George W. Bauman
George W. Bauman, 75, of Elgin passed away Friday, April 11, 2003 in his home. He was born July 8, 1927 in Chicago, IL and was the son of George A. and Helen S. (Jensen) Bauman. George was a Veteran, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Northwestern University with a BS in civil engineering, and had worked for Quaker Oats as a structural engineer for 27 years prior to his retirement. Member of the Christ the Lord Lutheran Church of Elgin, and served on many committees. Member of the John Evans Club at Northwestern University. Volunteer with the Elgin Symphony.
Survivors include one son, G. Marc (Karen) Bauman of Northbrook, IL, granddaughters Laura, Katharine, Grace and Christine and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his parents and wife Ruth Bauman in 2001.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Elgin with Rev. Steve Srock officiating. Burial will be private in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Wednesday in the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Douglas Martin Buehler
Douglas Martin Buehler, 55, of Elgin passed away Saturday in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. He was born October 7, 1947 in Elgin and was the son of Elmer and Helen (Young) Buehler. Douglas was a graduate of Larkin High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include two children, Jennifer (Timothy) Nichols of Marengo, IL and Jonathan (Emily) Beuhler of Arizona, two grandchildren, Cody and Kaleb Nichols and his brother, Carl (Rebecca) Beuhler of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Dr. Sung-Ja Lee Moon officiating. Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Darrel L. Olson, Sr.
Darrel L. Olson, Sr., 63, of Elgin, passed away Sunday in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born December 6, 1939 in Medford, WI and was the son of John and Mildred (Sjurseth) Olson. Darrel had worked at the Elgin Metal Casket Company and Williams Manufacturing Co. for many years prior to his retirement. Darrel was devoted to his family and will be missed by all who knew him. Member of Zion Lutheran Church of Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, Anita of Elgin, whom he married on September 8, 1962, two children, Lee (Susan) of Sleepy Hollow, IL and Steven (Jodi) of Elgin, three grandchildren, Katie, Tim and Justine, two sisters, Carol (Don) Imhoff of Crystal Lake, IL and Janice (John) Didlinger of Compton, IL and many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Olson Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, c/o Dialysis Center, Elgin.

Cathy D. Rahn-Nuezil
Cathy D. Rahn-Nuezil, 39, of Elgin passed away Sunday, April 13, 2003 in her home. She was born June 13, 1963 in Elgin and was the daughter of Louis and Beverly Rahn (Cavitt).
Survivors include her husband Donald Nuezil; two sons, Levon and Lucas Rahn; two brothers, Chuck (Kim) Rahn of Palatine, IL and Dave Rahn of Bartlett, IL; her mother Beverly Cavitt and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Louis and step father Gene Cavitt.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene (Rt. 58 and Berner Rd.) Elgin, with the Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the time of services only. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the church. Arrangements were made by the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Ernest O. Reber
Ernest O. Reber, 90, of Peoria, formerly of Elgin, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Lutheran Home, Peoria. He was born November 18, 1912 in Elgin, the son of Gottlob and Ricka Erkert Reber. He married Helen D. Schmidt, who preceded him in April of 1983. He later married Mary Ann Wiegand Stahl on December 8, 1984 in Peoria. He was the owner of Reber Appliances, Sales and Service in Elgin for more than 35 years before retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann, daughter Joyce D. (Andre) Krogsrud of St. Charles, step daughter Regina (Michael) Nena of Peoria, step son Alan Stahl of Peoria, six step grandchildren and one step great grandchild, two sisters, Rose Reber of Elgin and Carolyn Levy of Francisville, IN and one brother, Fred Reber of Barrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Helen, three brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 2:15 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Peoria or Concordia School, Peoria.

Matthew Adam Trullinger
Matthew Adam Trullinger, 21, of Rockford, formerly of Elgin, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003 at the scene of a car and train accident. Matt was born May 13, 1981 in Hoffman Estates, IL and was the son of Douglas and Sharon Trullinger of Belvidere.
Survivors include his parents, wife Jennifer, two sons Hunter and Brandon, also a step daughter Courtney, two brothers, Steven and Kevin, both of Belvidere, his grandparents, Floyd and Pat Adams of Evansville, IN and Howard and Leah Trullinger of Eagleville, MO and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandmother Mildred Trullinger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. John Bojorkman of Grace Baptist Church in Carpentersville, IL officiating. Burial will be in South Elgin cemetery, South Elgin, IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Gilbert Carlson
Gilbert Carlson, 78, of Iron Mountain, MI, formerly of Hanover Park, IL, died Tuesday, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at his home. He was born on July 14, 1925 in Iron Mountain, MI, the son of the late Carl G. and Ethel (Peterson) Carlson.
Gilbert graduated from Iron Mountain High School and Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a former science teacher, before going to work for the Federal Government, retiring in 1979. Gil served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the National Association of retired Federal Employees, where he was a past president, vice-president, and board member. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, where on November 27, 1952, he married Loris Richards. Gil was also an avid reader, and he had an interest in geology and he enjoyed fishing.
Gil is survived by his wife, Loris; three sons, Gary (Margie) of Appleton, Mark (Lori) of Fort Collins, CO, and Michael (Tina) of Iron Mountain; two brothers, Clarence of Quinnesec, and Carl R. of Iron Mountain; three sisters, June Guenther of Bradenton, FL, Mae Chartier of Kingsford, and Betty (John) Dahlgren of Iron Mountain; ten grandchildren, Scott, Jonathan, Daniel, Stephanie, Samuel, Celia, Benjamin, Ronnie, Jack, and Rebecca; and many nieces and nephews.
Gilbert is now reunited in heaven with his son, Jeffrey, who died in 1998. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Albert.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Rev. David Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit. Notes of sympathy can be sent to: tondinfuneralhome@hotmail.com. The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elizabeth Marie Jacobs
Elizabeth Marie Jacobs, 83, of Elgin died Sunday, April 11, 2004.
Elizabeth was a proud, lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bert Fehn; her parents, George M. and Anna (Warner) Fehn, all of Elgin.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband, George W. of 63 years; three children, Douglas of Athens, GA, Annette (Norman) Diamond of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Robert (Susan) Jacobs, also of Athens; 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, Friday, April 16, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery. Fr. Joe Kulak officiating. For further information please contact (847)741-1400.

George F. King
George F. King, 81, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born April 27, 1922 in Northfield, Vermont, the son of Alfred and Margaret King. He had been a resident of Elgin for the past 57 years and had been employed by Geister Brothers Lumber for many years before retiring in 1984. He was a Veteran of W.W.II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Elder King, whom he married in June of 1946; a daughter, Carol (Jeff) Sherman; three grandchildren, Scott, Todd, and Lauren; one sister, Gertrude La Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary King in 1986; a daughter in infancy; a sister, Beatrice LaFave; three brothers, Edward, Francis, and Richard King.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Laurence Church Renovation Fund or the charity of one's choice.

Charles "Charlie" W. Lichthardt
Charles "Charlie" W. Lichthardt, 46, of South Elgin, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004 in his home. He was born September 9, 1957 in St. Charles, IL the son of Clarence "Bill" and Mildred Lichthardt.
Charlie is survived by his mother; a sister, Karen Lichthardt of Oglesby, IL and a nephew, Bill Politz.
He was preceded in death by his father; his fiance, Debbie Walton; and a sister, Joan Politz.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Visitation will be at the time of services only. Burial will be private.

Daniel N. Losselyong
Daniel N, Losselyong, age 68, of St. Charles, IL died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at his home. He was born September 21, 1935 in Appleton, WI, the son of Nicholas and Theresa Losselyong. Daniel was a member of St. Patrick Church in St. Charles and had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; a daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Ryan of St. Charles; four brothers, Jerry (Elaena) of Menasha, WI, Gene (Kathy) of Menasha, WI, Karl (Delores) of Neenah, WI and Don (Vivian) of Appleton, WI; a sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Nemacheck of Menomonee Falls, WI; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, Nolan and Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Patrick Crane Road Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles. Interment is private. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association Northeastern Service Area, 1749 S. Charles Robert McCall
Charles Robert McCall was born June 1, 1924 in Chicago to Charles Elmer and Josephine (nee McGovern) McCall. He died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Alden of Long Grove Healthcare Center.
Mr. McCall was the Controller of the Chicago Housing Authority for 22 years before he retired in 1986. He had also been assistant treasurer for General Finance and Vice president of First Mortgage Investors. Charles received a BA degree from St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Bellau Wood.
Charles was an active member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church participating in Holy Name Society as an officer, Care & Outreach Board, CCD and RCIA Teacher, Stewardship Committee, Eucharistic Minister and PADS. He was an avid golfer and participated in the Our Lady of the Wayside Men's Golf League where he also served as an officer.
His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ella T. (nee Connelly) whom he married October 28, 1950; his children, Michael McCall of Arlington Heights, Ellen (Gary) Berg of Bartlett, Eileen (James) Martin of Bartlett, Mary Beth (Frank) Howard of Northbrook and Jo Anne (Jerry) Heinz of Elgin; his 14 grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Berg, Rachel (Pat) Lewis, Jessica (Jeff) Drake, Jeremy (Erica) Martin, Katie (Chad) Simonsen, Eddie (Carrie) Howard, Shannon (Neal) Mejdrich, Jerad Berg, Kristin and Lauren Howard, Caitlyn Martin, Jennifer, Megan and Charles Joseph "CJ" Heinz; his eight great grandchildren, Kelsea, Courtney and Macie Berg, Matthew and Nathan Simonsen, Hannah Martin, Dylan Mejdrich and Will Drake; his sister, Marion Leon; brother, John (Beverly) McCall; and his brother-in-law, Joseph (Lorraine) Connelly.
Prayers will be held at 9:45 AM Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:30 AM. Visitation Friday from 3 to 9 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be at All Saints cemetery.
