Dolores M. Kulich
BENTON -- Dolores Mae Kulich, 71, of 1000 N. Grand Ave., died at 9 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Benton Healthcare Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton, with Pastor Roger Ellsworth officiating. Burial will be in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mrs. Kulich was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Mary Tichy Mottle. She married Frank Kulich on July 13, 1968, and he survives. She was a retired bookkeeper, a member of the Benton Elks and of the Lutheran faith. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Wayne Kulich and Frank Kulich, both ofBenton, Glenn Kulich of Bradley, and Daryl Kulich of Kankakee; six grandchildren, Wayne Kulich of Tampa, Fla., Ronald Kulich of Merritt Island, Fla., Frank Kulich of Benton, Brian Kulich of Sesser, Jennifer Kulich and Christine Kulich, both of Bradley; three great-grandchildren, Justin Kulich of Sesser, Frank Kulich and Jordan Kulich, both of Benton. Mrs. Kulich was preceded in death by her parents.
James 'Scott' House
BENTON -- James "Scott" House, 42, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated. Mr. House was born March 4, 1961, in Benton to James Leroy House and Mary Ann (Sneed) Payne. He was a journeyman iron worker and was a member of Iron Workers Local 184 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a member of East Benton Baptist Church. Survivors include his father and friend, James Leroy House and Candace Hamilton of Benton; his mother and her husband, Mary Ann and Carl Payne of Buckner; his grandmother, Velma House of Benton; two sons, James Dakota House of Chesterton, Ind., and James Zachary Scott House of Peru, Ind. ; one daughter, Natalie Ann House of Chesterton, Ind. ; one brother and sister-in-law, James "Ode" and Kelley Day of California; and one sister and brother-in-law, Sally Ann and Jim Bando of Gilbertsville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James P. House and James and Jackie Sneed.

SPARTA -- Ruth A. Kueker, 83, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Red Bud Regional Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church in Sparta, with Pastor David Moody officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 a.m. Monday at the church. McDaniel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Albert A. Schirmer
CHESTER -- Albert A. Schirmer, 81, of Fairview Heights, born Feb. 4, 1922 in Chester, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Mr. Schirmer was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Fairview Heights. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He was a retired carpenter and a 55 year member of the Carpenters and Joiners Local 433. He was a past member of the Musicians Local 350 in Collinsville and Local 29 in Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Caroline Sprengel Schirmer, a brother, Charles at birth, a sister, Marion House Douglas and his first wife, Mary Lucille Schirmer. Mr. Schirmer is survived by his wife, Laverne M. Holtgrewe Schirmer of Fairview Heights; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Patricia Schirmer of Fairview Heights; a stepdaughter and her husband, Diana and Thomas Stoerzbach of Spring, Texas; five granddaughters, Kathryn, Abigail and Jacqueline Schirmer and Dayla and Amanda Stoerzbach; five brothers and sisters-in-law, John F. Schirmer of San Antonio, Texas, the Rev. Bertram and Betty Schirmer of Chester, Paul and Carrel Schirmer of Du Quoin, Joseph and Ruby Schirmer of Steeleville, William and Mary Ann Schirmer of Harrisburg, Pa. ; a sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Warren Hall of Ballwin, Mo. ; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Albert was a dear friend to all. For eternity he will perform on his bass fiddle with the world renown Angels of Jesus Orchestra and continue to build on the great Chapel in the sky. Dad always said, "Be good to your neighbors and you'll have better neighbors. " We love you Pop, we miss you. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2003, in Bethany Lutheran Church in Fairview Heights, with the Revs. Randy Emmons and Doug Nicely officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2003, in Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Audrey M. Kirkpatrick
TAMAROA -- Audrey M. Kirkpatrick, 87, of Tamaroa, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Veteran's Affair Hospital in Marion. Audrey worked as a coal miner at Peabody Coal Company and was owner and operator of Tamaroa Lumber Company from 1968 until 1976. He was also a farmer. He was a member of Tamaroa Christian Church, a Republican Precinct Committeeman and Tamaroa American Legion. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Sesser, the son of William C. and Minerva J. Martin Kirkpatrick. He married Jessie M. Sprenger on Sept. 17, 1939, in Perryville, Mo., and she survives. Survivors include his wife of Tamaroa; children, Florence Kirkpatrick, Arven and Sally Kirkpatrick, all of Tamaroa, Sally and Frank Knight of Assumption, and Jane and Tom Taylor of Wauchula, Fla. ; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Carl, four brothers and four sisters. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003, in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, with Brother Arven Kirkpatrick officiating. Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin. Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa is in charge of arrangements. Maxine Bullock
DU QUOIN -- Maxine Bullock, 92, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin. Maxine was a retired florist and had worked in the floral business from 1972 until 2002. She was also a retired teacher at Sesser-Valier School. She was a member of Green wood United Methodist Church and was a seventy-seven year member of the church. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Retired Teacher's Association, Perry Co. Retired Teacher's Association. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Southern Illinois University. She was born July 16, 1911, at Sesser, the daughter of John Moore and Epsa Swisher Moore Eubanks. She married Spruel E. Bullock on August 7, 1935 at Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2002. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Joy and William McClellan of Mount Vernon, Bobbie and J. T. Ingram of Du Quoin, Bill and Donna Bullock of Johnston City, and Larry and Sherry Bullock of Du Quoin; ten grandchildren, Teresa Dal Santo, Jennifer Benedict, Bryan Ingram, Laura Spain, Sandy Bullock, Christina Busch, Tenille Bullock, Linaya Alvarez, Trevor Bullock, Courtney Overturf; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Wayne Moore; and one grandson, Mike. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Green wood United Methodist Church at Mulkeytown, with the Rev. David Morgan and Brother Percy Pavloff officiating. Interment will be in the Green wood Cemetery at Mulkeytown. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Villa Bernice Armour
JONESBORO -- Villa Bernice Armour, 91, of Alton, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in St. Anthoney Medical Center in Alton. She was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Alto Pass, the daughter of James C. and Rose Etta Stone Smith. She married Fred L. Armour in 1928 in Cobden. She was a homemaker living most of her life in Southern Illinois. She loved and was very proficient at quilting. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Faye Armour of Joliet and Everett and Loris Armour of Fond Du Lac, Wis. ; four daughters and son-in-law, Francis and Wayne Hileman of Alton, Beverly Joyce George of Godfrey, Peggy Orzel of Alton, and Judy Lamb of Poplar Bluff, Mo. ; a daughter-in-law, Joyce George of Renick, W. Va. ; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Wilson of Dongola and Audrey Smith of Anna. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Frieda and Earl Hartline, and a son, Kenneth Armour. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Land officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be until 11 a.m. today in the funeral home. Hileman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MCLEANSBORO -- Jackson Marshall Brown, infant son of Steven and Elizabeth Kelley Brown of McLeansoboro, was stillborn at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Services will be at noon today in Digby Hill Cemetery near Dale, with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Buial will be in the cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today in Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Survivors include his parents; grandparents, James and Pamela Brown and Sue Brown, all of McLeansboro, Steve Kelley of Benton and Sue Malchert of Carmi; a great-grandmother, Virginia Kelley of Benton; and great-great-grandmother, Wanna Grace Tucker of Dale.
