James Brazelton Sr.
James A. Brazelton Sr., 81, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at Grace Baptist Church in Lombard. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Brazelton was the husband of Holleen G.; father of April Lee (Pastor John) Dailey, Laura Lin (Phil) Moreno and James Austin Jr. (Marguerite); grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of one; and uncle and relative of many. He was preceded in death by his brother, Byron Lea Brazelton.
Mr. Brazelton was a resident of Lombard for 46 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II as a tail gunner in the 15th Army Air Force in Italy, N. Apennines, Po Valley, Rhineland and Air Combat Balkans. He had retired from AT&T after working as an engineer for 40 years.
Mr. Brazelton was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member and former deacon at Grace Baptist Church, a member of American Legion #391, a former member of the 15th Air Force Association, a member of the 2nd Bomb Group Association and a longtime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Memorials to the Baptist Children's Home, 354 West St., Valparaiso, IN 46383, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Christopher Burny
Christopher J. Burny, of Addison, formerly of River Forest, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 in Addison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at Lombard Bible Church in Lombard.
Mr. Burny was the father of Elisabeth, brother of Julie and Robert, and friend of Linda Jacobson and family of Lombard.
Mr. Burny worked as a painter for BK United Contractors in Carol Stream, and was a former employee of Dominick's Finer Foods.
Arrangements were made by DuPage Cremations Ltd.
Jacqueline Hanlon
Jacqueline A. Hanlon, 83, of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at Elmbrook Healthcare.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 15, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery in Elgin.
Mrs. Hanlon was the mother of William C. (Kris), Donna Lynn (Daniel) Horniacek and Thomas F.; grandmother of four; sister of Joseph (Jean) Chlup; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and brother, Robert (Barbara) Chlup.
Mrs. Hanlon was a homemaker.
Richard Heathershaw
Richard T. Heathershaw, 81, of Lombard, formerly of Wheaton and Chicago, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 in Downers Grove.
Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 20, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment is at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Heathershaw was the husband of Ann Marie; father of Tom (Lyn), Kathleen (Fred) Cannataro and Janice (Jack) Alesia; grandfather of five; brother of Mary Jean Heathershaw; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita; and brother, Jim Heathershaw.
Mr. Heathershaw had worked for many years at AT&T.

Josephine Kobart
Josephine M. Kobart, nee Van Eycke, 89, of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006 at Lexington Health Care Center.
A Mass of the Angels at Christ the King Church in Lombard, and private burial services, will be conducted by Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, at a later date.
Mrs. Kobart was the mother of Marguerite Loiacono of Lombard (Vincent of Naples, Fla.) and Richard J. (Carolyn), and grandmother of five. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H.
Mrs. Kobart worked for Simpson Electric Co. of Lac du Flambeau, Wis., for over 20 years as a mail room supervisor. After retiring from her home at Squirrel Lake in Minocqua, Wis., she and her husband traveled extensively in their motor home. They had also lived in Mission, Texas, and Green brier, Ariz., where they resided for about 14 years before coming back to the Lombard area in more recent years.
Emilia Leali
Emilia V. Leali, 95, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 24, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 25, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Leali was the mother of Judith (Vincent) Fabis, Bob (Janet) and William (AnnMarie); grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 11; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and siblings, Bruno Starus and Sophie Beckwith.
Mrs. Leali was a homemaker.

Charles Matthewson
Charles A. Matthewson, of Lombard, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 at Hines V.A. Hospital in Hines.
A memorial visitation and service will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Matthewson was the father of Susan (Navi) Dowty, grandfather of three, brother of Mildred Violette and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and son, Albert.
Mr. Matthewson was retired after working as an auto body and fender repair technician. He was a member of Automotive Mechanics Local #701.
