KEWANEE - Robert D. “Tuffy” DeReu, 80, of Kewanee, died at 8:35 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Scottsville, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 11 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee.
Fr. Jerry Rafalko will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, September 10 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council.
Memorials can be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
He was born on March 19, 1932 in Atkinson, IL, the son of Virgil and Blanche (Bickers) DeReu.
He was first married to Joyce L. Wiley on January 8, 1953 in Kewanee, and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1986.
He then married Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Wilsey on March 28, 1987 in Kewanee, and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2009.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard and a sister, Donna Minton.
He is survived by three sons, Kevin (Beverly) DeReu, Michael (Edie) DeReu and Jim (Alicia) DeReu, all of Kewanee, two daughters, Colleen “Cookie” (Mark) White of Scottsville, KY, and Nancy (Jeff) Bates of Franklin, KY, fourteen grandchildren, Scott, Chris, Janelle, Harmony, Drew, Hannah, Ashley, Nicolas, Lucas, Matthew, Nichole, Michael, Cassandra and Blake, twelve great-grandchildren, Emily, Kasen, Carson, Alexis, Madison, Jaxon, Thomas, Bailey, Bradon, Braxton, Jacob and Whitney, one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia, a sister, Kathleeen (Jim) Cable of Galva, two special nephews that he helped raise, Larry and Brian Rosebeck and several nieces and nephews.
Tuffy had attended Kewanee Schools and then served his country in the U.S. Army, from 1950 to 1954.
He then worked at Martin Trailer which, later, became Hyster.
He had worked as a welder and then as a maintenance worker for 38 years until he retired.
He was a member of the Kewanee Veterans Council, the VFW, the American Legion and the 40 & 8.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, telling jokes and stories, but was especially proud of his family and grandchildren.
Mildred R. Propp

KEWANEE - Mildred R. Propp, 89, of Kewanee, died at 2:10 AM, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 5 at Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee.
Pastor Bob Curry will officiate.
Memorials may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born March 19, 1925 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Charles and Lenora Josephine (Hodge) Hamilton.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole (Dave) Dolieslager of Kewanee, a son, Robert (Pat) Morris of California, five grandchildren, Mark, Paul and Laurie Fischer, Amanda (Dale) Block and Brent Morris, ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Albert Samara.
Mildred had worked as a waitress, an apartment manager, as a Homemaker for Henry County, and at Samara’s Grocery Store.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she was a Past-President.
She enjoyed her home and thoroughly enjoyed her family.
Doris E. Hart
November 6, 1928 - September 5, 2014
WILLIAMSFIELD - Doris E. Hart, 85, of Williamsfield, died at 4:05 PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 12 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church.
Rev. Barry Reed, her great nephew, will officiate.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church, the Williamsfield Fire Department or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

She was born on November 6, 1928 in Knox County, IL, the daughter of Earl and Berniece Marie (Robinson) Tucker.
She married William S. Hart on November 7, 1946 in Knoxville, IL.
He preceded her in death on December 6, 1989.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters in infancy and two sisters, Mildred Reed and Wanda Mills.
She is survived by four sons, Terry (Martha) Hart of Liberty, MO, Danny (Janet) Hart of Brimfield, IL, and David “Speed” (Renee) Hart and Kelly (Debbie) Hart, both of Williamsfield, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Juanita (Al) Mattson of Hemet, CA.
Doris graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1946.
She had been a homemaker but in earlier years, had worked as a clerk and meat cutter at Young’s Grocery Store.
She was member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed helping others and showed this by delivering Senior Citizen meals and looking after and caring for many community members.
She will be remembered for her big heart and as “Grandma Doris” to many.
Edward G. "Ed" Sturtevant
October 30, 1933 - September 19, 2014
KEWANEE - Edward G. "Ed" Sturtevant, 80, of Kewanee, passed away at 1:05 PM, Friday, September 19, 2014 at his home.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee.
Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.
He was born October 30, 1933 in Carroll County, IL, the son of Richard Edward and Flora Bessie (Cook) Sturtevant.
He married Anna M. Grabbe on June 8, 1956 in Kewanee, and she preceded him in death on October 21, 2000.
Survivors include his children, Eddie Dean (Connie) Sturtevant and Richard (Sheela) Sturtevant, both of Kewanee, Bill (Crystal) Sturtevant of Galva, and Lou Ann Sturtevant of Kewanee, a brother, Ted (Marilyn) Sturtevant of Kewanee, two sisters, Sharon Gustafson and Diana (Tom) Entas, both of Kewanee, a brother-in-law, Dick Whaley of Sterling, IL, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley Whaley, two brothers, George and Richard “Dick” Sturtevant, a grandson, Travis and a great-granddaughter, Taylor.
Ed had been employed as a welder and steel worker for J & L Steel.
He was an avid Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing and working in his garage and on cars.
He thoroughly enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma J. Fornoff
(May 22, 1930 - September 6, 2012)
KEWANEE - Norma J. Fornoff, 82, of Kewanee, passed away at 11:40 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born May 22, 1930 in Kewanee, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Anderson) Gipe.
She married Karl H. Fornoff on April 10, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kewanee, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1979.
Survivors include her son, Thomas K. (Barbara) Fornoff of Manito, IL, her daughter, Sandra J. (Nicholas) Phillips of Bradford, five grandchildren, Debra L. Woiwode, Kenneth R. Fornoff and Susan K. (Joseph) Lay, all of Manito, IL, Kaitlin E. Phillips and her fiancé, Barry Cade of Sheffield, and Ashley P. Phillips of Bradford, and seven great-grandchildren, Megan and Madison Woiwode, Karley, Bailey and Avery Lay, Evelyn Fornoff and Jemma Cade.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Gipe, half-sister, Ann Perkins, half-brother, Hadyn Beyers and a grandson-in-law, James Woiwode.
Norma was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kewanee.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed music, going out to eat, watching TV, especially soap operas and spending time with her family.
