John Allen
John R. Allen, 60, of West Chicago, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 in West Chicago.
A memorial gathering was held Thursday, Jan. 4, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mr. Allen was the father of John (Susie), Mark (Shana) and Rob (Jodi); grandfather of three; son of Lillian C.; brother of Ruth (Richard) Peltier and Pat (Gus) Jensen; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and sisters, JoAnn Weiss and Carrie Allen.
Mr. Allen was a resident of West Chicago for 20 years. He was a graduate of Willowbrook High School and had attended Willow Creek Community Church for many years.
John Bockmier
John R. Bockmier, 70, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 6, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Bockmier was the father of Terra (the late Carl) Mortensen and Jack P.; stepfather of Diana (David) Aubin, Donna (Tony) Ramirez and Doreen (John) Smith; and grandfather of three.
Mr. Bockmier was an amateur ham radio enthusiast.
Karen Evans
Karen Lee Evans, nee Lundsgaard, 66, of Darien, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at Rush University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 10, at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Stewart Pattison officiating. Interment is private.
Mrs. Evans was the wife of Clint; mother of Michelle (Jim) Eiden and Lisa (Jim) Elder; grandmother of three; sister of Tom (Mary Jane) Lundsgaard; sister-in-law of Bill (Sandy), Sherry (Cliff) Beato, Jim (Velvet) and Larry (Frank); and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alf and Evelyn Lundsgaard.
Mrs. Evans was the director of The Growing Place at Community Presbyterian Church for 36 years.
Memorials to the Lung Cancer Research Fund, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 1700 W. Harrison St., Suite 250, Chicago, IL 60612, would be appreciated.

Laurel Fleming
Laurel Richardson Fleming, 57, of Irvine, Calif., died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 in Irvine.
An informal gathering in Fleming's honor will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Maple Street Chapel in Lombard, followed by refreshments at the Richardson family home in Lombard.
A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 27, in Irvine.
Mrs. Fleming was the wife of Michael; mother of Darrell and Brandon; daughter of Hazelle Richardson; sister of Dale (Karen), Jan Robert and Carolyn Hogan; sister-in-law of Mark (Roberta), Steven (Renee) Fleming and Dana Huff; and aunt of seven. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Richardson.
Mrs. Fleming was a 1967 graduate of Glenbard East High School and a 1969 graduate of the American Academy of Art. She enjoyed a lifelong career in the travel industry.
Donations in Mrs. Fleming's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
Michael MacDougall
Michael J. MacDougall, 52, of Glendale Heights, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 in Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 10, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is at Oakridge Cemetery.
Mr. MacDougall was the husband of Cathy, father of Mariah (Charles) Ramey and Michael C., grandfather of two, brother of Susan (Greg) Panzarella and Kathy (Tony) Abruzzo, and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judson and Kathleen MacDougall; and sister, Maureen Wylie.
Mr. MacDougall was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Leo McGee
Leo P. McGee, 82, of Villa Park, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 in Villa Park.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 9, at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. McGee was the husband of Mary; father of Patricia (Jay) Krush, Janice DePew, David (Pamela), Barbara (Ron) Steffens, James (Susan), Kathleen (James) Latz, Carol (Mark) Kramer and Joseph; grandfather of 19; and brother of Bernard, Mary Long and Claralou Flattery. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, James Ed, Francis "Pete" and John; and sister, Theresa Ann Conley.
Mr. McGee was retired after working as engineer for heavy equipment.
Thomas Scanlon
Thomas Scanlon, 74, of Lombard, formerly of Beverly, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 in Lombard.
A memorial Mass was held Saturday, Jan. 6, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Scanlon was the brother of Myles and Bernard; cousin of M. Theresa Kelly of Lombard, Christopher of Lombard, Thomas of Lombard, Matthew Kelly, Marie Kelly Montroy of Lombard and Claire Kelly Metcalf.
Mr. Scanlon was a resident of Lombard since 2001.

Donald Schlottman
Donald E. Schlottman, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006.
A private gathering will be held on Jan. 22, 23 and 24.
Mr. Schlottman was the husband of Rose; father of Fredrick, Dwight, Craig and Carolyn; and grandfather and great-grandfather of many.
Mr. Schlottman served with Dwight D. Eisenhower at Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force during World War II as a member of Eisenhower's Message Control. While at the German surrender in Rheims, France, he typed up the original VE-Day message to be sent stateside, announcing the end of the war in Europe.
Mr. Schlottman loved the great outdoors, especially fishing and snowmobiling. He had a second home in Wisconsin.
