He was a retired product developer for Teletype/Lucent Technologies.
Mr. Petry was the loving father of Michael E. (Laura) Petry ofOmaha, Neb.
and Charles A. (Terri) Petry of Bartlett; son of Teresa Koetz and the late Edward Petry; stepson of the late Marcus T.

Mihailow `Mike' Bozidarevic of West Chicago
Funeral services for Mihailow `Mike' Bozidarevic, 64, will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, at Most Holy Mother of God Church, Third Lake, Ill.
Born April 12, 1935, in Yugoslavia, he died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be in Holy Mother of God Cemetery, Third Lake.
Mike came to the United States in 1960.
He received his bachelor of arts degree in television production from Columbia College, Chicago, in 1963. He was the manager of television facilities for Sears Corporation, retiring in 1990 with 27 years of service. He pioneered the concept of using television for corporate communications, and developed and taught media courses at the College of DuPage and Columbia College. He was awarded the Nikola Tesla International Medal in 1988 for his achievements in the field of industrial television.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Nick and Laura Bozidarevic; stepson, Tom Kennedy; granddaughter, Madison; two stepgranddaughters, Shelly and Haily; and two sisters, Nada (Rade) Bogosavljevic, Lila (Helmut) Kling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milivoje and Mirjana Bozidarevic.

Raymond L. `Waddy' Bruening of East Dundee
Services for Raymond L. `Waddy' Bruening, 68, will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee.

Born June 7, 1930, to Walter and Alice (Melahn) Bruening, he died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
A lifelong resident of the Dundee-Elgin area, Mr. Bruening had worked as facilities manager for Otto Engineering in Carpentersville. He was an active member for many years of Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee, serving as a worship aid and doing volunteer work for the lunch program of Immanuel Lutheran School. A veteran, Mr. Bruening was a staff sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He had been a diehard Cubs fan since 1935, was formerly the president of the Tri-Cities Little League for many years and was currently the secretary-treasurer of the Haeger Men's League.
Ray is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty L. Schuring Bruening, whom he married Aug. 13, 1955; sons, Michael (Diana) Bruening of Elgin, and twins, James (Lynn) Bruening of Dundee Township and John Bruening of Racine, Wis. ; daughters, Sara (Daniel) Kohlmeier of Wauwatosa, Wis. ,and Susan (Mark) Howlett of Algonquin; grandchildren, Jason, Elizabeth, Ashley, Jonathan, Lauren, Rebekah, Michael, Matthew and Stephen; brother, Thomas (Jeri) Bruening of Plato Center; and sister, Ruth Ann (Peter) Stade of Naples, Fla. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-inlaw, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

He retired from Johnson Outboard Marine on Feb. 27, 1987, after 44 years and seven months of service. A veteran of the Army Air Force, he served during World War II and was a member of North Chicago American Legion Sharvin Post #397. He was also a member of St. Joseph Lodge #53 K. S. K. J.
and the American Croation Waukegan Tamburitzans. Frank also played the button box accordian for the Waukegan Polka Beat.
He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine (nee Krpan); his loving daughter, Deborah Kozina of Milwaukee, Wis. ;and three sisters, Mildred Ward of Gages Lake, Olga Hankins of Wildwood and Frances Kozina of Waukegan.

John Panko, Jr. of Palatine

Mr. Panko entered eternal life Saturday morning May 1, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio, to John Sr. and Ann Betts Panko, John Jr. was a 1959 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he played baseball and was a member of the Catholic Choir. Upon graduation from West Point, John was commissioned a secondlieutenant to the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, N. C. A retired officer of the United States Army, John spent the past 37 years with DuPont, retiring this April. In his most recent position, John managed Global Sales and Marketing for DuPont Dow Elastomers. He served as parish council president for Immaculate Conception the past seven years.
John married the former Joann Marie Miladore on Oct. 1, 1960. Besides his loving wife of 39 years, John leaves his father, John Sr. of Youngstown, Ohio; three sons, John III of Palatine, Michael (Jill) of Palatine and Mark (Diana) ofDallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Ann Stevens of Canfield, Ohio, Mrs. Carole Elias of Austintown, Ohio, Mrs. PeggyMachingo of Boardman, Ohio, and Mrs. Jeanne Kaplan of Chicago; six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Sarah, Rachel,Isabella and John Peter; seven nieces; and four nephews.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, John loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved coaching baseball and served on the Palatine North Little League Board for many years.
A devotee of Jesus, Our Lady of Medjugorje and Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, John's character is exemplified in the following excerpt from his West Point bio: `He was a friend to all, and we who knew him well appreciated the qualities which made us proud to know him. As a friend and soldier, he will be remembered always. A 46-year Wheaton resident, he was a 1946 graduate of Proviso Township High School. He served in the Navy for four years just after World War II. He was a member of the Wheaton-Glen Ellyn Elks Club Lodge 2258 from 1969 until the time of his death.

A veteran of World War II, he was the former owner of Prairie Lee Paint and Wallpaper for 50 years. Mr. Reilly was also an active member of First Congregational Church and volunteered for the PADS progam.
He was the husband of Joan (nee Bond); father of John P. Reilly, Thomas M. (Cathy) Reilly and Ann (Howard) Tennes; brother of Dr. W. P. (Gretchen) Reilly, Margaret Hess and the late Walter E. Jr. (LaVonne) Reilly; and grandfather of Thomas, Charroy and Carly.

Funeral Mass of the resurrection for Richard J. Skowzgird will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, at St. Gilbert's Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Richard was a member of St. Gilbert's Church and was president of the Greater Chicago Parents of the Hearing Impaired Organization.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Barb (nee Kazimierczak); daughters, Krystine, Joanne and Michelle; parents, George and Alice Skowzgird; sister, Jan (Andy) Warack; brother, Ron (Pam) Skowzgird; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and also Tara.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 9 p. m. today, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 9 a. m. until the time of Mass, at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Richard John Skowzgird Memorial Fund which has been established through National City Bank in Buffalo Grove. This fund will be used to benefit Richard's favorite organizations and charities.

Benjamin F. Swan Jr. of Schaumburg
Benjamin F. Swan Jr., 83, a resident of Rancho Bernardo, Calif. for 20 years, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Lexington Health Care. He was born Oct. 24, 1915 in Rogers Park, Ill.
Mr. Swan had retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1979 after 41 years of service. He was a life member of Illinois Bell Telephone Pioneers, a member of AARP since 1980, and a member of the Rancho Bernardo Joslyn Seniors.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Swan (nee Miller); children, Kathleen J. (the late Edward) Gilio of Hanover Park, Susan L. (Mark) Deran of Schaumburg and Nancy Boldt of Schaumburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (the late Harold) Meyer of Glenview; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Vitas Hospice, 580 Waters Edge, Lombard, IL 60148; or Alexian Brothers Hospice House, 800 W. Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, would be appreciated.

Elizabeth Leone Wagner of Elgin
Private funeral services will be held for Elizabeth Leone Wagner, 91,of Elgin.
Born July 15, 1907, in Hampshire, to William and Elizabeth (nee Miller) Wagner, she passed away Friday, April 30, 1999, at Maplewood Care Center.
A resident of Elgin for most of her life, Miss Wagner had worked for D. C. Cook's Publishing for many years.
Surviving are her cousins, Cora Krause of Belvidere, Bea Gemskie of Bensenville, Donald (Eileen) Miller of Elgin, Irene (Don) Weidner of Elgin and Virgene (Willard) Smith of Cary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Wagner, on July 14, 1974.
There will be no visitation.

Ferdinand J. Weidner formerly of Arlington Heights

Born July 16, 1917, in Arlington Heights, he died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Harvard Hometown Care Center. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Buffalo Grove.
He was the husband of the late Marie (nee Emmerich); father of Albert (Susan) of Woodstock, Wayne (Sandra) of Missouri, Gregg, Christine (Christopher) Morris of Arizona and the late Dennis; and grandfather of Gary, Deena and Nathan Weidner.

Deane B. Westland of St. Charles
Memorial visitation for Deane B. Westland, 74, will be held from 4 to 7 p. m. Thursday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles.
Born Oct. 12, 1924, in Oak Park, he died Friday afternoon April 30, 1999, at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Hospital, Chicago.
Mr. Westland graduated from Oak Park High School in 1945 and from Franklin College in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He then went on to earn his master's degree in zoology from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He taught school in St. Charles for 36 years: from 1951 to 1987. In addition to classroom activities, he served as district science coordinator, junior high department chairman and academic team leader as well as coach of the football, basketball and swim teams. In 1978 he was bestowed the honor of Kane County Educator of the year. In 1996, the Indiana Delta Chapter awarded Mr. Deane the membership of the Golden Legion of Phi Delta Theta for having more than 50 years of membership.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Merle and two children, Deane II (Kristi) of St. Charles and Laurie (Timothy) Owings of Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Edward and Borghild Westland, and brother, Dr. Everett M. Westland.

Services for Vergene M. Schiller Wilson, 72, most recently of Sharon, Wis. ,will be held at noon Wednesday, at McHenry County Memorial Park Chapel, 11301 Lake Ave. ,Woodstock.
Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Woodstock, she died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at her home in Sharon. Burial will follow the services.
A homemaker, she was a member of Harvard Moose Lodge #1289.
She was the wife of James Wilson and thelate Lawrence Schiller; mother of Darwin (Sue) Schiller of Tomahawk, Wis., Allen Schiller of Wausau, Wis. and Lisa (Keith) Teuber of Sharon; sister of MAry (George) Kieger of Woodstock and Irene Kayser of Green Valley, Ariz. ;grandmother of eight; and great-grandmother of one.
