Janice Wesemann (Tucker), age 66, of Elgin passed away Saturday, April 3, 2004 in her home. She was born February 18, 1938 in Belle Plaine, IA to Daniel and Louise (Behounek) Upah.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Wesemann (Laurence Bailey) of Hanover Park; and her mother of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Tucker on March 22, 2004 and by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2004 at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Rev. Ralph McFaddin officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private.
Ralph L. "Rusty" Doty
Ralph L. "Rusty" Doty, 75, of Huntley, formerly of Hampshire, passed away Sunday evening, April 6, 2003 in his home.
He was born March 18, 1928 in Hampshire, the son of Raymond and Irene (Getzelman) Doty. Rusty was a 1945 graduate of Hampshire High School and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He married
Theresa A. Seyller on September 17, 1955 in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire.
Mr. Doty was a longtime truck driver serving 35 years with the Cole Trucking Co. of Huntley and then for Dean Foods for several years. He was a member of the VFW Post 8043 of Hampshire and enjoyed bowling, cards and yardwork.
Surviving are his wife "Tea", daughters, Kathleen "Sue" Doty of Huntley and Kelly Doty of Des Plaines; four brothers, Ronald Doty of Elgin, William (Caroline) Doty of Genoa, Dean (Marie) Doty of Evansville, WI, and Dale (Evelyn) Doty of Footeville, WI; a sister, Rita "Peg" Bowen of VanBuren, AR and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and Everett Doty and a sister Juanita Doty.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rev. Fr. Robert M. Garrity officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the St. Mary cemetery in Huntley.
Visitation will be held form 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mark Andrew Homfeldt
Mark Andrew Homfeldt, 32, of Elgin, IL passed away Sunday, April 6 in Elgin, IL. He was born August 15, 1970 in Elgin to Lawrence E. and Judith Ann (Lindoerfer) Homfeldt. He had attended Elgin High School, was employed as a tool and die maker. Mark was an all around athlete and was a member of the American Bowling Conference, Elgin City Softball League and played on the "Muggas."
He is survived by his mother, Judith Homfeldt of Elgin, his brother, Kevin J. Homfeldt of Elgin and his sister, Jill A. Homfeldt of Elgin; his nephew, Andre D. Johnson and his niece, Kyla L. Johnson, both of Elgin. Many loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel with Rev. Mona Walker of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation Wednesday, April 9 between 4-8 p.m. at the chapel.
Rose M. Schultz Morton
Rose M. Schultz Morton, 81, of Elgin passed away Friday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born February 19, 1922 in Roselle, IL and was the daughter of Conrad and Marie (Gerber) Rechsteiner. Rose had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory and Shedds/Bartush Lipton Foods for many years prior to her retirement. She will be fondly remembered for her baking, and always brought a smile to your face with a "Yodel." Member of the Teamsters Union Local #330. Member of the Swiss Club.
Survivors include three children, Darlene Erboe, Dennis (Holly) Schultz and Bonnie Frederickson, six grandchildren, Teresa, Brian (Rebecca) and Rick Erboe; Jacob and Heather Schultz and Chad Frederickson, three great grandchildren, Cory, Tami and Kaitlin; her sister, Alice Stading of Florida.
Preceded by her parents, her husband Isom "Ike" Morton in 1983, one grandson, Mark Erboe and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Richard Sanders officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Omission of flowers is requested, with memorials made to the family.
Charles J. Saelens
Charles J. Saelens, 72, of Durand, IL died at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 29, 1930 in St. Charles, IL to Charles and Mary (Heisten) Saelens. Chuck was united in marriage to Marlene A. Kelley on August 23, 1952 in Elgin. He was self-employed as a farmer in the stateline area for more than 50 years and was a real estate agent for Bix Realty for several years. He hosted numerous sweet corn boils across Northern Illinois. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Winnebago County Farm Bureau. He attended St. Patrick's Grade School in St. Charles, IL and graduated from Marmion Military Academy. Everyone who ever met him has a story about Charlie. He will be fondly remembered by his bold personality and his big heart.
He is survived by his wife, two children, Kelli (Max) Sinclair of DeKalb, IL and Jim (Melissa) Saelens of Durand, IL, two grandchildren, Ryan and Seth Saelens, two brothers, Jim (Phyllis) Saelens of Gig Harbor, WA and Ed (Cathy) Saelens of Paw Paw, IL and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Saelens, two brothers, Francis and Richard Saelens, a sister Elizabeth Saelens, and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, IL with the Msgr. Eric Barr, St. Mary Catholic Church, Durand, IL and Rev. Al Neumann, St. Catherine Catholic Church, Genoa, IL officiating. Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. prior to mass at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic cemetery, Durand, IL. Friends may call at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, IL from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A memorial is being established.
Esther K. Fox
Esther K. Fox, 89, of Elgin, formerly of San Antonio, TX passed away April 7, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on July 27, 1914 in San Antonio, TX and was the daughter of Lawrence and Emma (Alberthal) Kessler.
Member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin.
She is survived by five children, Maurice (Elizabeth) Fox of New Orleans, LA, Frances (Robert) Meek of Elgin, Maureen (Alan) Mikucki of Mayfield, NY, Rosemary Persyn of Elgin, and Janet Fox of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Scott (Vicki) Fox, Brian Persyn, Jon Meek, Sara (Mark) Sainty, Matthew (Jennifer) Mikucki and Jennifer (Andrew) Julie; one sister, Dorothy Weber of Mountatin View, CA; one brother, Charles (Jane) Kessler of Fredericksburg, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mauric Fox in 1972; and one brother, James Kessler.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with prayers recited at 7:15 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospice, 77 N. Airlite St., Elgin, IL 60123.
Marilyn L. Shirley
Marilyn L. Shirley, age 73, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2004. She was born November 7, 1930, the daughter of Chester and Erma Oswald of Elgin.
She graduated from Elgin High School in 1948. She was a participating member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW Post #1307 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #57. She was employed by Knowles Electronics for 22 years.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert G. Shirley. She was the loving mother of three children, Lynn A. (Michael) Thompson of Indiana, PA, Gail M. Boulton of Elgin, IL and Samuel C. (Angela) Shirley of Elizabethtown, KY; four grandsons, John W. (Lisa) Eckman of Shelocta, PA, Staff Sgt. USMC Jason R. (Jessica) Eckman, currently serving in Iraq, of Oceanside, CA, Sean P. Eckman of West Palm Beach, FL and Scott R. Shirley of Elizabethtown, KY; one granddaughter, DCH 2/C USN Amanda G. Shirley of Norfolk, VA.
She is survived by a brother, Donald L. (Yasuko) Oswald of Gwen, MI.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Calvin and step-father, John Calvin of Hot Springs, AK.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service and reception will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the American Legion Post #57, 820 N. Liberty St., Elgin, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1307 or the Ladies Auxiliary or the American Legion Post #57.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Tucker on March 22, 2004 and by her father.

Mareta A. Allen
Mareta A. Allen, 72, of Hampshire, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin, after the 6 year courageous challenge of colon-liver cancer.
Mareta was born October 8, 1932 and baptized at the Wesemann family farm on Brier Hill Rd. in Henpeck (now rural Hampshire) IL. She was the daughter of Herman and Mareta (Lenz) Wesemann, the youngest of 5 children. Mareta attended Henpeck Country School and graduated in 1950 from Hampshire High School with 19 classmates. Growing up on the family farm was a true delight to her with the horses, dogs and cats she loved. In her later teens, she played the accordion for dances and weddings as well as on the local radio station. Mareta married
John "Jack" Allen on October 27, 1951 at the Wesemann farm. She worked and lived her entire married
life at the Allen's Corner Garage and Towing in Hampshire. Through the years, Mareta and Jack enjoyed vacationing in the western United States, visiting relatives and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed bingo and being friends with her bingo buddies.
Mrs. Allen was confirmed at and was a lifelong member of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Plato. She credited her extra time of life to the grace of God and to the superb Elgin surgeon, Dr. Raul Aron.
Surviving are her husband, John "Jack"; her daughter, Jane (Ted) Tegtman of Hampshire; three grandchildren, Kristi (Jacob) Castaneda of Oak Forest, Karli Tegtman (fiance Jeff Hamiel) of Kingston and Kolbi Tegtman of Hampshire; great-granddaughter, Cassandra; her sister, Alta (Harold) Dittman; brothers, Herman (Jeanette) Wesemann and Donald (Trudy) Wesemann all of Hampshire; brother-in-law, Gene Allen and his grandson, Jeff (LeAnn) Stuehler and their children, Andrea and Ethan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Mareta was preceded in death by her father, Herman in 1971, her mother, Mareta in 1980; and her brother, Elmer Wesemann in 1993.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Rd., North Plato with the Rev. Robert Degner officiating. Burial will be in the Doty cemetery in Hampshire.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the church and prior to services Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, of North Plato or to the Hampshire Fire Department.

Alice Evelyn Bjorklund (nee Shaveland)
Alice Evelyn Bjorklund, (nee Shaveland), 95, of St. Petersburg, FL, loving wife of Haakon Lars (Lou), 1906-1976, died Sunday, March 13, 2005. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail, Elgin, IL.
Alice was born in Chicago, IL on February 21, 1910, graduated from Carl Schurz High School in 1928, married
on June 25, 1932 and moved to Mt. Prospect, IL in 1941. She retired from Aetna Life Insurance Co. in 1975 and after 40 years of living in Mt. Prospect, moved permanently to St. Petersburg in 1981. Her greatest joys were her family, friends, entertaining, travel, music, bridge, and a daily swim in her community pool.
She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Maurice Shaveland and Richard Anderson. Survivors include her children, Lowell (Janice), Elgin, IL, Bruce (Kathy), Grayslake, IL and Beverly (Jim) O'Neill, Arlington Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Steve, Bradley and Erik Bjorklund, Melinda (Rob) Freres, Kirstin (Paul) Celantano, Kimberly Nickol, Kevin and Brian O'Neill; her great-grandchildren, Robbie and Catherine Freres and Dominic Celentano; as well as many extended family members and friends. Edwin (Unkie) A. Klockowski
Edwin (Unkie) A. Klockowski, 82 of Norridge, Illinois passed away February 1, 2005 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was born January 12, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Zygmunt and Angeline (Nieroda) Klockowski. He was a W.W. II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Divine Savior Church in Norridge, Illinois.
Loving father of Gary (Marcia) Klockowski of Elgin, IL; beloved grandfather of Ashley and Ryan Klockowski; loving brother of the late Zygmunt Klockowski and Joan Waclawski; fond uncle of the late Edward (Barbara) Waclawski, Angie (Roger) Gregory and Leonard (Patricia) Waclawski.

Melissa Lynn Phelan
Melissa Lynn Phelan, 48, of South Elgin, passed away Friday, April 1, 2005 in her home. She was born December 14, 1956 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of George and Eva (Williams) Phelan Sr.
She attended Irving Crown High School and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Accounting. Melissa held a very special place in her heart for animals, flower gardening and enjoyed reading. She was a member of and attended Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Survivors include a sister, Mary (Rev. Allen) Belanger of South Elgin; a brother, George (Elizabeth) Phelan of Algonquin; a niece, Andrea Renee Belanger and fiance, Jason Parthun of South Elgin; and a nephew, Robert Thomas Phelan of Algonquin.
