Paul E. Rosenberger
Paul E. Rosenberger, 82, of Elgin passed away Friday, April 2, 2004 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield. He was born April 26, 1921 in Elgin, the son of John and Pauline Hoffman Rosenberger. He had been a resident of Elgin all of his life. He was employed by Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works for 38 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 745th Tank Battalion.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Wunderlich Rosenberger, whom he married
on September 25, 1948; a daughter, Paula Rosenberger of Elgin; a son, Paul L. Rosenberger of Elgin; and two grandchildren, Tana and John Rosenberger of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 11 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Martin Balzer officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of services in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Michael E. Banke
Michael E. Banke, 38 of Ishpeming, Michigan formerly of Elgin passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming where he had resided for the past three weeks. He was born September 24, 1964 in Aurora. He was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1982. He did construction work for most of his working life, prior to his ill health. He resided in the Ishpeming area the past five years and enjoyed his motorcycle and his friends associated with motorcycling.
Surviving are his two children, Damon and Sabrina; his father, Eugene Banke of Elgin; sister, Sandra (Craig) Grant of Marengo; two brothers, Don Banke of Roscoe, IL and James Banke of Elgin; three nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Banke.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private.
George D. Elliott, Sr.
George D. Elliott, Sr., 69, of Elgin died Friday, April 4, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born February 13, 1934 in East Dundee to Dallis and Anna (nee Schumacher) Elliott.
He was a member of the John Birch Society. He owned and operated Elliott Plumbing in Elgin for 32 years. He was an avid Bears Fan and loved to spend time cooking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, George (Donna) Elliott Jr. of El Dorado Springs, MO, Kathy (Bill) Werres of St. Charles, John (Linda) Elliott and Paul (Betty) Elliott both of Elgin and Michael (Nancy) Elliott of Sandwich; step daughters, Crystal Dowty of McHenry, Darlene (Kenneth) Zumbek of Lake in the Hills and Brenda (Raymond) Hamacek of Marengo; and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Funeral Services will be in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service on Monday. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Anne G. Faber
Anne G. Faber, 92, of Maple Park, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 2, 2003.
She was born April 23, 1910 in Virgil Township, IL, the daughter of Henry and Susanna (Hamsmith) Butt.
Growing up in Virgil/Maple Park area, Anne was bright, self-assured and independent even as a youth. She recalled being allowed, on occasion, to drive the family car to S.S. Peter & Paul grade school in Virgil. On February 8, 1934, she was united in marriage to Joseph Faber. For most of the next 69 years, they made their home on Freeland Road where Anne enjoyed the life of a farmer's wife and shared equally with her husband in the rigors of planting and harvesting as well as raising their family. Anne loved gardening, canning, cooking and baking for her family. Every inch a farmer, yet every bit a lady, Anne wore a housedress wether at home or in the field. Forthright and in many ways, private, Anne knew her own mind and savored the joy of life long learning.
She was a member of the St. Gall Church, Elburn and very active in her faith. The love of her life was her family and her heartfelt devotion to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Marjorie (Robert) Spellmeyer of Hampshire, IL, Glenn (Jane Schwartz) Faber of Milford, OH, Frederick (Helen Emberson) of Asheville, NC and Raymond (Lola Lehmann) Faber of Minneiska, MN; nine grandchildren, Grant and Neal Spellmeyer, Keith Faber, Sarah Faber Epplen, Ellen, Daniel, Lance, Andrea and Joseph Faber; seven great grandchildren, Gavin, Brennan and Quinlyn Spellmeyer, Avery Spellmeyer, Laken Faber, Darcy Faber and Adria Epplen; five sisters, Martha Kirchman of Sycamore, IL, Mary Gudek of Woodsville, New Hampshire, Isabelle Butt of Elgin, IL, Lucy Mogler of Rockford, IL and Jane Usczienski of Elgin, IL; two brothers- and four sisters-in-law, Emma Butts of Palestine, IL, Rita Butts of Elgin, IL, Theresa Herrmann of Sycamore, IL, Mary Johnson of Kaneville, IL, Lawrence (Pauline) Faber and Anthony (Mary) Faber of Virgil, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers, Charles, Henry, Robert, John, James and Arthur.
Friends may call at visitation hours Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL from 3 to 8 PM. The Rosary will be held at 4 PM.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 7 at 10:30 AM at St. Gall Church, 100 Shannon St., Elburn, IL. an hour of visitation will precede the Mass at the church.
Memorial gifts in her memory may be made either to Masses or to the charity of your choice.

Celia Valentine Lewandowski, 92, of Elgin, passed away March 22, 2003.

Allison Rejman
Allison Rejman, 30, of Elgin passed away Friday, April 4, 2003 in the Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born November 2, 1972 in Schaumburg, IL and was the daughter, of Richard and Christine (Bailie) Rejman.
Allison was a graduate of Elgin High School, Class of 1991 and achieved her Associates Degree in Child Development from Elgin Community College. She had worked at Target in Schaumburg for the past ten years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Elgin. She enjoyed her family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her parents of Elgin; three brothers, Court (Beth) Rejman of North Barrington, IL, Blake (Christine) Rejman of South Elgin, IL and Todd (Laura) Rejman of Cary, IL; four nieces and nephews, Connor, Dillon, Jared and Mallory; and her aunt, Patricia Casey of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11 AM in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Edward Seisser officiating. Interment will be private in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be on Sunday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin from 4 to 9 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until the time of Mass in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Foundation.
Carl Richard Runge
Carl Richard Runge, age 73, of Sugar Grove, IL, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL. He was born on August 1, 1929 in Elgin, IL, the son of Carl Christian and Ruth (Rosenthal) Runge.
Carl was united in marriage on July 18, 1953 in Elgin, IL to the former Helen Johnson, and they have spent the next 50 happy years of their lives together. Mr. Runge was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Plano, IL.
Carl was an electrician for 37 years until his retirement. He had also farmed in this area throughout his entire life.
Carl served his country and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. His love of flying continued throughout his life and he was still proud to possess his pilot's license. Carl was a member of the IBEW Local #461, the Kendall County Farm Bureau, the Missouri Cattleman's Association, and the Sugar Grove American Legion Post #1271. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Carl especially enjoyed the many happy times spent with his grandson, Alexander John.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Runge of Sugar Grove, his mother, Ruth J. Runge of Clinton, WI, his son, Erick (Michele) Runge of Sugar Grove, his grandson, Alexander John Runge of Sugar Grove, three sisters, Diane Koch of Washington, IL, Judith (Herman) Krunfus of Cherry Valley, IL, Linda (Jerry) Studt of Edgerton, WI, his sister-in-law, Mary Runge of Elgin, IL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carl C. Runge, and his brother, John Runge.
Funeral services for Carl Runge will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL with the Reverend James Reents officiating.
Interment will follow at the Jericho cemetery in Sugar Grove, IL.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.

Beverly Kay Stevens Shattuck
Beverly Kay Stevens Shattuck, of LaVernia, TX, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at the age of 61 years, due to a tragic automobile accident as she was returning home from her job working with children at school. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandma and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Shattuck of LaVernia, TX; a daughter, Roxanne Hensley of LaVernia, TX; a son, Russell Armentrout of Apache Junction, Arizona, other children, Jenny, April, George, Pam and Marty; grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Devon, Bobby, Vanessa, Romie, Aleksandra, David and Shelby; two brothers, Wally and David Stevens of Maple Park, IL; two sisters, Carol Bowman of Tompkinsville, KY and Judy Lungren of Wauconda, IL.
Born in Elgin, Illinois January 27, 1943. An Elgin High School graduate, Class of 1960.
Parents, Perry and Edna Stevens and a daughter, Eddie Jo preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held February 22. 2003 at 11 AM at the LaVernia Church of Christ.
Alice L. Shortz
Alice L. Shortz, 79, of Elgin passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 in her home.
She was born March 26, 1924 in Elgin, the daughter of Stanley and Elma Sund Boncoskey.
She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life and was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1942. She had been employed at the Elgin Mental Health Care Center for over 20 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She loved her grandchildren, had a great sense of humor and loved to shop.
Surviving are three sons, Steve Craig of Schaumburg, Michael (Judy) Brownfield of Elgin and David Shortz (Pamela Mall) of DeKalb; four grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley Boncoskey of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sherry Boncoskey; and a brother, Ralph Boncoskey.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 1 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
Visitation will be held Monday from 11 AM until the time of services in the funeral home.

Mildred Rose Bailey, age 46, of Elgin, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2003.
