Jane Rosenow

GALVA - Jane Rosenow, 92, of Galva, died at 12:59 AM, Friday, October 10, 2014 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, October 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society or to the Galva Public Library.
She was born August 25, 1922 in Peoria, IL, and raised by her adopted parents, William and Elizabeth Clementz.
Later in life, she found her birth father, Oren “Herschel” Grider.
She married Clarence Rosenow in 1940 and they divorced in 1970.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Ripka of Kewanee, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marilee Cardiff, a son, Robert Rosenow and her special friend, John Schleicher of Wisconsin.
Jane graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1940.
She owned and operated Jane’s Antiques in Galva, and Wisconsin, for over 60 years.
She thoroughly enjoyed the antiquing business.
Walter L. Rodgers, Jr.

KEWANEE – Walter L. Rodgers, Jr., 54, of Kewanee, died at 12:23 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee.
Rev. Dr. William R. Toliver will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Friday, October 17 at the funeral home.
Cremation will be accorded following the services and private inurnment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council.
Memorials may be directed to Illinois Cancer Care.
He was born February 7, 1960 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Walter L. and Barbara (Tucker) Rodgers, Sr.
He married Karen S. Hollis on October 8, 1988 in Kewanee.
She survives, as does his mother, Barbara Bunyard of LaGrange, IL, five children, Walter L. Rodgers, III and Robert “Bobby” Rodgers, both of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jamie Rodgers of Florida, and Christopher and Tessa Rodgers, both of Kewanee, a sister, Carol (Terry) Green of LaGrange, IN, and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Walter served his country in the Illinois National Guard.
He had worked as an automotive mechanic at Waugh Automotive in Kewanee.
He was a member of the Neponset Congregational Church.
He enjoyed building cars and fishing.
Dolores Marie Justus
July 9, 1917 - August 16, 2014
GALVA - Dolores Marie Justus, 97, of Galesburg, formerly of Galva, died at 3:35 AM, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva.
Pastor Karen Martin will officiate.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Galva Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
She was born July 9, 1917 in Greene County, IN, the daughter of Earl and Pearl (Phillips) Bedwell.
She married James S. Justus on June 6, 1936 in Linton, IN, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1995.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Lisa) Justus of Galesburg, two grandchildren, Laura (Curtis) Suhl of Paxton, IL, and James R. “Jack” (Staci) Justus of Tallahassee, FL, and four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kamryn and Karly Suhl and Ike Logan Justus.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Dolores was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Galva, and Lake Calhoun, and their ladies golf league.
In her early years, she was a Den Mother and had enjoyed tennis and baseball.
Later in life, she enjoyed bowling and golfing.
She was an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.
Barbara Ann (Barry) Bush
March 1, 1926 - August 16, 2014
SHEFFIELD - Barbara Ann (Barry) Bush, died peacefully, at the age of 88, at 6:20 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Cincinnati, OH.
She was born in Sheffield, the daughter of John and Margaret (Kane) Barry and moved to the Quad Cities, following high school, where she met her husband.
She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel R. Bush, Jr. and sister of the late Jack Barry and Dorothy Maes.
The devoted mother of Samuel R. Bush, III, Donald Steven Bush and Elizabeth Wey and grandmother of Sarah Elizabeth Gurren and Kelly Marie Gurren.
She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Schmitt and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Barry.
Barbara spent many years in the Savings and Loan industry, before going to part-time employment to stay busy.
She loved her animals, especially her cats.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Save the Animals Foundation located on Red Bank Rd. in Cincinnati, OH, or to the Scratching Post in Silverton, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 23 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield.
Celebrant will be Fr. Mark Miller.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements.
