A Thanks to the Lord
We loved Jane, we love her still
And God's love for her also became ours.
Much too suddenly she left us -
Yet we know the Lord remains able
To finish in her the work that He began.
Though her absence leaves an aching void,
We are not without comfort and certainty.
We loved her each day she was given to us;
And trust that days to be with her
Are yet coming.
She has added so much to our lives,
And has yet a further part to play.
She was given as a blessing by God
And remains the means of blessing still.
We thank the Lord for all she became
And for all she will become.
O Lord, Jane was Your gift to us
And she gave her heart to You.
We thank You, Lord, for her.
You were her Lord,
She was always Your treasure
And You allowed her to become ours
As well.
