Vasco J. Lencioni
Vasco J. Lencioni, age 86 of St. Charles, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, Illinois. He was born April 16, 1914 in Geneva, IL.
Before his retirement, he and his wife, Germaine, owned and operated the Blue Goose Supermarket in St. Charles for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Charles. Vasco served as the St. Charles Township Supervisor in the early 60's. He also served on the Kane County liquor commission for several years. Vasco loved to travel to Canada fishing and in his later years enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by four children, Donna (Dennis) Niemczyk, David Lencioni, Mary (John) Pearson and John Lencioni all of St. Charles; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer and Sara Niemczyk, Katherine and Paul Lencioni, Cassandra (David) Hastings, Jon and Joshua Pearson, and Michelle Knudsen, 5 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Calvin and Gus Hastings and Brianna Seifrid and Leif Bjorklund.
preceded in death by his wife Germaine in 1997, his parents, Frederick and Nancy and two brothers, Louis and Angelo and one sister, Edith Blase.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at St. Patrick's Church in St. Charles. Burial will be in Union cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Sunday at the Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles. Liturgical wake services will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Gregory Dale McLeod
Gregory Dale McLeod, 45, of Carpentersville died Wednesday at the University of Chicago Hospital.
He was born in Amarillo, TX on May 24, 1955, the son of Billy Mack & Lucretia McLeod.
Gregory was a 14 year resident of the area. He was a truck driver for Coyote Cartage of East Dundee.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne to whom he was married
on February 14, 1993; five sons, Eric, Cody, Alex, Josh and Austin; two daughters, Nicole and Sara; two sisters, Brenda (Ken) Hans of Winnetka, CA and Renee McLeod of Yorba Linda, CA; a brother, Jessie Maiale of Riverside, Calif.; grandmothers, Thelma McLeod and Brownie Jester both of Amarillo, TX; and many aunts andcousins.
He was preceded in death by hisparents.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Couvillian officiating. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Friday March 30, 2001 from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home.
Charles A. Muirhead
Charles A. Muirhead, 38, of Plato Center, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 27, 2001 in his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1962 in Elgin, the son of Robert C. and Susanne Runde Muirhead.
He was a graduate of Burlington Center High School Class of 1981 and then earned a Degree in Farm Operations from Iowa State University. He had farmed in Plato Center all of his life.
Charlie was active in community events, including serving as a Plato Township Trustee since 1995. He also served on the Education Commission at St. Laurence Catholic School in Elgin. He served on the board of Kane County Mutual Insurance and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary in Hawaii.
Survivors include a daughter, Allyson; a son, Cameron; his parents, Robert and Susanne Muirhead of Plato Center; a sister, Sarah (Mike) Petersdorf of Minneapolis, Minn.; two nephews, Aaron and Alec Petersdorf; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Byron and Alvena Runde; and his paternal grandparents, Robert B. and Elizabeth Muirhead.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 31 in the Cornerstone United Methodist Church (corner of Russell Rd. and Muirhead Rd.), the Rev. Paul Meyers and Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muirhead Children's Education Fund at Kane Co. Bank, Burlington or a charity of your choice.
Paul L. Larson
Paul L. Larson, 84, passed away peacefully, in Sherman Hospital on Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
He was born Nov. 29, 1916 in Elgin, the son of Ralph and Antonia (Anderson) Larson.
Paul graduated from Elgin High School in 1934. He was a Veteran, having served in the US Army during WWII. Paul was a self-employed Mason Contractor in the Elgin and Fox Valley area prior to his retirement, and was a 65 year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local 27. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin, where his great grandparents were Charter members; a member of the American Legion Post #57; the Elgin Elks Lodge 737; and the Anvil Club of East Dundee.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Bayer), whom he married
on May 6, 1939; four children, Diana (Bob) O'Connor of Elgin, Susan (Charles) Payne of Sycamore, Karen Dingel of Elgin and Paul R. (Diana) Larson of Elgin; 12 grandchildren, Laurie (Steve) Jurs, Gary (Tamara) and Scott (Darlene) O'Connor, Lynn (Bryan) Johnson, Leigh Ann (Chris) Stewart, Stephanie, Jeffrey (Judy) and Melissa Payne, Keri Fowler and Amy Dingel; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Nicole, Brad, Samantha, Sarah, Jessica and Emily; and his special pet, Howie.
He was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin, the Rev. Paul Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Sunday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Monday starting at 9:15 a.m. until the time of services in the church.

George J.C. Shriver
George J.C. Shriver, 80, of Streamwood, formerly of Joliet, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 in Joliet.
He was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Oilton, Okla., the son of George and Viva Johnson Shriver.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Janet; a daughter, Brenda of Delaware; a son, Blair of New Lenox; three sisters, Helen Ogden of Arizona, Jerri Kay Rush and Patti Watson, both of Arkansas; and a brother, Dwight of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday in the Madison Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be private in River Valley Memorial Gardens, Elgin.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
Eva Lorie Frankfurt
Eva Lorie Frankfurt, 99, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002 in her home. She was born December 2, 1902 in Kankakee, IL and was the daughter of Lew Wallace and Fidelia (Parmentier) Smith. Resident of Elgin for many years, Eva worked at B.J. Phillips Auto Parts Co. as the office manager for 16 years prior to her retirement in 1967.
Member of the Samaritan Rebekah Lodge #120 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 57.
She is survived by a great nephew, Michael Lee Smith of Elgin and his daughter, Jessica; numerous nephews and nieces; also dear friends, Patricia and Natalie Andreen.
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold H. Frankfurt on April 27, 1997; three sisters, Anna Mae Smith, Luella Burnidge and Dorothy Tillatson.

Gary E. Mazzeri, DC, 58, of Carpentersville, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at the Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest. He was born on March 31, 1943 in Omaha, NE. He was the son of Achilles and Madeline (nee Borini) Mazzeri. He was a 32 year resident of the Carpentersville area. He was owner and operator of Marreri Chiropractic Clinic in Elgin. He was a member of the Fox Valley Evangelical Free Church of West Dundee.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary E. (nee Schuster) Mazzeri, whom he married
on July 6, 1968; two sons, Joshua of East Dundee and Luke (Charay) of Elgin; five grandchildren, Kelly, Giovanna, Raven, Genevra and Olegio; two brothers, Dennis of Elgin and Peter (Susan) of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the Fox Valley Evangelical Free Church, 37 W 073 Huntley Road, West Dundee. The Rev. Tom Atchison, Pastor, will officiate. Ronald Lee Braasch "Gator/Papa Gator"
Ronald Lee "Gator/Papa Gator" Braasch, of Woodstock, GA, formerly of Elgin, died Wednesday, March 16, 2003 in Atlanta, GA after a lingering illness.
He was born on November 5, 1937 in Elgin, the son of Carl and Rose (nee Schuman) Braasch.
Ron was born and raised in Elgin and attended Elgin schools. He was a Commercial and Semi Truck driver for over 35 years. Working for some of Elgin's first families of business. Most recently, before his retirement, he drove for A-1 Cab Co.
He is survived by five sons, Carl (Jennifer), Danny (Doreen), Scott (Rosemary), and Owen all of GA and Gerald (Cari) of TN; a daughter, Margaret (Sam) Stewart of GA; a sister, Judy Markham of Elgin; a brother, David (Marianne) of Melrose Park; 17 grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a great great nephew; his wife, Karen Braasch of Sycamore; four step children; and six step grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at 7 PM at Madison Funeral Home with Pastor James Townsend officiating. Private burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Rosemary S. Koerner
Rosemary S. Koerner, 73, of Hampshire, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born October 29, 1929 in Harmony, IL, the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Keenan) Schultz.
Rosemary was a 1947 graduate of Hampshire High School and married
Donald W. Koerner on October 15, 1949 in Hampshire.
Mrs. Koerner had been employed as a secretary for Hampshire High School and then as the Cafeteria Supervisor for Elgin Academy where she served 18 years. She was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Hampshire and St. Mary Catholic Church of Elgin. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Hampshire.
Surviving are her husband, Don; two children, Dennis (Kay) Koerner of McHenry and Donna Jo (David) Eberly of Hampshire; three grandchildren, Lora (fiance, John Kuehl) Koerner of McHenry, Brian and Sarah Eberly of Hampshire; a sister, Grace Scott of Hampshire; brothers, Robert (Mabel) Schultz of Huntley and Donald (Madeline) Schultz of Vero Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Glenn, Edward "Buzz" and Charles "Skip" Schultz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
