Evelyn E. Tintera
Evelyn E. Tintera, 86, of Naperville and formerly a resident of Cicero for more than 80 years, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. She was born June 17, 1915, in Chicago.
She is survived by a sister, Florence Gillespie of Cicero; three nieces, Catherine (husband Ron) Paul, Mary (husband Rich) Kozerski and Joanne (husband Kim) Mniszewski; five grand-nieces; and two grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jennie (Kopecky) Tintera.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 10 a.m.Friday, Oct. 12, followed by a funeral Mass of Christian burial, at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville.
Interment will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Patrick's Residence.

Gloria A. Schilling
Gloria A. Schilling, 74, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at her home in Oswego. She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Huntington County, Ind.
The daughter of Floyd and Berneice Wygant, she was active in the Kane County Flea Market Association and the Edward Hospital Volunteers Guild in Naperville.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Schilling of Tucson, Ariz., Emily (husband Bruce) Sansone of Corona Del Mar, Calif., and Janey (husband Rich) Meyer of Hazelwood, Mo.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Wygant of Plymouth, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo L. Schilling, who was president of North Central College in Naperville from 1965 to 1980.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Oswego United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 5 W. Washington St., with the Rev. Fred C. Eisenhut officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for cancer research to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75256-0309.
Carol J. Thomas
Carol J. Thomas, 68, of Minocqua, Wis., having moved there in 1995 from Naperville, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, in Aurora, Colo. She was born March 5, 1933, in Wausau, Wis.
She married
Eugene Thomas on July 3, 1954, in Wausau. She enjoyed living on the water in Minocqua, engaging in water sports and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Jeffrey S. (wife Gari) Thomas of Tucker, Ga.; one daughter, Pamela J. (husband Dan) Harlan of Aurora, Colo.; one granddaughter; and a sister, Irene (husband Leander) Schoepke of Wausau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1997; and her parents, Albert and Melida (Luetschwager) Golz.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minocqua. A funeral service will be follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Pastor Mary Wienkauf will officiate.
Interment will be at Forest Garden cemetery in Wausau.

Edith E. Jones
Edith E. Jones, 92, of The Holmstad in Batavia died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Michealsen Health Center in Batavia. She was born March 18, 1909, in Naperville.
She earned a bachelor's and a master's in education. She taught physical education for 38 years at Proviso West High School in Hillside. She met her dear friend, Miriam Fager, in the 1940s when they served together on a state committee of the Girls Athletic Association. Together, they moved to The Holmstad. There she enjoyed flower gardening, crafts and all kinds of sports. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by Miriam Fager and many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carrie (Hartman) Jones; a brother, F. Everett Jones; and two sisters, Eleanor J. Beck and Eileen J. Bapst.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Naperville cemetery. The Rev. Donna Nelson officiated.

Holly Elizabeth Yakel
Holly Elizabeth (Headley) Yakel, 34, of Coppell, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001. She was born May 29, 1967, in Morristown, N.J.
A survivor of brain cancer for 11 years, she spent her last few months at home surrounded and being cared for by loving family members and friends.
She lived in Danville, Calif., Stevens Point, Wis., and Glen Arm, Md., before moving to Plano, Texas, in 1982. She was a 1985 graduate of Plano Senior High School, attended Arizona State University and received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1989. Since graduation, she had been employed by Delta Airlines as a flight attendant.
Besides traveling, she enjoyed sailing with her husband, Craig, on Lake Texoma, giving her time to the Clothes Closet at the Northgate United Methodist Church of Irving, Texas, and vacationing with her family on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
She is survived by her husband; her parents, Peter and Jodi Headley of Naperville; her twin sister, Hope (husband Paul) Glassmyer of Johnson City, Tenn.; her brothers, Kip (wife Donna) Headley of New York City and Todd (wife Julie) Headley of Vienna, Va.; her grandmother, for whom she was named, Elizabeth J. Headley, 96, of Newton, N.J.; and five nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being made for a memorial service to be held in Dallas.

Arthur T. Horbacz
Arthur T. "Art" Horbacz, 75, a resident of Downers Grove for five years and formerly a longtime resident of Chicago, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Fairview Baptist Home in Downers Grove. He was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Chicago.
He grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Kelly High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He married
Lottie Malak in 1948. He lived in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood of Chicago for many years and was a member of St. Daniel Catholic Church in Chicago. He was employed by Goss Printing Co. in Cicero for 32 years. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was an accomplished handyman.
He is survived by a son, Randy (wife Heidi) Horbacz of Naperville; two grandsons, Jeff and Chris Horbacz; a sister, Lucille Jones of Salt Lake City; a brother-in-law, Chester (wife Jean) Filipowicz of Clarendon Hills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie (Malak) Horbacz, in 1977; three sisters, Charlotte Zajicek, Ruth Filipowicz and Gertrude Weglarz; and a brother, Benny Horbacz.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A service will begin with prayers at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the funeral home and proceed to a 9:30 a.m. funeral service at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Interment will take place at a later date at Resurrection cemetery in Justice.

Alejandro Juarez
Alejandro Juarez, 23, a Naperville resident for six months and a former resident of Lisle, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Naperville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Aug. 11, 1978, in Atlixco, Mexico.
He came to the United States in 1996 and lived in Lisle. He was employed by Baccino's Pizza and M'Lady Tropical Clean Car Center, both in Naperville. He enjoyed dancing and loved his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Maria De La Luz of Mexico; eight siblings, Luis, Rene, Mario, Abel, Natividad, Soledad, Arturo and Silvia; numerous nieces and nephews; his maternal grandparents, Dominga and Procoro Serrano; and a special friend, Elizabeth Linares.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Juarez.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 440 E. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, with the Rev. Thomas Cargo officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
Interment will take place in Atlixco.

James E. Kaspar
James E. Kaspar, 66, a Naperville resident since 1965, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at home. He was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Chicago.
He was a graduate of DePaul University. He earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago. He was owner and operator of numerous metal finishing companies. He was a former member of the Naperville Jaycees, an avid private pilot, a partner in S.S.Y. Flite Inc. and a member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Naperville.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Kaspar of Naperville; two daughters, Alicia (husband Jeff) Davis of Plainfield and Andrea Kaspar of Naperville; a granddaughter, Jessica Davis; a sister, Nancy (husband Tom) Obrenski of Burbank; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Mrozek of Naperville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Stacia Kaspar; and his father-in-law, John Mrozek.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Interment will be private.

Stephanie Lessner
Stephanie Lessner, 90, a resident of Naperville and former resident of the Bridgeport area of Chicago, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. She was born March 24, 1912, in Chicago.
She had worked for the city of Chicago in the building department for more than years.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane M. (husband Patrick) Fitzgerald of Bolingbrook and Corinne Lessner of Chicago; five grandchildren, Kathleen (husband Stuart) Schafer, Deborah (husband Robert) Bristow, Daniel Lessner, Christine Fitzgerald and Lory (husband Brad) Toney; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin and Kristina; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna (Svirna) Paulauskas; her husband, George Lessner; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Suzanne Fitzgerald.
A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.
Interment will take place at St. Casimir cemetery in Chicago.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Residence.

Louis Recine
Louis Recine, 78, of Naperville died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born May 15, 1923, in Chicago.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from the city of Chicago after 40 years of service and had been an employee at Edward Hospital for more than 30 years. He was a member and usher at Bethany Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Recine; three sons, Mark Ruehl of Oak Park, Louis Recine of Eau Claire, Wis., and Dean (wife Leslie) Recine of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Dawn (husband Al) Soza of Naperville; five grandchildren, Brittany, David, Cara, Chelsea and Chloe; a sister, Maryanne Molliconi of Westchester; and a brother, Dominic Recine of Berkeley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Angelina Recine.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1550 Modaff Road, Naperville. The Rev. Terry McReynolds will officiate.
Interment will be at Naperville cemetery.
