Rubylee (Beck) Graskewicz
PINCKNEYVILLE -- Rubylee (Beck) Graskewicz, 85, a devoted resident of Pinckneyville, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Waterloo. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo is in charge of arrange- ments. Mrs. Graskewicz was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Pinckneyville, to the late Edward F. and Bertha M. (Mayer) Beck. She was retired. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pinckneyville, an avid high school sports fan and antique collector, and a member of Delta Theta Tau sorority and Perry County Homemakers. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jon Beck and Jan Graskewicz of New Port Richey, Fla. ; one stepson and his wife, Kenneth and Rubymae Graskewicz of Pinckneyville; one stepdaughter and her husband, Eva Lee and Roy Petrey of Thomasville, Ga. ; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, LaJoy and Earl Downs of Waterloo; and her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Bernard F. Reynolds and Marion H. Graskewicz; and two sisters, Marie Crain and Virginia Lyons. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or to the donor's choice.

THOMPSONVILLE -- Jeanne L. Kraft, 81, died at 8:42 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. John F. Seibert officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy H. Rausenberger
QUINCY -- Dorothy H. Rausenberger, 98, of the Good Samaritan Home died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in Good Samaritan Home. Mrs. Rausenberger was born March 8, 1906, in Brooklyn, N. Y., Dorothy was the daughter of Charles and Laura Skidmore Hacker. She married Herman G. Rausenberger on July 16, 1925, in New York, and he died on June 25, 1989. Dorothy was a member of the Women's City Club and PEO. She devoted her life to raising her family and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Alan H. and Patricia Rausenberger of Carterville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Annie Rausenberger of Herrin, Amy and Brian Frerichs of Marion, and Beth and Dan Mueller of Chicago; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Katie Frerichs, both of Marion. Mrs. Rausenberger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant sister, Adelle Hacker. Services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Quincy Memorial Park, with Chaplain Steve Disseler officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, located at 1435 State St. in Quincy. Memorials may be made to the Eber Wing of Good Samaritan Home.
William M. 'Bill' Sullens
COBDEN -- William M. 'Bill' Sullens, 70, of Cobden, died at 12:12 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Dongola, the son of William M. and Beatrice Sowers Sullens. He married Allie Jane McCann on Oct. 15,1955, in Cobden. He retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company in Anna after 28 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Allie Jane of Cobden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Jim Knupp of Jonesboro and Lori and Randy Gooden of Charleston; one son, Kevin Sullens of Cobden; one daughter-in-law, Mary Pair; 13 grandchildren, Ryan and Shayn Knupp, Jessica, Christopher, Brandon, Orian, Tyler, Kevin and Ashley Sullens, Megan Kilburn, and Robert, Matt and Morgan Gooden; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Naomi Redcloud and Sue and Wiley Rader of Dongola; and his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sidney Dixon. Services for Mr. William M. 'Bill' Sullens will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, in Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. Clifford Heil officiating. Interment will be in Cobden Cemetery. Alice D. Baker
WEST FRANKFORT -- Alice D. Baker, 99, of West Frankfort, formerly of Johnston City, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Helia Health Care in Benton. She was born April 6, 1905, in Crofton, Ky., to John Martin and Mary (Loveless) Martin. She was married to William M. Baker, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Harold G. and Arlene Baker of Johnston City, and four daughters and two sons-in-law, Virginia Odle, Phyllis Grant, and Delores and Rusty Johnson, all of West Frankfort, and Wanda and Ray Rosell of Mishawaka, Ind. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Mary Fay Baker; two grandsons, Randall McCann and Michael Baker; one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Arview; four sisters; and seven brothers. Mrs. Baker was a member of Third Baptist Church in West Frankfort. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with the Rev. Joe Zbinden officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parker-Reedy Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Third Baptist Church.

Lawrence Gallick
MURPHYSBORO -- Lawrence Gallick, 82, of Murphysboro, passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Indianapolis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro, with Pastor Tom Hobson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with military services conducted by American Legion Post 127, VFW Posts 7190 and 2605, and Jackson County DAV Chapter 69. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Pettett Funeral Home and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Murphysboro or to St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis. He was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Virden, to John A. and Mary J. (Katcher) Gallick. On Feb. 17, 1952, he married Betty Ruth Bullar of Murphysboro. She survives him. Lawrence attended grade and high school in West Frankfort. He was a graduate of Lockyear's Business College, Evansville, Ind. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. During World War II, Mr. Gallick was a sergeant in the 373rd Army Air Force and served throughout Europe. He received both Silver and Bronze Stars. After graduating from SIUC, Lawrence was employed at the Atomic Plant in Paducah. For a period, Larry also was an assistant superintendent at Onarga Military School, in Onarga, where he also served as a major in the Illinois National Guard. He also taught at John A. Logan College, Carterville. However, he spent most of his career as an abstractor, initially at Murphysboro Title and Abstract and subsequently at the Jackson Country Abstract and Title Guarantee Company in Murphysboro. Mr. Gallick was scout master for both Cub Scout Pack 112 and Boy Scout Troop 112 in Murphysboro. He was a member of American Legion Post 127 and Jackson County Farm Bureau. Mr. Gallick was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Murphysboro, where he served terms as both a deacon and as an elder of the church. Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Robert Lawrence Gallick of Phoenix; and one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Gail and Gary Wilson Whitaker of Indianapolis. He is survived by his sister, Mildred A. DeMattei of West Frankfort, and his sister and brother-in-law, Louise M. and John M. Skube of Springfield. He is survived by step-grandsons, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Gallick was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home Pleasant Grove Chapel, Old Illinois 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro, with the Rev. Bill Webb officiating.
