Beryl Fisher
CARBONDNALE -- Beryl M. Fisher, 92, of Carbondale, formerly of Murphysboro, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, in Oak Grove Rehab and Care Center. Mrs. Fisher was born June 19, 1910, in Gorham, the daughter of Walter and Marietta (Davis) Lon. She married George Fisher on July 31, 1931. He preceded her in death in Dec. 1974. She was one of the original staff nurses of Doctors Hospital, which was later renamed Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Murphysboro. Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Davis of Carbondale; a son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Pat Fisher of Jacksonville, Fla. ; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaina Gale of Murphysboro; and a brother-in-law, Carl Fisher of California. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Murdale Gardens of Memory, with the Rev. John Annable officiating. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home Pleasant Grove Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested for Carbondale Senior Citizens Center, 409 N. Springer, Carbondale, IL 62901.
Anna Mary Gagliano
HERRIN -- Anna Mary Gagliano, 84, of Herrin, formerly of Johnston City, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday April 9, 2003, in Friendship Care Center in Herrin. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with Sister Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Anna was born on September 12, 1918, in Long Island, N. Y., the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Rydll) Golis. She married Rosario Gagliano on February 4, 1967, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1975. Anna was a homemaker and a member of the Herrin Senior Citizens. She was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Johnston City. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Henry "Hank" and JoAnn Golis of West Frankfort; two grandchildren, Kelly Golis and Kimmie McVicar; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Ashley, and Tucker McVicar; a brother, Louis Golis of Detroit; and a sister, Judy Golis of Detroit. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lillie Mae Pride
CHRISTOPHER -- Lillie Mae (Issler) Pride, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Sonshine Manor in Republic, Mo. She was born on November 8, 1928 to Charlie and Bertha Issler in Christopher, Illinois. She married Ray Pride. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles E. and Freda Issler of Mulkeytown and Ricky and Carrie Issler of Bethany, Okla. ; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Gene Schmidt of Shell Knob, Mo. ; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, one brother, Darrell Issler, and one sister, Geraldine Issler Craig, preceeded her in death. She was a member of the Apostolic Outreach Church in Benton, Illinois. There will be no visitation. A private ceremony will be held at the Mulkeytown Cemetary after cremation and receipt of remains. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church.

WEST FRANKFORT -- Rose Marie Parker, 71, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Denning Cemetery with Sister Ruth Hayes officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Union Funeral Home.

METROPOLIS -- John C. Kirksey, 58, died at 1:27 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, with the Revs. David Siere and Bud Corzine officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with the Rev. Joseph Crowe officiating. Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tamaroa Cemetery, the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Perry County.

Danny Strodick
HERRIN -- Danny Joe Strodick, 48, of Herrin, formerly of Grosse Ile, Mich., died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at home. Danny was born on December 5, 1954 in Detroit, Mich., to Louis Deon and Virginia (Rivett) Strodick. He married Sheila Parker on November 21, 1973, in Lincoln Park, Mich. She survives. Mr. Strodick and his wife owned and operated Sheila's Laundromat in Herrin. In his spare time Danny enjoyed working around the house andyard, but most of all he loved to travel with his wife and spend time with his family. Other survivors include a godson, Alexander Puhl of South Gate, Mich. ; two uncles and an aunt, William Parker of Herrin and Ward and Irene Wickham of Herrin; an aunt and her husband, Peggy and Leo Mattingly of Herrin; two nieces and a husband, Christine Parker of Mount Pleasant, Mich., and Tina and Aaron Gripe of Brownstown, Mich. ; two cousins, Violet Barnett of Carterville and John Strodick of Herrin; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; and beloved dogs, Sandy and Buddy. His parents preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis.
