Barbara Kwit
Barbara C. Kwit, 89, of Villa Park, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 1, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at St. Adalberts Cemetery.
Mrs. Kwit was the sister of Charles (Dolores) Varak, and aunt of several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and brothers, Frank, George (Bernice) and Ernie Varak.
Eloise Montgomery
Eloise Montgomery, nee Rudolph, 78, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Mark Post officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Montgomery was the mother of Donald (Karen), Pamela (Gary) Surges of Lombard and James (Deborah); grandmother of five; and sister of David (Margot) Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald.
Mrs. Montgomery had worked as a registered nurse.

Patricia Norkus
A memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at Christ the King Church in Lombard, for Patricia G. Norkus, nee Moxley, 76.
Mrs. Norkus was the wife of Alexander J.; mother of Alexander (Carol), Patricia (David) Rausch, Michael (Jill) and Carol Neff; grandmother of three; sister of Anna Lagios, Charles (Dolores) and James (Sandra); and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William (Virginia).
Donations to the Bishop Blanchette Scholarship Fund, c/o Council of Catholic Women, St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Center, 402 Independence, Romeoville, IL 60446, would be appreciated.

Louis Reynolds
Louis "Lou" Reynolds, 83, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at Genesis West Medical Center.
A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 1, at All Faith Chapel, Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Interment was at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Mr. Reynolds was the husband of Ruth, father of Cindy L. Winckler (Joseph) and Stephen M. (Pat), grandfather of five and great-grandfather of two.
Mr. Reynolds, who was raised by his aunt and uncle, Barney and Sue Hacker of Lombard, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II, when he served on the U.S.S. Yorktown, U.S.S. West Virginia and U.S.S. Longshaw. He was awarded the American Defense Medal, the American Area Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, a Purple Heart, a Victory Medal and 13 Battle Stars.
Mr. Reynolds retired in 1987 after working as a food inspector for the Iowa Department of Agriculture. He also owned and operated the snack shop at the Scott County Courthouse, and operated the restaurant at The Elks Club and Thirty Lanes, retiring in 1984. He served as past president of the Quad City Baseball Fans Association; and was a member of several Shrine organizations, The Elks, Disabled American Veterans, VFW, American Legion Post #26, Order of the Purple Heart, Tin Can Sailors, a U.S.S. Longshaw Survivors group, the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, AARP and the Quad City Times Plus 60 Club.
Memorials to the Transportation Fund of KAABA Shrine or to the family would be appreciated.
Vesta Stein
Vesta M. Stein, nee Muster, 99, of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 4, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Stephen Williams of First United Methodist Church in Lombard officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Stein was the mother of Charles W. "Bill" (Barbara) and Richard H. (Rosemary), grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of 26, great-great-grandmother of eight; and sister of Mary Myres. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M.; granddaughters, Debra Ogle and Margaret Stein; sister, Evelyn; and brother, William.
Mrs. Stein was a resident of Lombard for 55 years, and was formerly of Chicago and Ohio. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women group. She sang in the choir at Lexington Square, was a member of the Lombard Stamp Club, and was a former member of the Lombard Women's Club.

Mary Stimetz
Mary Rose Stimetz, 81, of Wheaton, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 in Lombard.
Visitation will be today, Oct. 6, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winfield. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Stimetz was the wife of Nicholas; mother of Maureen (the Rev. Stephen) Swanson, Francine (Dr. Craig) Anderson, Eileen (Dirk) Glass and Thomas; grandmother of 15; great-grandmother of four; sister of Helen (the late Jack) Cosgrove and John (Janet) Butterly; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stimetz was a homemaker.
Frances Vaughan
Frances M. Vaughan, nee Alexander, 89, of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaughan was the mother of Shirley Bunnell; mother-in-law of Clarice Vaughan, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of 13. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmers; and son, Ronald C.
Mrs. Vaughan was a homemaker.

Sara Black
Sara N. Black, nee Diliberto, 80, of Lombard, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Black was the mother of James R. of Lombard, Michael J. of Lombard, Mary A. (Frank) Sedlacek and Jeanne E.; grandmother of three; sister of Joseph (Josephine) Diliberto and Steve (Manya) Diliberto; and sister-in-law of Rose Diliberto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon James Jay Black; sister, Jenny Malanga; and brothers, Angelo, Carl and Peter Diliberto.
Mrs. Black, who was born in Italy, was a resident of Lombard since 1977 and was formerly of Berwyn. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Renew, Senior Citizens and the choir.
