BENTON -- Beulah Daniels, 103, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 in Severin Intermediate Care Home. Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery, with Rev. Phillip Ingle officiating. He will be assisted by Mrs. Daniels' grandson, Dr. Robert S. Munday. Friends may call after noon Sunday to Morton and Johnston Funeral Home. Mrs. Daniels was born Aug. 14, 1898 in Franklin County to Joseph and Lula (Williams) Isaacs. They preceded her in death. She was married to Tilman I. McCollum in October of 1916 and they had four children. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1936. She then married Harry Daniels in 1943. He also preceded her in death. She was a widow for many years. Survivors include four children, Kathryn Munday of Benton, George McCollum of Benton, Ernest McCollum of Benton and Doris Seymour of Virginia Beach, Va. ; seven grandchildren, Dr. Robert S. Munday of Nashotah, Wis., Nancy Mougey of Mahomet, David McCollum of Benton, Richard McCollum of Benton, Becky McCollum of Benton, Mike McCollum of Benton, James E. Seymour Jr. of Lexington, Ky. ; nine great grandchildren; and several other relatives. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

MARION -- James B. Stockman, age 71, of Marion, passed away at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2002, in the Marion Memorial Hospital of Marion. The funeral service for James B. Stockman will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, in the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home of Marion, with Minister Scott Cody officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at the Berea Cemetery of Vienna. The time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home. MURPHYSBORO -- Orbie M. Graff Welch, 88, died at 8:15 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2002 in her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, with Father Gary Gummershei mer officiating. Burial will be in Murdale Gardens of Memory. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday and until 9:45 a.m. Monday at Pettett Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited Sunday at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Welch was a retired registered nurse at Weiss Clinic in Chicago. She was member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro and a member of the Murphysboro Senior Citizens. She was born Jan. 21, 1914 in Jackson County to Louis and Anna (Davis) GrafF. They preceded her in death. She was married to Henry Welch May 12, 1945 in Chicago. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1982. Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Betty L. Graff of Carbondale and Raymond and Louise Graff of Murphysboro; 17 nieces and nephews, Roberta Condolleri, Janice Fiorino, Richard Graff, Ruby Hines, Kathy Leasor, Larry Graff, Theresa Mills, Diane Graff, David Graff, Tina Hunziker, Lyndal Graff, Joyce Thomas, Orbie Glaub, Vickie Hollman, Charles Graff, Keith Graff and Judy Jo Phillips; and many great nieces and nephews. Two brothers, one sister and one niece preceded her in death.

CARMI -- Dorothy Y. Land, 79, of Marion, formerly of Carmi, died at 1:37 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Campbell Funeral Home, with Rev. Nicholas Showalter officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Carmi. Mrs. Land was a secretary at Lincoln School in Carmi for 22 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carmi. She was born July 13, 1922 in Mill Shoals Township to Fred and Bessie (York) York. She was married to Carl Kello Land Sept. 5, 1945. He preceded her in death April 20, 1995. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Marsha Land of Marion and Jerry and Jana Land of Atlanta, Ga. ; one sister, Evelyn Beck of Carmi; one brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Sandra York of Louisville, Ky. ; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Christopher, Ian and Megan Land; and two sisters-in-law, Frances York and Jean York, both of Carmi.

BLUFORD -- James Richard Foshee, 75, died at 9 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 in St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson County, with Chaplain of American Legion Post #141 in Mount Vernon officiating. A military flag presentation will be held. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday in Hughey Funeral Home.
Clarence Newcomb
ASHLEY -- Clarence H. Newcomb, 83, died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002 in Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville. Per the request of Mr. Newcomb, no public services will be held. Burial will be in Ashley Cemetery. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clarence 'Chuck' L. Bloodworth
HERRIN -- Clarence "Chuck" L. Bloodworth, 52, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Herrin, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002. Chuck was born in Herrin. He was a decorated Vietnam Army Veteran and a life member of the VFW of Cape Coral and Du Quoin. He was employed for many years as a telephone technician with Sprint. He is survived by his loving family of a son, Timothy (April) Bloodworth of Freeman Spur, Ill. ; daughters, Barbara (Ken) Brown of Plantation, Fla. and Debi (Jim) Pedro of West Richland, Wash. ; his loving companion and best friend, Lorraine Fields; his mother, Mary Stacy of Herrin; two sisters, Betty Bloodworth of Herrin and Debbi (Robin) Johnson of Carterville; seven grandchildren, Dylan and Hannah Bloodworth, Alicia and Brett Williams, Trevor, Cody and Lyndsay Pedro. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, June 1, 2002, at the Cape Coral Memorial Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to the services. Military rites will be conducted at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

TAMMS -- Gerald Harvell, 81, died at 7:52 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born September 25, 1920, in Thebes, the son of John and Daisy (Wilson) HarvelL. He married Geneva Wilson on January 10, 1942. He was a member of the First Baptist Church East in Carondelet. He was an Operating Engineer and worked for Columbia Quarry #9. He was a life member of the Sugarloaf Memorial Post #6368, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dupo. He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Geb) of Tamms; one son, Jay (Gail) Harvell of Dupo, one daughter, Diann Kuni of Dupo; one grandson, Guy Robert Kuni of Dupo; three granddaughters, Angela Kuni, Kassey Harvell and Karrey Harvell, all of Dupo; one sister, Clara Reno of Sheridan; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for Gerald Harvell will be at 1 p.m. today, at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with Revs. Clint Nale and Brian Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the McCrite Cemetery with Military Honors by the Pulaski County Post #8891, VFW. Visitation was held Friday at the funeral home.

MARION -- Kathryn "Katy" Stoltz, 54, formerly of Anna, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at her home. She was born on August 3, 1947, in Carbondale the daughter of Thomas R. and Joanne (Goforth) Thompson. She married Bobby R. Stoltz on May 19, 1967. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dongola. She had worked as a secretary as the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455, VFW. She is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Stoltz of Marion; one daughter, Renee Stoltz of Marion; her mother, Joanne Thompson of Dixon; one sister, Ann James of Dixon; three brothers, Eric Thompson of Rockford, Thomas E. Thompson of Tucson, Ariz. and Joe Paul Thompson of Rochelle; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas R. Thompson and a stepson, Robert Stoltz in 1984. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3 at the Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with Pastor E. James Rivett officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
Robert S. 'Bob' Satterfield
DU QUOIN -- Robert S. "Bob" Satterfield, 81, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002, at his home in Fairfield, CaliF. Mr. Satterfield was born April 10, 1921, to Raymond "Pop" and Nellie (Stanley) Satterfield. He served in the U. S. Submarine Service during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen of Fairfield; stepson, Joseph Bugai of Fairfield; stepdaughter and her husband, Susan and Brian Cook of Millford; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Louise and Olin Galloway, Ruby Brock and Juanita and Kenneth Porter, all of Du Quoin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Doris Satterfield of Madera, Calif., and Eugene and Velma Satterfield of Merced, Calif. ; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were May 23 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home chapel with the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 861 ritual team presiding.
