrs. Meyer was a resident of Lombard since 1965. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa and had taught many years for Elementary School District 44 at Lombard Junior High School.

Marilyn Overzet
Marilyn Overzet, nee Vandervelde, 66, of Elmhurst, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. William Miller officiating. Interment was at Bronswood Cemetery.
Mrs. Overzet was the wife of John; mother of Lawerence J. (Janet M.), Connie L. (Erlan II) Wheeler and Janice L. Lansu; grandmother of 11; sister of Grace (Bill) Wolbert, John (Sue), George (Ginger) and William (Judy) Vandervelde, and Theresa (Clare) Rietsma; and aunt of many.
Mrs. Overzet was a homemaker and had served as secretary/treasurer of Life Saving Ministries, Faithful Instructor in the Lord.

Gayle Peterson
Gayle L. Peterson, 72, of Lombard, died Monday, July 5, 2004 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 9, at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Stewart Pattison officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Peterson was the husband of Alice L.; father of Michael (Karen) of Lombard, Timothy (Ricki), Brent (Susan) and Kristen (William) Swanson; grandfather of five; and brother of Wendel (Jonette). He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Peterson.
Mr. Peterson was a resident of Lombard since 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a former member of the American Legion. He had retired in 1995 as a manager from H&R Block in Glen Ellyn, but had continued to work until the present. He had served on the Lombard United Way board and also the Lombard-Villa Park Food Pantry.

Mildred Savino
Mildred B. Savino, 95, of Lombard, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 in Downers Grove.
Funeral services will be held today, July 14, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside.
Mrs. Savino was the mother of Alfred P. (Barbara), grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of three. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred T.; and sisters, Antoinette, Emily, Mary and Madelyn.
Mrs. Savino had worked as a secretary/treasurer.

Stanley Smyk
Stanley J. Smyk Jr., 58, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mr. Smyk was the husband of Catherine A., father of Kevin J. (Kristin) and Matthew M. (Meribeth), grandfather of one, and brother of Roberta (Tony) born and Sue (Robert) Pearson.
Mr. Smyk was a resident of Lombard since 1973, except for three years in California. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He had worked for 25 years at Ameritech/SBC as a senior technical manager, and with Alcatel as a software engineer since 1997. He had been a scout master for Troop #242, was a former member of the Lombard Jaycees and had been active in the YMCA Indian Guides program. He had also helped with Germanfest at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard.

Robert Srachta Sr.
Robert A. Srachta Sr., 85, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Robert Duda officiating. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mr. Srachta was the husband of Alvina, father of Robert A. Jr. (Diane), grandfather of two, and great-grandfather of three. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce.
Mr. Srachta was a resident of Lombard since 1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had retired in 1980 as a tool and die maker for Chicago Extruded Metals in Cicero. He had been a former assistant scout master in the Boy Scouts.
Richard Vaccarello
Richard Vaccarello, 52, of Villa Park, formerly of Melrose Park, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Hines VA Hospital in Hines.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 11, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Vaccarello was the son of Virgie Vikara of Villa Park; brother of Diane Vaccarello, Cynnde Nielsen of Lombard, Joanne (Ronald) Bleeden and Ron (Sherry) Vikara of Villa Park; uncle of 10 nieces and nephews and great-uncle of 13 nieces and nephews; and nephew of Ruth Hendrix and others. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony J.; brother-in-law, Richard Nielsen; and uncle, Toby Hendrix.
Mr. Vaccarello was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served during the Vietnam War.
