Michael L. Rowland
Michael L. Rowland, 42, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in his home.
He was born August 19, 1960 in Chicago, the son of William and Dorothy Durlack Rowland.
He had been a resident of Elgin for the past four years. He was involved in the music business as a producer.
Surviving are two sons, Matthew Rowland and Joseph Rowland of Elgin; fiancee, Tiffany Oxley of Elgin; a brother, Mark (Jeri) Rowland of Algonquin; and a sister, Peggy Rowland of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 4 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Darren Sloniger officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 PM until the time of services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rowland Childrens Education Fund.

Elizabeth Martinak Badgerow
Elizabeth Martinak Badgerow, age 80, passed away April 1, 2004 in Temple, TX. She was born in San Antonio, TX.
She is survived by her son, Dan Martinak; grandchildren, Kristin, Heather, and Adam; five great-grandchildren.

Mary Ciaccio
Mary Ciaccio, 100, of Elgin, passed away April 1, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on April 16, 1903 in Italy and was the daughter of Sam and Frances Sorce.
She attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
She is survived by seven children, John Ciaccio of Port S. Lucie, FL, Sam (Marilyn) Ciaccio of Elgin, IL, Frank (Harriet) Ciaccio of Elgin, IL, Joseph (Marietta) Ciaccio of Tuscon, AZ, JoAnne (James) Jochum of Elgin, IL, James (Patti) Ciaccio of Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard (Doris) Ciaccio of Little Rock, AR; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Carm Levey of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Sam (Frances) Sorce of Sarasota, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam in 1982; one son, John Ciaccio in 1977; one grandson, Mark Ciaccio in 1977; a daughter-in-law, Florence Ciaccio in 2003; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin, with Rev. Andrew Hougan officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Monday in the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the St. Thomas More Building Fund or a charity of one's choice.

Lorranie M. Dunlap
Lorraine M. Dunlap, 85, of Downers Grove, formerly of Carpentersville, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Resthaven of Downers Grove. She was born on June 28, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Otto H. and Nothberga (nee Engerizer) Lubeck. Mrs. Dunlap was a former resident of the Carpentersville area for over 40 years. She was a former 25 year employee of the Dundee Township Public Library and was a member of the Dundee Township Senior Citizens Organization and of St. Monica Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Patricia M. (Douglas) Aniballi of Lombard and Michael (Joyce) Dunlap of Burlington; her grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Kinney of Lombard, David (Laura) Aniballi of Darien, Heather (Steve Goebel of Aurora, Tracey Dunlap of Gilberts and Megan Dunlap of Chicago; five great grandchildren; and two step brothers, Eugene (Gail) Lenard and Erwin (Carol) Lenard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis E. Dunlap on May 3, 2000; and a step brother, Lawrence Lenard.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 10 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the CNS Hospice, 690 E. North Avenue, Carol Stream, IL, 60188-2172.

Lillie H. "Pete" Homuth
Lillie H. "Pete" Homuth, 84, of Hampshire, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born January 27, 1920 in Kimbrae, MN, the daughter of Emil and Hannah (Lundquist) Peterson. Pete served in World War II as a nurse anesthetist, achieving the rank of 1st Lt. with the Army's 95th Evacuation Hospital serving the European theater. She met her husband Ernest J. Homuth of Plato Center while in service and they married November 17, 1945 in Dundee, MN. They resided in Hebron, IL and Janesville, WI before moving to Hampshire in 1962. Pete served as an RN at Sherman Hospital from 1962 until retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Homuth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Burlington, Hampshire VFW Post #8043, Hampshire VFW Auxiliary, Hampshire Woman's Club, and delivered Meals on Wheels for ten years.
Surviving are four children, Jan (Rick) Wessel of Hampshire, Linda (Ian) Cannar of Cottonwood, CA, Bill (Rose) Homuth of Hampshire, Tommy (Lisa) Homuth of Morgan Hill, CA; three grandchildren, Doug Homuth, Melissa (Aaron) Kelly and Kaley Wessel; a sister, Sonja Hecker of MN, sisters-in-law, Josephine Homuth of Elgin and LaVerne Peterson of MN, and brother-in-law, Ralph (Red) Vaughan of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie on April 25, 1983 and two brothers Clint and Lloyd Peterson.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the St. John Lutheran Church, 13 N 535 French Rd., Burlington with the Rev. Howard Gleason officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens in West Dundee.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire and at the Church on Tuesday prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or the the Hampshire VFW.

James W. Kaczmarek
James W. Kaczmarek, 60, of Carpentersville, died Friday at his home. He was born in Chicago on September 12, 1943 to Stanley B. and Frances (nee Wegrzyn) Kaczmarek. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #703 and a former driver for HPR Link Logistics in Bloomingdale. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne (nee Edwards); his children, JoAnne McLeod, James Kaczmarek, and Michael (Debbie) Kaczmarek, all of Carpentersville; sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Kaczmarek of Carpentersville, Mary Lou (Robert) Pope of River Grove, and Judy DiGiacomo of Carpentersville; grandchildren, Nicole DeLacy of Carpentersville, James Kaczmarek of East Dundee, Tyler Kaczmarek, Sara McLeod, Jacob Kaczmarek, Austin McLeod and Madison Kaczmarek, all of Carpentersville; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother in infancy; a sister, Dorothy Brooks; a granddaughter, Heather Kaczmarek; a brother-in-law, William Edwards; and his son-in-law, Gregory McLeod in 2001.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery in West Dundee. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. For information call (847)426-3436.

Kate M. Lipuma
Kate M. Lipuma (nee Meehan) passed away January 11, 2004, at her home in Downers Grove, IL. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 12, 1923, and grew up in Chicago, IL.
She was proud to have served her country as a Lt.jg in the U.S. Navy, 1944-46. Kate was a one-time Dean of Women at Loyola University, Chicago 1949-51. She married Eugene N. Lipuma in 1951 and after his death became a resident of Downers Grove in 1986, where she was a member of the Belmont Unit of Homemakers, Friends of the Library, and 1/2 Plimoth(sic) Plantation, Writer's Workshop and The Downers Grove Historical Society.
Kate was the mother of Bridget (Robert) Gransee, Timothy (Siony), Daniel, Michael and Ellen. She was grandmother of Ryan and T.C. Lipuma and Andrew James, all of California. She was a sister to Margaret Morello of Downers Grove, IL, John Meehan of Pinole, CA and Patricia (Nell) Bartos of West Dundee, IL. She was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Leola Sontag Meehan and John J. Meehan, and her husband, Eugene N. Lipuma.
Kate was laid to rest March 12, 2004, at Golden Gate Veterans Memorial cemetery, San Bruno, CA.
Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Paul E. Rosenberger
Paul E. Rosenberger, 82, of Elgin passed away Friday, April 2, 2004 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield. He was born April 26, 1921 in Elgin, the son of John and Pauline Hoffman Rosenberger. He had been a resident of Elgin all of his life. He was employed by Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works for 38 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 745th Tank Battalion.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Wunderlich Rosenberger, whom he married on September 25, 1948; a daughter, Paula Rosenberger of Elgin; a son, Paul L. Rosenberger of Elgin; and two grandchildren, Tana and John Rosenberger of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 11 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Martin Balzer officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of services in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Louise Smalldone
Louise Smalldone, age 84, of Eugene, OR, formerly of Streamwood, IL passed away April 1, 2004.
Beloved mother to Joyce (Gary) Morgan, Joseph (Kathy) Smalldone, Jackie (Tim) Frew and Carol Clermont; grandmother of six; and great-grandmother of six.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph, on October 31, 2004; her parents; eleven brothers and sisters. She will be missed so very much by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be private.

Monsignor Michael A. Binsfeld
Monsignor Michael A. Binsfeld, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Crystal Lake, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, after a brief illness.
Monsignor Binsfeld was born on Dec. 18, 1941, in Evanston, Ill., the son of Michael A. and Emily (Smith) Binsfeld.
He attended Loyola Academy from 1955 to 1959 and St. John Vianney College Seminary, Bloomington, Ohio from 1959 to 1961. Monsignor pursued his philosophy and theology studies at The St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. from 1961 to 1967, and was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood by the Most Reverend George J. Biskup on May 27, 1967, at St. James Pro-Cathedral, Rockford.
Monsignor Binsfeld served in three assignments as an Assistant Pastor, from June to Aug. 1967 at St. Rita Parish, Aurora, from Aug. 1967 to June 1971 at St. Mary Parish, Woodstock and from June 1971 to July 1976 at Holy Family Parish, Rockford. At this time he was named the Chairman of the Diocesan Vocation Commission and on July 1, 1976 he was appointed the Diocesan Director of Family Life, a position he held until Jan. 15, 1983. In July 1976 Monsignor was also named the Assistant Chancellor for the Diocese, a post which he held until Jan. 15, 1983. On Jan. 13, 1983, Monsignor Binsfeld was appointed Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Elgin, where he served until Sept. 1, 1994. He was appointed Vicar Forane for the Elgin Deanery on Jan. 25, 1993 and served until Sept. 1, 1994.
On Sept. 1, 1994 Monsignor was appointed the Episcopal Vicar for Clergy and Religious and served in this office with distinction until July 1, 2000. During this same time he also served as Director of Vocations from Sept. 1994 to June 1996 and as Vice-Chancellor for the Diocese from Aug. 1995 to July 1, 2000. On Jan. 3, 1996, Our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, named him his Prelate of Honor. In addition to his many duties as an Episcopal Vicar he also served as the ordinary confessor to the Franciscan Sisters at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. After a brief sabbatical, Monsignor Binsfeld was appointed Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Crystal Lake on Oct. 1, 2000 and served there to the day of his death.
Monsignor Binsfeld is survived by his sister, Marietta (Bill) Hipskind of Oak Brook; a brother, James (Mary) Binsfeld of Chicago; many beloved nieces and nephews including Colleen Binsfeld, James Binsfeld, Michael (Karen) Hipskind, Lisa (Michael) Moran, Stephen (Nora) Hipskind and Sharon (Lionel) Iorgulescu; beloved grand nieces and nephews include Samantha, Caitlin, Casey, Matthew, Leo, Timothy, Liam, Charles and William.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, Bishop of Rockford, with his brother priests co-celebrating. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Crystal Lake on Friday, April 6, 2001 at 11 a.m. and burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Winnebago, Ill.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with a Christian Wake Serviced recited at 7:45 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Building/Rectory Fund.
