Daniel Stoothoff
Daniel J. Stoothoff, 34, of Chicago, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 11, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Stoothoff was the son of Sally (Ed O'Meara) Stoothoff of Lombard and Bob (Cindy) Stoothoff, brother of David (Jessica), uncle of three nieces and nephews, and grandson of Millard J. Stoothoff.
Mr. Stoothoff grew up in Lisle and was a 1988 graduate of Downers Grove North High School. He was an honors graduate of Arizona State University in 1991, and had a career in the beverage industry, working as a marketing manager for Miller Brewing. He had lived in Chicago for two years, Lisle for 10 years and Downers Grove for two years.

Freda Vohs
Freda "Betty" Vohs, nee Gretenhardt, 90, of Arlington Heights, formerly of Villa Park, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Elton Heimsoth officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Vohs was the sister or Dorothy (Frank) Gryskiewicz, sister-in-law of Berth Gretenhardt, stepsister of Mildred Vance, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest G.; parents, Carl and Leopoldina; brothers, Erich and Herbert Gretenhardt; sister, Mary Tegtmeier; and August and Martha Beckman, who reared her.
Mrs. Vohs was born in Milwaukee, Wis.; lived with her family on a farm in Merrill, Wis.; and moved to Glen Ellyn in 1928, where she attended Glenbard High School. In 1942 she married and moved to the Bartlett/Elgin area, returning to Villa Park in 1963. She had worked for Automotive Electric G.T.E. as an inspector in both Chicago and Northlake, retiring in 1976 after 35 years.
Mrs. Vohs was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union Local #50, and was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in York Center.

Dorothy Allen
Dorothy M. Allen, 84, of Wheaton, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton.
Visitation and funeral services will be held today, Feb. 23, at the Leonard Memorial Home Ltd., 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Lesher officiating. Interment is at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Allen was the mother of Margo Horan and Sandra (Richard) Ballinger, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of six. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Horan.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker.
Lowell Brooks
Lowell H. Brooks, 84, of Manheim, Pa., formerly of Lombard, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim.
Mr. Brooks was the father of Beth and Barry (Carol), and grandfather of two. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and daughter, Lynn Marie.
Mr. Brooks was a resident of Lombard for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as an officer in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He helped manage the family grocery store in Britt, Iowa, following the war, and had worked for over 30 years as a sales manager for Container Corp. of America.

Alberta Chlapecka
Alberta M. Chlapecka, nee Hildebrandt, 86, of Beacon Hill in Lombard, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
Mrs. Chlapecka was the mother of Martin (Sandra), grandmother of three, great-grandmother of three, and sister-in-law of Helen (Ralph) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; brother, Henry Hildebrandt; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Martin (Matilda) Chalpeck, Sue (George) Fivek, Betty (George) Sklenicka, Lillian (Edward) Nemeth, Julia (Edward) Azzarello and Lorraine Chalpeck.
Mrs. Chlapecka was a homemaker.

Patricia Courtney
Patricia Courtney, nee Pisciotto, 50, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 in Lombard.
Visitation will be today, Feb. 23, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park, with the Rev. Robert Duda officiating. Interment is at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Courtney was the wife of Charles; mother of Kelly of Lombard and Jack of Lombard; daughter of Blanche Pisciotto; sister of Suzanne (Bruce) Blecha, Tony (Marianne) Pisciotto, Jackie (Walter) Bombka and John Pisciotto; and relative and friend to many, including her dog, Scruffy, and cat, Guiness. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Pisciotto.
Mrs. Courtney was a former student of Blackburn College in Carlinville, Ill. She loved her garden and growing plants, vegetables and flowers; enjoyed her country kitchen and swimming in her pool; enjoyed antiques and garage sales; and loved the band Jethro Tull.
Phyllis Dahm
Phyllis Dahm, 82, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, Ill.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin.
Mrs. Dahm was the mother of David and Dennis, and grandmother of three. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert M.; parents, Henry and Sara E. Shry; and two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Dahm was born in Lombard.

Jean Dekker
Funeral services for Jean J. "Kitty" Dekker, nee Hoyt, 72, of Lombard, were held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17 W 201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mrs. Dekker was the wife of John J. Jr., mother of Holly (Donald) Steward and Arlene (Steven) Larson, grandmother of five, great-grandmother of two, sister of Roberta (Robert) Schacht, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, John J. III (Susan).
