Erin Katherine Pierce, 23, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 20, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Pierce was the wife of Aaron, mother of Kerri, daughter of Peter Abate, sister of Erica Abate, daughter-in-law of Lane and Cynthia Pierce, and relative and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kerry (Paul) Mahoney.
Richard Yelm
Richard W. Yelm, 89, of Lombard, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Yelm was the father of Robert A. (Andrea) of Lombard, and brother of Robert C. (Audrey). He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie R.; and companion, Doris Doroba.
Mr. Yelm was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. He was a member of Aero Telemechanics R/C Club and Knights of Columbus Assumption Council #3671 in Bellwood.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Emil Centanni
Emil Centanni, 91, of Sparta and Tomah, Wis., formerly of Lombard, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Home in Tomah.
Visitation will be today, Sept. 27, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, at the funeral home. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Centanni was the father of Dale (Pam), grandfather of three, great-grandfather of seven, and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet E.; and son, Dean.
Mr. Centanni had lived in Lombard over 40 years and moved to Wisconsin in 2003. He had worked as the custodian at First Church of Lombard for many years, and had been very active at the Lombard Bible Church.
Herman Converso
Funeral services for Herman L. Converso, 86, of Villa Park, were held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006 at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Converso was the father of Debbie Cerone, Renee (Mike) Aubin, Patrick (Lonna) and Rosemarie Williams; grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of two; and uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; son, Joseph; and brother, William Converso.
Memorials to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
Merlin Dipert
Merlin H. Dipert, 88, of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Dipert was the father of Judy K. (Charles) Schmidt and Jerry J. (Deborah), grandfather of four, great-grandfather of one, and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Evelyn and Eugenia; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mr. Dipert was a resident of Lombard for 15 years and was formerly a resident of Villa Park from 1955-90. He was born in Grovertown, Ind., where he was a graduate of Grovertown High School. He received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis), and received his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Indiana, Bloomington. He was retired after working as a mathematician and had worked at Argonne National Laboratory from 1954-71, and for the Environmental Protection Agency from 1971-80.

Lucille Harvey
Lucille B. Harvey, nee Kinderknecht, 86, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006 in Mckinney, Texas.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 23, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Harvey was the mother of Gregory (Colette) Johnson, and grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin; and siblings, Claire Mae, Mae Louise, Robert, Jimmie, Edward, John, Nick, Mary, Irene, Eleanor, Clarence, William, Lawrence, Wilhelmina and Olinda.
Marian Heinz
Marian Heinz, 73, of Gwinn, Mich., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at Marquette General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25, at Gwinn Funeral Home in Gwinn, with the Rev. Charles L. Tooman officiating.
Mrs. Heinz was the wife of Albert; mother of Rita McGuire, Tim (Diana), Bobbi (Bill) Coley of Lombard and Cherri of Lombard; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of one; sister of Jeanne Markus and William (Marge) Semmens; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marry Semmens; and son-in-law, Michael "Mac" McGuire.
Mrs. Heinz was born in Chicago, and moved to the Upper Peninsula area in 1978, where she enjoyed living. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, communicating with friends via e-mail and going on drives around Presque Isle; and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren have fun at Bertrand Lake.
Memorials to the Lake Superior Hospice Association or Bay Cliff Health Camp would be appreciated.
Eleanor Kufke
Eleanor R. Kufke, nee Spencer, 77, of Bloomingdale, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 23, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park, with the Rev. Richard Kenny officiating. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Kufke was the mother of Lora Vogt and Bette, grandmother of four, great-grandmother of two, and sister of Lyle (Nancy) Spencer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C.; son, David; and sister, Phyllis (the late Lawrence) Strahs.
Mrs. Kufke was very active at Addison Bible Church, where she had served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She was very craft-oriented and loved to sew, do needlepoint, paint ceramic houses and other things; and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and baby-sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Kowalski
Funeral services for Evelyn B. Kowalski, nee Gadek, 82, of Windsor Park Manor, formerly of Lombard, were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 415 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mrs. Kowalski was the wife of Gene; mother of Gregory (Jaqueline), Gary (Myrna), Gordon (Laurie), Glenn (Julie) and Geoffrey; grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of six; sister of Edmund (Shirley) Gadek and Emily (the late (Stanley) Zywanski; and relative and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank (the late Genevieve) Gadek.
