Pamela J. Sowers
Pamela J. (Stenger) Sowers, 55, a resident of Naperville since 1984, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at her home. She was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Defiance, Ohio.
She was involved with the Boy Scouts and the Tough Love support group. She enjoyed going to Aerosmith concerts, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas W. Sowers of Naperville; two sons, Justin Douglas Sowers and Jason Ward Sowers; three brothers, Stanley Charles (wife Donna) Stenger of Van Nuys, Calif., James Lee Stenger of Simi Valley, Calif., and Robert Alan (wife Dara) Stenger of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Ann (husband Phil) Hassig of Pasa Robles, Calif.; and her parents-in-law, Robert R. and Meryle Sowers of Bonita Springs, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton L. and Jeanne M. (Serrick) Stenger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
A service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Naperville cemetery.

Roger L. Springborn
Roger L. Springborn, 47, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Naperville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2004. He was born Sept. 12, 1956, in Aurora to Sheila (Johnson) and Donald Springborn.
He graduated from Naperville Central High School. Before he entered the military, he worked for Naperville Township. He spent most of his adult life in the military, serving in the Army overseas in the military police. He was a member of the SPFPA Local 127 and the Disabled American Veterans-Commanders Club. After he retired from the military, he was a security policeman at Cape Canaveral. He loved to bowl and golf, and he lived each day to the fullest. He loved his wife, daughters and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karin (Schoenleben), and his daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, all of Orlando; his mother, Sheila Springborn of Naperville; his brothers, Jerry (wife Gail), Tom (wife Peg), Howard, Jon (wife Sue) and Bob (wife Jenny) Springborn; his sisters, Connie (husband Fred) Springborn, Cathy (husband John) Murr, Kay (husband Ed) Drafke and Carol (husband Scot) Mersman, all of Illinois; his mother- and father-in-law, Herbert and Ida Schoenleben, a sister-in-law, Ingrid (husband Edmund) Faerber, brothers-in-law Theo and Peter Schoenleben, and a sister-in-law, Andrea (husband Klaus) Kolb, all of Germany; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Springborn.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Interment will be private.
A funeral service was also held Saturday, July 31, in Orlando, Fla., and the flags at the Kennedy Space Center were flown at half-staff in Roger's honor.

Kenneth L. Schobert
Kenneth L. Schobert, 76, a Naperville resident since 1947, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Community Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Naperville. He was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Omaha, Neb.
He was a cab driver for Naperville Cab Co. from 1958 to 1996, when he retired. He also had worked for DuPage Precision and Hower Miller Machine Co., both in Naperville. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Naperville.
He is survived by two sons, Charles (wife Mary Beth George) Schobert of Madison, Wis., and Christopher (wife Tricia) Schobert of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Carol Ruth (husband Timothy) Johnson of Rockford; three grandchildren, Hannah and Hans Schobert of Chattanooga and Tristan Schobert George of Madison; two brothers, Ralph (wife Doris) Schobert of Plattsmouth, Neb., and William (wife Edith) Schobert of Springfield, Neb.; a sister, Susan Charlton of Baton Rouge, La.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel (Elwell) Schobert; a sister, Ruth McCamley; and a nephew, Richard Charlton.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center St., Naperville, with the Rev. Jane Eesley officiating.
Interment will be private.

William E. Brinkley
William Eugene Brinkley II, 22, of Lockport died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Hinsdale Hospital. He was born July 24, 1980, in Denver.
He is survived by his parents, Esther (husband Rich) Creighton of Bolingbrook and William (wife Marie) Brinkley of Lockport; six siblings, Natalie Brinkley, Kathy (husband Kurt) Muelier, Laurie Brinkley, Lenny Przysucha, Jocelyn Przysucha and Julianna Przysucha; and his grandparents, Virginia Allen, Eugene Brinkley and Katherine Candella.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Theodore Crawford.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Naperville Bible Church, 1320 E. Chicago St., Naperville.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the church. The Rev. John Bell and the Catherine Reeves will officiate.

Matthew M. Butler
Matthew M. Butler, 16, a former resident of Naperville, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Philadelphia. He was born March 22, 1988, in Philadelphia.
Matthew moved to Naperville from New Jersey in September 1989 and went to Ranch View Elementary School and Kennedy Junior High and was a student at Naperville Central High School until 2003, when he moved back to Philadelphia.
Matthew is survived by his twin brother, Brian Butler; his father, Robert Butler; a sister, Lauren Butler; his grandfather, Stanley Lupina of Bridgeview; his grandmother, Florence Butler of Philadelphia; his aunts and uncles, Patricia Lupina of Woodridge, Leon and Danita Lupina of Naperville, Thomas Lupina and financeé Deborah Granata of Batavia and Susan and Wasil Hontscharik of Philadelphia; and seven cousins, Allison Miyar, Noelle and Chloe Lupina, Louis Coletta, Melissa Lee, Steven Coletta and Noah Miyar.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Butler; a stepbrother, Robert Butler; his grandmother, Irene Lupina; and his grandfather, Winfield Butler.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 2220 Lisson Road, Naperville.

Arlene M. (Lupina) Butler
Arlene M. (Lupina) Butler, 50, a 13-year resident of Naperville, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at ManorCare Health Services in Westmont. She was born July 15, 1952, in Chicago.
She grew up in Bridgeview and was a 1970 graduate of Argo High School. She married
Robert F. Butler in 1978, and they lived in New Jersey for 13 years before moving to Naperville.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Naperville; a daughter, Lauren Butler of Naperville; twin sons, Brian and Matthew Butler of Naperville; her father, Stanley Lupina of Bridgeview; three siblings, Thomas (fiancee Deborah Granata) Lupina of Batavia, Patricia Lupina of Woodridge and Leon (wife Danita) Lupina of Naperville; six nieces and nephews, Allison, Chloe, Noelle, Melissa, Stephen and Louie; a great-nephew, Noah; her mother-in-law, Florence Butler of Philadelphia; and a sister-in-law, Sue (husband Wasil) Hontcharik of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene (Nowak) Lupina.
A service and interment were private.

Diane L. Chevrie
Diane L. Chevrie, 42, a resident of Glen Ellyn and former resident of Naperville, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Wheaton. She was born July 18, 1960, in San Diego.
She was a graduate of Naperville Central High School.
She is survived by her parents, Helen and Charles, and three siblings, Christine, Elizabeth and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doreen Chevrie.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.
Interment will be private.

Joan L. Wilander
Joan L. (Davis) Wilander, 71, a Naperville resident since 1984, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born Jan. 11, 1932, in New York City.
She was born and raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. She married
Robert Wilander on June 18, 1955. They were residents of Boonton Township, N.J., before coming to Naperville. She was a member of Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville and Pelican Nest Golf Club in Bonita Springs, Fla. She enjoyed golden retrievers, playing golf and, most of all, her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Wilander of Naperville; three daughters, Susan (husband Michael) McDermott of Los Angeles, Robin (husband Andrew) Wodzisz of Geneva and Cindy (husband Kevin) Ebel of Normal; a son, Steven (wife JoAnn) Wilander of Aurora; nine grandchildren, Danny, Steve, Meghan, Shannon, Chris, Jamie, Matthew, Jack and Ben; two step-grandchildren, Angie (husband John) Wojcik of Batavia and Toni Ruble of Aurora; and two step-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillian Davis.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Thomas B. Ralston
Thomas Batten Ralston, 63, a longtime resident of Oak Park, Elmhurst, Addison and Wood Dale, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville after a battle with cancer.
He had been a computer analyst, a former child actor, an Army veteran, a comedic writer, a trivia buff and an ace puzzle solver.
He is survived by three daughters, Gesine Ralston, Elise (husband Robert) Amaya and Erin Ralston; a stepson, Tilman Scherbes; and agranddaughter, Morgan Amaya.
A memorial celebration (Scottish wake) will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Ki's Restaurant, 705 North Ave., Glendale Heights.

Charles W. Young Jr.
Charles W. Young Jr., 82, a resident of Sebring, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Sebring. He was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Louisville, Ky.
He was a retired Presbyterian minister and retired from Pennsylvania Gas Co. He was a graduate of North Central College and Evangelical Theological Seminary of Naperville. He also did postgraduate work at Union Theological Seminary of New York.
He is survived by his wife, June, of Sebring; four daughters, Amy (husband Michael) Young Ellis of Lake Placid, Fla., Cheryl and Laura Young and Linda Young Puckett of Oregon; a granddaughter, Emma; three grandsons, Christopher, Bruce and Trevor; a sister, Shirley (husband Robert) Young Hoffman of Naperville; four nieces, Marilyn Gutowski of Jeffersonville, Ind., Susan Keller of Macungie, Pa., Sarah K. Westerman and Laura Kostellic of LaSalle; and three nephews, David and Steve Hoffman of Naperville and Kenneth Miller of Jeffersonville.
A memorial service took place Tuesday, Jan. 7, at First Baptist Church in Lake Placid.
A private family memorial service in Naperville will be held at a later date.
Interment was at Naperville cemetery.
June E. Young
June E. Young, 83, of Naperville died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Provena Pine View Health Center in St. Charles. She was born June 23, 1921, in Chicago and moved to Naperville in 1966.
She was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Naperville; was employed by Sears, working in Chicago and Naperville for several years; and was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (husband Lee) Mirabelli of St. Charles and Cheryl (husband Gerald) Wohlers of Geneva; a son, Keith (wife Wendy) Young of Lincolnshire; nine grandchildren, Tracey (husband Paul) Lipinis, Mindy Mirabelli, Carrie (husband Tim) Croft, Tammie Page, Tim (wife Niki) Wohlers and Kyle, Lauren, Taylor and Ashley Young; five great-grandchildren, Kristin Lipinis and Paul Lipinis Jr., Nicholas and Madeline Rose Croft and Megan Wohlers; a brother, Henry Verboomen of Naperville; a sister, Norma (husband Gordon) Nelson of New Lenox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence E. Young, and her parents, Henry and Ethel Verboomen.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Additional visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home, followed by funeral services.
Interment will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Woods cemetery in Chicago.
