Rose Marie Eckberg (nee Alirie)
Rose Marie Eckberg (nee Alirie), of South Elgin passed away Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora.
She was born July 15, 1931 in Manassa, Colorado.
Mrs. Eckberg was a homemaker.
She was the beloved wife of Donald W.; loving mother of Douglas (Laura) and Dana (Lorene) Eckberg; fond grandmother of Heather (Lyle) Long, Dustin, Sara, Karl, Katie, Erik, Lindsey and Zachery Eckberg; great-grandmother of Katrina and Jonathon; dear sister of Dolores Speichert, David Elf and Wayne and Victor Alirie; and fond aunt of Sandy Reynolds.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 14, 2001 at the Community United Methodist Church, 400 W. Spring St., South Elgin, IL, 60177.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Community United Methodist Church would be appreciated.

Helen R. Evans
Helen R. Evans, 84, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001 in her home.
She was born in Staunton, Ill. on May 1, 1915, the daughter of Mike and Annie Zarr Novak.
She worked for many years at the Homested and DiLeos Restaurant in Chicago.
Survivors include a son, John (Carol) Kerrigan of Park Ridge; a daughter,Marilyn (Don) Wallace of South Elgin; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph (Henrietta) Novak of Schaumburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held.

Lillian M. Foell
Lillian M. Foell, 102, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2001.
She was born Jan. 29, 1898 in Cissna Park, Ill., the daughter of John and Anna Kropf Hari.
She moved to Elgin in 1922 and was employed by the Elgin Watch Company. She was a long time member of the Sherman Hospital Auxiliary and served on the Board of Directors.
Survivors include her sons, Howard (Janet) of Stuart, Fla., Ronald of Newport Beach, Calif. and Wesley (Anne) of Madison, Wis.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto W. Foell in 1982; and a grandson, Kurt Foell in 1977.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Apostolic Christian Church, Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.,Wednesday until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Chrisitan Resthaven, Elgin.

Helmuth Holze
Helmuth Holze, 75, of Elgin passed away Monday, April 9, 2001 in his home.
He was born July 13, 1925 in Hampshire, the son of Karl and Lena Schroeder Holze.
He had been a resident of the Elgin area all of his life. He was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1944. He then attended the University of Illinois-Champaign where he received a degree in Industrial Design. After graduation he was briefly employed by Brinckley Display in Elgin. The remainder of his life, he was a self-employed Designer Builder and Real Estate Developer. He started his career building homes and apartments in Elgin including the Easy St./Lin Lor Ln. residential subdivision. In the late 1960's he began development of Old World Village in West Dundee which includes commercial and residential property over which he maintained active control throughout his life. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the Army Corp. He was known for his sense of humor and was also an accomplished artist, cartoonist, potter and coffee drinker.
He was a member of The Classic Car Club of America since 1956 and was an avid antique toy collector exhibiting at the Kane Co. Fairgrounds for the past 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Kuestner Holze, whom he married
on Oct. 20, 1951; two daughters, Linda (Jack) Bragg of Crystal Lake and Laura Holze of Elgin; a son, Larry (Beverly) Holze of Wheaton; five granddaughters, Rebecca and Katherine Bragg, Valerie, Talia and Jenna Holze; two sisters-in-law, Helen Holze of Elgin and Ruth Kuestner of Geneva; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Holze.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Thomas Walker officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.
Vernon Paul Keller, Sr.
Vernon Paul Keller, Sr., 88, of Elgin passed away Friday, April 6, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1912 in Burlington, IL, the son of Theodore and Matilda (Eickested) Keller.
On September 17, 1932, he married
Thelma Sportsman in Elgin, IL. He was a casket maker for the Elgin Casket Company for 32 years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in the 1950's.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Capri of New York City, Vernon Keller, Jr. of Lake in the Hills, David Keller of Joliet, Kathleen (Robert) Mulroney of Elgin, Diane (Dean) Knight of Fox River Grove and Christi (Paul) Engen of Elgin; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hallman of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Keller on December 16, 1999; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, 364 E. Division St., Elgin.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin with Father Thomas Burr officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope cemetery.

James J. Walsh, Jr.
James J. Walsh, Jr., 70, of Elgin passed away Monday, April 9, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the son of James and Agnes Walsh, Sr.
James was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Psyco Products for many years, retiring in 1993. James was an avid golfer, and was the manager at Wing Park Golf Course from 1994-2001, and a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Julianna, whom he married
on July 10, 1971; four daughters, Colleen (Jessie) of Elgin, Sharon (Robert) Santoro of Island Lake, IL, Julie Ann Walsh and Jamie (Nick) Liacone both of Streamwood; six grandchildren, Justine, James, Ashley, Samantha, Zoe and Brianna; a sister, Elaine (Thomas) Freeman of Hoffman Estates, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patricia in 1968; and a brother, Richard Walsh.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Laurence Building Fund.
Ruth M. Aurand
Ruth M. Aurand, 87, of Elgin passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. she was born July 23, 1915 in Stephenson County, IL, the daughter of Frank and Lucy Rodebaugh Keister.
Surviving are her five children, Vivian Boyd of Modesto, CA, Arthur Aurand of Monroe, WI, Rosemary Perez of Elgin, Virgil Aurand of Belvidere and Evelyn Falcon of Elgin, 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Aurand and one sister and five brothers, all from the Freeport, IL area.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness, 10N950 Airlite St., Elgin. Burial was private in Algonquin cemetery. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin was in charge of arrangements.
Raymond F. Burkhart
Raymond F. Burkhart, 83, of Carpentersville died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 8, 1919, the son of Raymond F. and Martha (nee Leitch) Burkhart. He was a 27 year resident of the Carpentersville area. He was a World War II Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Louella (nee Thomason) Burkhart. They married
on September 1, 1943. Four children: Ronald of Carpentersville, Donald "Butch" (Gail) Burkhart of Harwood Heights, Lisa (fiance Ray McConnaughay) Burkhart of Carpentersville and Laurie (Elroy) Churkey of Carpentersville, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Linda Graziano in 1986 and one granddaughter: Sarah Burkhart in 2001. Raymond was a triplet and was preceded in death by his brother and a sister along with another sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at noon in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The Rev. Robert Baker will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Virginia Napieralski
Virginia Napieralski, 92, of Elgin, formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003 in her home. She was born May 29, 1910 in Chicago, the daughter of Anna and Joseph Januchowski. She had been a resident of Chicago for most of her life and had been a resident of Elgin since 1982. She had been employed as chief telephone operator at Republic Steel Co. before retiring. She will be remembered for her volunteer work at St. Thomas More Parish, Provena St. Joseph Hospital and the Elgin Day Care Center.
Surviving are her daughter, Ursula (Edward) Sieracki of Elgin, grandchildren, Carole Sieracki, Ann (Jeff) Sittig, Edward (Susan) Sieracki Jr. and Jean Bonkoske, great grandchildren Katherine, Madeline, Margret, Ben and William and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Napieralski, sister Pearl Lesniewski and brother Joseph Januchowski.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin for Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Plesa officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Calument City. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois or St. Thomas More School.
Randall R. Penrod
Randall R. Penrod, 45, of West Dundee passed away Sunday, April 6. He was born November 15, 1957 in Sycamore, the son of Vernie and Lora Lee Edwards Penrod. He grew up in Burlington and had been a resident of West Dundee for the past ten years. He had been employed in the construction trades.
Surviving are his wife, Christine, step son, Erik Gilley, mother, Lora Lee Penrod of Huntley, three brothers, Denny (RaeAnn) Penrod of Elgin, Gary (Kimberly) Penrod of Huntley and Rodney (Catherine) Penrod of Elgin, one sister, Marla Penrod (Don Banke) of Roscoe, eight nieces and nephews.
