Leonard Sanders Sr.
ELKVILLE -- Leonard Sanders Sr., 74, died at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Herrin HospitaL. Private family services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. Leon Kelly and Leonard Sanders Jr. officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. Mr. Sanders' family, will recieve callers at the Elkville Community Center at noon, Thursday, Dec. 26. Friends are invited to join the family for lunch. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Sanders owned Elkville Senior Billiards and was a retired coal miner. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hallidayboro. He was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Du Quoin to Bennie and Myrtle (Rond) Sanders. He married Ina Marie Gude on April 4, 1944, in Du Quoin. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, the Rev. Leonard E. Sanders Jr. of Old Du Quoin and Gerald L. Sanders Sr. of Elkville; two daughters, Lindell Kelly of Du Quoin and Rosaline Carter of Urbana; one brother, Bennie, of Columbia, Mo. ; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His parents and one sister, Carrie Scott, preceded him in death.
Beverly Joyce Taylor Morrison Reed
HERRIN -- Beverly Joyce Taylor Morrison Reed, 70, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Herrin HospitaL. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Van Natta Funeral Home, with the Rev. Naomi Carter officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed worked at Maytag for 30 years. She was a BaptiSt. She was born June 29, 1932, in Bend, Ore., to Lloyd and Erly Leona (Wheeler) Brice. She married Jeffrey L. Reed. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Thomas Shelton of Herrin; one stepson, Matthew Reed of Marion; one stepdaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Chris White; two grandchildren and a spouse, Brandon Shelton and Kim and Robert Inboden Jr. ; four great-grandchildren, David, Megan, Sarah and Tyler Taylorof Herrin; and three stepgrandchildren, Aaron, Kiely and Tyler White of Gunnison, Colo. Her parents and one brother, Stanley Brice, preceded her in death.
Albert J. 'Punk' Jung
RED BUD -- Albert J. "Punk" Jung, 100, of Red Bud, formerly of Evansville, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Red Bud Regional HospitaL. He was born Aug. 6, 1902, in Evansville, to the late Bernard and Sophia (Schweir) JunG. He was never married. He was a railroad section worker for Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired after 40 years. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ben Jung; and two sisters, Esther House and Anna KrulL. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Evansville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Martin Springer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Evansville. Memorials may be made to the Activity Fund on the second floor at Red Bud Regional Hospital.

MARION -- Charles Lee McKinney, 83, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in the Veteran's Administration Center in Marion. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion.
Scott E. Chenoweth
JOHNSTON CITY -- Scott E. Chenoweth, 36, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, in Marion. Scott was born Aug. 2, 1966, in Marion, the son of Frank and Charmaine (Smothers) Chenoweth. Scott was employed by Crownline Boats of West Frankfort and was of the Baptist faith. Scott is survived by his parents, Frank and Charmaine Chenoweth of Johnston City; his step-grandmother, Lou Ann Smothers of Marion; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sybil Smothers; his maternal grandfather, J. C. Smothers; and his paternal grandparents, Ray and Leda Chenoweth. The memorial service for Scott E. Chenoweth will be at noon today, Thursday, Dec. 26, at the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Don Colson officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m.-noon today, Thursday.

MARION -- Mary Ollis, 80, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Marion, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in River Walk Village Nursing Care Center of Noblesville, Ind. The funeral service for Mary Ollis will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court Street, Marion, with Rev. Edward L. Alsip officiating. Interment will follow in McKinney Chapel Cemetery northeast of Goreville. The time of visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Villa Ridge Union Church, with the Rev. Ralph Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
