Nicholas a. DiBartolo
Nicholas A. DiBartolo, 64, of Lombard, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 28, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. DiBartolo was the brother of Linda (Ron Annala) DiBartolo, and cousin of many. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice DiBartolo.
Gilbert Helfers
Gilbert Helfers, 69, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale.
Visitation will be today, Jan. 31, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Funeral services and interment were private.
Mr. Helfers was the stepbrother of Catherine Jonas, Matt Jonas, Marylin Willits and Carolynn Jonas; and cousin of many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Diedrich and Lillian Helfers.
Ellen Leonhardt
Ellen D. Leonhardt, nee Massello, 90, of Lombard, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 at Beacon Hill Health Center in Lombard.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Leonhardt was the mother of Kenneth (Janice), grandmother of two, great-grandmother of three, and sister of Raymond Massello. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M.; brother, Louis; and sister, Hazel Linback.
Mrs. Leonhardt was a resident of Beacon Hill for seven years, of Glen Ellyn for 10 years and formerly of Ohio. She had worked as the branch manager for National City Bank in Ohio, and was a former member of Village Green Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Ruth Marquardt
Ruth L. Marquardt, nee Barrow, 89, of Lombard, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 25, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison, with the Rev. James Zimmerman officiating. Interment was at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Marquardt was the sister-in-law of Selma (the late Erwin) Meyer, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin.
Mrs. Marquardt was a homemaker.
Memorials to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 37 Army Trail Road, Addison, IL 60101, would be appreciated.
Arline Moorhead
Arline A. Moorhead, 67, of Glen Ellyn, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 in Glen Ellyn.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 25, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Moorhead was the mother of Wendy (David), Penny (Glenn) Griffin, Kelly and Holly (Leonard) Paladino; grandmother of seven; and sister of Linda (Phil) Buerk and Jane Hockstad.
Mrs. Moorhead was retired after working as a Circuit Court clerk.
Lucy Owens
Lucy M. Owens, 86, of Lombard, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at Beacon Hill Health Center in Lombard.
Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Owens was the mother of Greg and Steve (Theresa), and grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Jr.
Mrs. Owens had been a resident of Lombard since 1952 and of Beacon Hill since 2002. She was a member of the First Church of Lombard since 1954, and a member of the Lombard Woman's Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Maple Street Chapel would be appreciated.
Emily Berg
Emily Berg, nee Benyo, 94, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Lexington Health Care in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 28, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
Mrs. Berg is survived by her son, George (Sally); three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and niece, Sharon Danko.
Mrs. Berg was a resident of Lombard for 24 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Merit Hospice, 1300 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.
David Heringa
David G. Heringa, 55, of Auburn, Wash., formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at Yahn and Sons Funeral Home in Auburn, followed by a reception. Interment is at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
Mr. Heringa is survived by his wife, Erlinda; children, France (Jongi) Ledbetter, Jeannette and Jimmy Sales; four grandchildren; siblings, Pat and Roy (Joyce) Heringa; four nieces; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Helen Heringa; and son, Referendo Sales.
Mr. Heringa grew up in Lombard, where he attended Glenbard East High School. He graduated from St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Maurice McGuire
Maurice L. McGuire, 94, of Evanston, formerly of Lombard and Lake Summerset, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Westminster Place in Evanston.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
Mr. McGuire is survived by his daughters, Maureen (Charles) Poremba and Kathleen (Robert) Dove; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M.; son, Michael E.; and granddaughter, Karen (Ed) Cabral.
Mr. McGuire was a resident of Lombard from 1940-88, Lake Summerset from 1988-2002, and Evanston since then. He was born in Clio, Iowa, and grew up in Delta, Iowa. He graduated from Delta High School in 1930 and from the University of Iowa in 1934. He had worked as an IRS agent from 1938-74, was a current member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lombard from 1940 until the present.
