Ruth Roloff
Ruth E.L. Roloff, nee League, 96, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006 at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
Mrs. Roloff was the sister-in-law of Maxine League, aunt of four nephews, and great-aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E.; and brothers, Warren and Robert League.
Mrs. Roloff was a resident of Lombard since 1911. She had worked at General Electric; was a member of the Lombard Bible Church, Church of Christ Lombard Women's Club and was a former member of the Lilac Town Seniors.
Memorials to the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library, 110 W. Maple St., Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.
Sarah Simpson
Sarah V. Simpson, nee Vinson, 77, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 15, at First United Methodist Church in Lombard. Interment was at Flomaton Cemetery in Flomaton, Ala.
Mrs. Simpson was the mother of Jack (Nimfa), Tom (Sarah) and Paul (Kris); and grandmother of four.
Mrs. Simpson was a resident of Lombard since 1972. She graduated as a valedictorian from Flomaton High School, Drake University with a B.A. in education/history and Northern Illinois University with an M.S. in library science, and had worked as a librarian for Glenbard East High School from 1972-91.
Mrs Simpson was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Lombard, where she had been a lay leader, president of the United Methodist Women and church librarian. She received an honorary life membership for Special Mission Recognition from her church in 1998, and a service award for "Outstanding Service Through Ministries of the Church" in 1992.
Mrs. Simpson was involved in the Methodist Women's Book Group, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship and later was coordinator of the church's food pantry. She enjoyed theater, art and travel with friends; and devoted her time volunteering for and supporting various community, social and environmental causes.

Roumane Weinert
Roumane C. "Ace" Weinert, 81, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be today, Sept. 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Weinert was the husband of Frances; father of Steven (La Rae), Michael (Cynthia), Joel (Joan), David (Andrea), Sharon (Richard) Schmidt, Susan (Bradley) Oberling and Tina (Joseph) Conte; grandfather of 23; great-grandfather of eight; brother of Ruth (Dick) Wittenberg; brother-in-law of Delores Weinert; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bertha Weinert of Lombard; and brother, Walter Jr.
Mr. Weinert was a resident of Lombard for 79 years. He was a graduate of St. John's Lutheran School and Glenbard (West) High School in 1943. He had worked as a mechanic for Peckat Buick in Maywood; and was a member of St. John's, where he was confirmed in 1939, was a longtime member of the finance committee and was part of the Adult Bible Class.
Mr. Weinert enjoyed traveling; woodworking; and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran School Building Fund, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.
Ruth Block
Ruth E. Block, nee Holmstrom, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006.
A private memorial and celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Block was the mother of Judith (Peter) Scholten, grandmother of two, and great-grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and parents, Philip E. and Anna Holmstrom.
Mrs. Block was a resident of Aurora since 2001, and was formerly of Lombard for 32 years and Hammond, Ind., for 14 years.

Marilyn Broholm
Marilyn L. Broholm, nee Paskon, 60, of Bunker, Mo., formerly of Bolingbrook, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 in Missouri.
A memorial gathering was held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private at Beverly Cemetery.
Mrs. Broholm was the wife of Anthony Guillen, mother of Chris (Frances) of Lombard and Kimberlee (Scott) Broholm, grandmother of two, step-grandmother of two, sister of Bobbi Paskon, aunt of one, and daughter of Wanda Paskon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Broholm; and father, Walter Paskon.
Mrs. Broholm had been a resident of Missouri for four years and was formerly of Bolingbrook since 1971.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
Leonard Cecola
Leonard Cecola, 53, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 23, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Villa Park, with the Rev. Charles Emery officiating. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery.
Mr. Cecola was the husband of Linda; father of Michelle (David) Smith, Robert and Natalie; son of Frank; brother of Marlene (Louis) Mocnik, Phillip Igaravidez and Debra Gaston; and uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Cecola.
Mr. Cecola had worked as a truck driver for a construction company. He was a member of Villa Park Masonic Lodge #1113 AF&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star in Elmhurst.
Memorials to Shriners Children's Hospital would be appreciated.

Betty Cummings
Betty Cummings, nee Nangle, 80, of Lombard, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 23, at Christ the King Catholic Church, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Cummings was the mother of Donald (Paulette), Colleen (Edward) Altott, Kevin and Edward; grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of three; sister of Donald (Rosemary) Nangle; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and cousin of two. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Bud"; parents, Joseph A. and Libby Nangle; and granddaughter, Kara Cummings.
Mrs. Cummings was a Lombard resident for 45 years. She was a 1944 graduate of Providence High School in Chicago, and had worked in data input for AT&T, formerly Illinois Bell.
