METROPOLIS -- Chassidy Leigh Dennis, 12, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, in St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., from an extended illness. She was born Jan. 29, 1991, in Carbondale, to Tonya Maxwell and Sylvester Dennis. Chassidy attended Meridian School grades kindergarten through third grade and then moved to Metropolis where she completed the sixth grade at Metropolis Middle School where she had many friends. Chassidy was baptized in St. John Praise and Worship Center in June 1999, where she was a member. Survivors include her parents, Tonya Maxwell of Metropolis and Sylvester Dennis of Pulaski; one sister, Skylar Dennis of Metropolis; grandparents, Karen and Earnest Glenn of Benton, Marvin Maxwell of Vienna, and Willie Lee Dennis of Pulaski; great-grandparents, Ruth McClellan of Mounds, Della Johnson of Villa Ridge, Jerry Parrott of Mounds, and Carl McClellan of Cape Girardeau, Mo. ; a special aunt, Henrietta Dennis of Cape Girardeau; aunts, Heather Carney of Benton, Jewell Johnson of Chicago, Flora and Robert Ballard of Pulaski, and Martha Dennis of LaPorte, Ind. ; uncles, Harold Dennis of Atlanta, Ga., Scott McClellan of Cape Girardeau, Ivan and Blair Maxwell of Vienna, and James Dennis of Pulaski; special cousins, Jamie McClellan of Ft.
