Alison Jeanette Balis, nee Tait, 85, died Friday, Jan. 24, in the Kansas City area.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 31, at Lombard Bible Church in Lombard. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Balis was the mother of James (Dora) and Carolyn (Robert) Walla, grandmother of six, great-grandmother of seven, sister of Sally Hampson of Lombard, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; brother, William Tait; and parents, Jeanette and William Tait.
Mrs. Balis was a resident of Villa Park for over 50 years before moving to the Kansas City area in 1992. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1935 and worked at Sears Roebuck and Co. She and her husband also were co-owners and operators of the Villa Park Dairy Queen for many years, and had worked for the High School District 88 in the Continuing Education Office, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Balis was active in many school and church activities and was a member of the Community Congregational Church. She remained active as a volunteer in the Kansas City area through Kiwanis, political activities and the church.
Charlotte Bulthuis
Charlotte Bulthuis, nee Lanenga, 87, of Rest Haven West Nursing Center in Downers Grove, died Sunday, Jan. 19, at Rest Haven West Nursing Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Gerry Erffmeyer officiating. Interment was private at Chapel Hill South Cemetery in Worth.
Mrs. Bulthuis was the mother of Thelma (John) Workman and Ruth (Robert) Tameling; grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 21; and sister of Wilma Doombos, John (Helen) Lanenga and Richard (Grace) Lanenga. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Marinius and Edward (Marge) Lanenga; sister-in-law, Sadie Lanenga; and brothers-in-law, Otto Doombos and John Huiner.
Mrs. Bulthuis was a homemaker.

Mrs. Fiocco was the mother of Alice Vinci, Allen (Annie) DuBeau, Ronald (Charisse) DuBeau and Christopher (Sherri) DuBeau; grandmother of five; sister of Peter Fantozzi; and relative and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.

Ronald L. Gallman Jr., 35, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Lombard, died Saturday, Jan. 25, at GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 29, at St. John Lutheran Church in LaGrange, with the Rev. James Haberkost officiating. Interment is at Acacia Park Cemetery.
Mr. Gallman was the son of Ronald L. Sr. and Ruth of Western Springs; grandson of Henry and Duean Gallman; brother of Stephanie Doyle; nephew of Lana Chapman, Cheryl (Peter) Pavich, Mary Bellocchio and John (Valerie) Stodden; and uncle of two. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karl and Ethel Stodden; and uncles, Kenneth Gallman and Dominick Bellocchio.
Mr. Gallman worked as the manager for Hooters restaurant in Downers Grove.

Douglas C. Larsen, 58, of Oswego, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, at home.

Mr. Larsen was the husband of Carin L.; father of Wendy (John) Malloy, Heidi (Jim) Favia, Becky (Jim) Norwood, Katelyn forest, Jean-Paul (Sharon) Carter and Michael Forest; grandfather of four; son of Doris I. Larsen; son-in-law of Adrienne Bowers and John Bowers; brother of Paul (Sandra); and relative of many. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Larsen.
Mr. Larsen was a resident of Oswego for one-and-a-half years, and was formerly of Wheaton for seven years and Glen Ellyn for 10 years. He retired in December 2002 after 36 years with Commonwealth Edison, where he had worked as manager of External Affairs. He had been active in Melrose Park; a volunteer as Commonwealth Edison's mascot, Louie the Lightning Bug at Children's Memorial Hospital; and was currently a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the Village of Oswego. He was also a member of the City Club in Chicago.

Ronald Mogavero, 62, of Lombard, died Friday, Jan. 24, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.

Mr. Mogavero was the husband of Linda, father of Anthony of Lombard and Michael "Spike" (Carlene), grandfather of two, brother of Andrea and Joseph (Katherine) of Villa Park, and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mogavero was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1958-62. He had been a resident of Lombard since 1971 and worked as a real estate investment manager for 28 years with Group One Investments in Chicago. He was a certified property manager and had attended the Institute of Real Estate Management, enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals, and was active in the Wild Turkey Cloggers of Lombard.

Curtis O. Plessinger, 65, of Largo Fla., formerly of Lombard, died Friday, Jan. 17, in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mr. Bissett was a veteran of the U.S. Army Military Police, having served during World War II. He was self-employed as a landscape architect.

Helen E. Cushing, nee Dawson, 86, died Tuesday, April 1.

Mrs. Cushing was the mother of Thomas J. (Marilyn); grandmother of two; great-grandmother of one; sister of Fredrick Dawson, Robert (Florence) Dawson and Annamae (William) Rooney; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J.; brothers, John W. and Thomas (Patricia) Dawson; and sisters-in-law, Anita Dawson and Irene Dawson.
Mrs. Cushing had been a resident of Lombard for 46 years. She had worked as a secretary at York High School in Elmhurst and also at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park prior to her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she volunteered with the CCD program.

Mr. Dagenhart had been a resident of Lombard for 23 years. He was a 1970 graduate of Elmhurst College with a degree in history, and a 1979 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a master's degree in foundations of education. He had worked as a teacher at Glenside Middle School, Glendale Heights District 16, where he taught sixth and eighth grades. He was on the Negotiation Team and a member of the Queen Bee Education Association.

Mrs. Diamond was a resident of Lombard for 75 years. She had worked for Fannie May in Yorktown for over 20 years, before retiring in 1997. She was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and had been active in the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post #5815.

Rev. Carl Frack
The Rev. Carl Frack, 84, died Tuesday, March 18, in Spokane, Wash.
Rev. Frack was the husband of Lucinda; father of Sharon Farrar, DeAnna McDonald, James of Lombard and John; grandfather of seven; and great-grandfather of two.
Rev. Frack was a veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Ann Arbor Business School and Moody Bible Institute, and attended the University of Michigan and Wheaton College.
Rev. Frack was the pastor of the Bible Church of Villa Park for 21 years, and served as pastor-at-large for churches in northwestern Ohio after moving to that area. He had lived in Spokane since just over three years ago.

Mrs. Griffith was a resident of Mountain Home since 1995, of Ft. Myers from 1972-95, and of Glen Ellyn from 1935-72. She was a homemaker, and was formerly a secretary for many years at the B.R. Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Oak Park, Glen Ellyn and Ft. Myers. She enjoyed family, friends, singing in the church choir, monologue acting, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and tennis.

Dr. Hrejsa was the father of Allen (Lenore) and Paul (Lorayne), grandfather of five, and great-grandfather of two. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose.
Dr. Hrejsa was a resident of Lombard for 12 years. He was a veteran who served as a physician during World War II in England and Germany. He was graduate of the University of Illinois Medical School in the 1940s, and had worked as a physician at Loretto Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital. He loved to paint character portraits.

Mrs. Kroeger was a resident of Villa Park for 40 years. She was born in Chicago and was a graduate of York High School. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry K.; and brother-in-law, Steve Unterfranz.
Mrs. Nelson had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the Downers Grove/Lisle area; a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital; and was active in the 2900 Maple Condominium Senior Social Club in Downers Grove, where she had served as a coordinator. She had been active at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, and enjoyed Bingo.

Mildred Teska
Mildred C. Teska, nee Cisar, 85, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 26, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 30, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Bob Schoenstene officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside.
Mrs. Teska was the wife of Clarence, mother of Clarence D. (Judy) and Ronald (Rosemary), grandmother of three, great-grandmother of two, and sister of George Cisar. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Josephine Cisar; and brother, Ed (Julie) Cisar.
Mrs. Teska was a homemaker.

Thomas Thachet, Ph.D.
Thomas Thachet, Ph. D., 68, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, July 30, at home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Dr. Thachet was the husband of Nina; father of Cyria T. (Suja), Lisum and Tomas (Sherry); stepfather of Cheryl (Roger) Baker; grandfather of five; and brother of seven brothers and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Bessie.
Dr. Thachet was retired after working as a chemist in the medical field.

Marilyn Waidanz
Marilyn A. Waidanz, nee Roraff, 71, of Lombard, died Monday, July 28, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 31, at Brust Funeral Home in Lombard. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Waidanz was the wife of Robert Sr.; mother of Robert Jr. (Cindy), James (Jane), Joseph (Christine) of Lombard, and Cindy (Kenneth) Krase of Lombard; grandmother of three; great-grandmother of one; and sister of Robert (Jan) Roraff and Shirley Klingelhofer. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Roraff; and sister, Lois Hauck.
Mrs. Waidanz was a resident of Lombard for 45 years. She had retired in 1982 after working 10 years with Bel-Tronics in Addison. She was an avid Bingo player.
