JOHNSTON CITY -- Audra Brown, 83, died at 6 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murman-Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Faye Juanita Snider
ENERGY-- Faye Juanita Snider, 92, of Energy, went to be with the Lord she loved and feared at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Faye was born Nov. 11, 1910, in Energy, to Floyd and Minnie (Dunihoo) Walker of Fordsville. She was united in marriage to Paul Snider, who preceded her in death. She is remembered by all who knew and loved her for her sweet disposition and her kind and loving ways, always ready to help and give of herselF. She gave up many personal things in life to help her family and her church. Her devotion to God, church and friends was most important to her. Faye was a talented musician, playing the piano for a gospel quartet for many years. She also played the accordion and the organ for the church when she was needed. She loved entertaining the residents of the nursing home. She was an avid organic gardener, making compost each year for her garden. She gathered mulch with her daughter-in-law who helped her garden for 42 years. She was retired from Norge Industries after working 31 years. She last worked as a machine shop operator and for a short time as secretary. She was a member of West Monroe Street Apostolic Church in Herrin. She was a member of the Hurricane Cemetery Association. She was also a member of the Herrin Senior Citizens. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Karen Snyder of Herrin and Frank and Mary Frances Snider of Energy; three grandchildren, Deborah Blouse and husband Jim of Marion, Roger Snyder of Herrin and Susan Kay Parks and husband Bill of Henderson, Nev. ; five great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Michael Snyder; brother, Ferrell Walker and three sisters, Aliened Smith, Bessie Maguth and Maxine Broyles. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The Rev. Terry Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow at Hurricane Cemetery, where Faye helped yearly with fundraisers for upkeep of the cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Louisa A. Dyel
MOUNT VERNON -- Louisa A. Dyel, 83, died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, in Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hughey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Julie Allsion officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Carl Dyel of Mount Vernon; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Larry Pitchford of Marion and Kay and Bill Leathers of Centralia.

Wreatha Burgess Dukehart
VIENNA -- Wreatha Burgess Dukehart, 95, of Vienna, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, in Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna. She was born Sept. 1, 1907, in the Renshaw Community in Pope County. She was the daughter of Thomas J. Burgess and Chloe (Simmons) Burgess. Wreatha was united in marriage to Willis Hagler in 1925. He preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to William R. Dukehart in 1957. He preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Betty Louise Hagler Stockdale and husband Virgil E. Stockdale of Vienna; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Verna Burgess of Ramon, CaliF. and Maurice Burgess of Granite City. Wreatha was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Felix Burgess and grandson, Virgil Lee Stockdale. Wreatha was a graduate of Pope County elementary and high schools. She was also a graduate of Southern Illinois Normal University. Wreatha taught elementary education in the Pope County school system for three years. She was employed for 27 years as a dietitian at the Illinois Central Hospital in Paducah, Ky. Wreatha was a member of the Arlington Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Md. She locally attended the Vienna First Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and tatting. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in IOOF Cemetery in Golconda. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. There will be no public visitation. Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vienna High School Memorial Scholarship Fund, 601 N. First St., Vienna, IL 62995.

James R. Wiley
EDDYVILLE -- James R. Wiley, 88, of Cape Coral, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in Cape Coral. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rushing Cemetery, east of Ozark. There will be no visitation. Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wiley was born April 19, 1915, in Springfield, Mo., to James and Eulalia (Wilson) Wiley. He married Vesta Fay Chester on Nov. 14, 1942. She died in 1997. Survivors include three sons, David C. Wiley of Cape Coral, Robert B. Wiley of Atlanta and William L. Wiley of Westerville, Ohio; two daughters, Nancy Riggs of Leawood, Kan., and Diana L. Wilson of Paso Robles, Calif. ; one brother, Wilber F. Wiley of Westerville;12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One son, James Ray Wiley, and one brother, Truman Earl Wiley, also preceded him in death.

Richard Wesley Wright
PINCKNEYVILLE -- Richard Wesley Wright, 81, of Pinckneyville died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in East St. Louis, the son of Daniel Leroy and Olena (Clark) Wright. He was united in marriage to Phyllis J. Konz on Feb. 8, 1945, in Providence, R. I. She survives. Richard served in the U. S. Navy as an aerial photographer during World War II, from 1942 through November 1945, and again during the Korean conflict, from 1951 to 1952. He retired from Swift and Co. in 1982 after 42 years of service, where he worked as a meat packer. Richard and Phyllis permanently moved to Pinckneyville in 1984. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 930. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis J. Wright of Pinckneyville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Sullivan of Kenosha, Wis. ; and a nephew and wife, Charles and Kay Konz of Kenosha, Wis. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with the Rev. Stephen Duncan officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Fairview Heights. Memorials may be made to Gerri Luke Memorial Hospice of Pinckneyville.

Lynda Dycus
BROOKPORT -- Lynda J. Dycus, 57, died at 1:27 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, in Metropolis Health Care Center. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Illinois, Southern Illinois Region, 412 Elles Ave., Carterville, IL 62918.

JOHNSTON CITY -- Joseph E. "Joe" Roach, 80, died at 9:17 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at home. Arrangements are incomplete at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home.

Faith Wisely
COULTERVILLE -- Faith A. Wisely, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in Sparta Community Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Coulterville, with the Rev. Ron Manzander officiating. Burial will be in Coulterville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Coulterville high school library.

Eleanor Thompson
OAKDALE -- Eleanor Thompson, 84, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in Sparta Community Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Oakdale, with the Rev. Ron Mazander officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Elkton Union Church or to the donor's choice.

Newburger Martin
CARBONDALE -- Newburger Martin, 91, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro. Arrangements are incomplete at Algee's Funeral Home in Carbondale.
