Florence E. Mowen, 82, of Elgin, formerly of Waukegan, passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at her home.
She was born June 23, 1920 in Galva, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and Gunhild Larsen Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia (Ron) Schram of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack P; a sister, Violet; and three brothers, Edwin, Russell and Lester.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at 10:30 AM at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
There will be no visitation.

Beverly J. Pate
Beverly J. Pate, 68, of Algonquin, formerly of Elgin, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 in the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago, IL.
She was born October 1, 1934 in Elgin, the daughter of Kurt and Edith (Nielson) Steffens.
Beverly had worked as a Special Education Teachers Assistant for School District U-46 for many prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Dale F. Pate of Algonquin, IL; two children, Cynthia (Arland Jr.) Elstrom and Craig Pate both of Algonquin, IL; four grandchildren, Anthony, Douglas, Tiffany and William; her brother, Neil (Diane) Steffens of Elgin, IL; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Douglas Pate.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dorothy M. Schambach
Dorothy M. Schambach, 86, of Elgin passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003 in the Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village, IL.
She was born September 7, 1916 in Francesville, IN, the daughter of Ernst and Emma Anliker.
Dorothy had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory for many years. Her most noble occupation was being a loving wife, caring mother and the "Best" grandmother and great grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Schambach of Elgin, whom she married
on August 25, 1946; three sons, Stanley (Norma) of Elgin, Donald (Leann) and Leslie (Alison) both of St. Charles, IL; a daughter, Carol Schambach of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Elmer (Emilie) Anliker of IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the Apostolic Christian Church, 2740 W. Highland Ave, Elgin. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30 and 5 to 9 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Wednesday in the church from 9 AM until the time of services.

Alice June Stewart
Alice June Stewart, 76, of Elgin passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
She was born June 2, 1926 in Greenville, IL, the daughter of Charles and Edith Taylor.
Survivors include eight children, Marla (Dennis) Cunningham of South Elgin, Barbara (Edwin) Lancaster of Elizabethtown, IL, Stephen (Christine) Stewart, Gordon (Louise) Stewart both of South Elgin, Bill Boehm of Rockford, IL, Phyllis Coburn of South Elgin, Mary (Steve) Gerchefske of Springfield, MO and Ray (Terri) Boehm of Murfreesboro, TN; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Byron (Dorothy), Jon and Wayne (Marge) Taylor; and her best friend, Alice Stading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell R. Stewart in 1979; grandson, Brian in infancy; a granddaughter, Laura; a sister, Lois Hite; and a brother, Chuck Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 11:30 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
Ronald E. Dalluege
Ronald E. Dalluege, 48, of Elgin, passed away Friday, March 30, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born February 20, 1953 in Sterling, IL and was the son of Edward and Vlasta (Krchak) Dalluege.
Ron owned and operated ADC and Associates in Elgin.
Survivors include his daughter, Allison Dalluege of Geneva, IL; his father, Edward of Elgin; a sister, Diane (Ronald) Cook of Floyds Knobs, IN; and his close friend, Carrie Mellom of West Dundee, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1983.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Father Mark Tusken officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
Charles S. Forsythe
Charles S. Forsythe, 78, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born Aug. 28, 1922 in Griswold, Iowa, the son of Perry and Frances Scott Forsythe.
He had been a resident of Elgin since 1953. He was employed as an Independent Life Insurance Agent and then was employed by Craig Abbott Realty before retiring. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Air Force and remained in the Air Force Reserves attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin; the Elks Lodge 737 of Elgin; was Past Commander of the U.S. Power Squadron; and past member of the Elgin Planning Commission.
Survivors include his wife, CarolynWilliams Forsythe; a daughter, Nancy (Gregory) Serafin of Belvidere; three grandchildren, Gregory (Jannette)Serafin of Genoa, Jennifer Anne Serafin (finacee - Richard Corcoran) of McDonough, Ga. and Susan Serafin of Sycamore; four great-grandchildren, Dustin, Larrissa, Nicholas and Anna; and two sisters, Jo Jane (Don) Walter of Walnut, Iowa and Carol Ann (Michael) DeBruyn of Davenport, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Monday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Thomas More Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m., the Rev. Richard Russo officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of Masses in his name.
Nicholas Quinn Girard
Nicholas Quinn Girard, 5 months old passed away Friday, March 30, 2001 in Lutheran General Hospital N.I.C.U., Park Ridge, IL.
He was born October 20, 2000 in Park Ridge, IL, the son of Kenneth and Debbie Girard.
Nicholas is survived by his parents; a brother, Zachary; a sister, Lauren; his grandparents; and his great grandmother.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee with Father Richard Rosinski officiating. Burial will be in Dundee Township cemetery East.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
Paul L. Larson
Paul L. Larson, 84, passed away peacefully, in Sherman Hospital on Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
He was born Nov. 29, 1916 in Elgin, the son of Ralph and Antonia (Anderson) Larson.
Paul graduated from Elgin High School in 1934. He was a Veteran, having served in the US Army during WWII. Paul was a self-employed Mason Contractor in the Elgin and Fox Valley area prior to his retirement, and was a 65 year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local 27. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin, where his great grandparents were Charter members; a member of the American Legion Post #57; the Elgin Elks Lodge 737; and the Anvil Club of East Dundee.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Bayer), whom he married
on May 6, 1939; four children, Diana (Bob) O'Connor of Elgin, Susan (Charles) Payne of Sycamore, Karen Dingel of Elgin and Paul R. (Diana) Larson of Elgin; 12 grandchildren, Laurie (Steve) Jurs, Gary (Tamara) and Scott (Darlene) O'Connor, Lynn (Bryan) Johnson, Leigh Ann (Chris) Stewart, Stephanie, Jeffrey (Judy) and Melissa Payne, Keri Fowler and Amy Dingel, Angie and Julie Larson; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Nicole, Brad, Samantha, Sarah, Jessica and Emily; and his special pet, Howie.
He was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin, the Rev. Paul Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Sunday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Monday starting at 9:15 a.m. until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be made to the church.

Elvira C. Michalak of Powersville, MO, died March 24, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Michael; three daughters, Patricia (Don) Mclain, Karen Michalak and Sandra (Ramiro) Olvera. Grandmother of seven. Great-grandmother of three. One brother, Joseph Priola.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Community Funeral Home, Rt. 25 in East Dundee. Burial will be at Dundee East cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.
