Natalie M. Flores
Natalie M. Flores, 71, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born December 5, 1931 in Parsons, KS the daughter of Joseph and Marie Juarez Moreno. She had been a resident of Elgin for over 50 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Juan) Marquez of South Elgin and Carrie Flores of San Jose, CA, one son, Paul Flores of Orangevale, CA, two grandchildren, Gregory and Jonathon Marquez, one brother, John Moreno, four sisters, Lupe (Ray) Edwards, Josephine Moreno, Delorez (Rodrigo) Garcia and Helen Shrum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter Flores and two brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 3 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Anderson Animal Shelter, South Elgin.

Nicholas L. Gray
Nicholas L. Gray, 22, of Sycamore, IL, formerly of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2003. He was born July 23, 1980 in Elgin and was the son of Walter and Deborah (Reinert) Gray.
Survivors include his mother, Deborah Bramer of Elgin, two sisters, Nichole Gray and Katrina Patrick, his fiancee, Patricia Wilkins, maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Barbara Reinert of Port St. Lucie, FL, paternal grandmother, Martha Guyton of Amory, MS and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Elgin and Mississippi areas.
preceded in death by his father, Walter "Butch" Gray and his brother, James Michael Gray in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

RUTH I. HALL
RUTH I. HALL, 95 of Genoa, former resident of Elgin for 20 years, died Wed., April 16, 2003 at the Dekalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 13, 1908 in Genoa. The daughter of Ephraim and Dora A. (Potts) Hall.
Ruth was a graduate of the Sycamore High School, Class of 1926. She attended Elgin Business College and then worked in the office at the Highway Department. She then graduated from the Grant Hospital Nursing School, receiving her Registered Nurses Degree. she went into the U.S. Army as a RN, serving during WW II and the Korean Conflict, serving her country for 20 years. After her discharge, she worked as a RN at Sherman Hospital in Elgin for 8 years.
Ruth loved to travel and help children read. She volunteered her time at local schools and nursing homes. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sycamore.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, George Rollins of Sycamore; one sister-in-law, Avis Hall of CA; 9 nieces and nephews, Richard (Betty) Hall, Doris (Sherman) Bolander, Marion (Orrin) Vandeburg and Evelyn Hall all of Sycamore, Dorothy Maze of OK, Marvin (Roberta) Hall of Dekalb, Beulah (Marvin) Ecklund of CA, Roy (Ann) Hall of IN, and Judy Mitchell of Dekalb; many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, George, Franklin, Truman and David; 3 sisters, Marjorie, Eldora and Alberta.
Her funeral service will be Sat., April 19 at 11:00AM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with Rev. Bill Landis and Rev. Nancy Weingartner officiating. Burial will be at the Genoa cemetery, with full military rites recited.
Visitation will be Sat. from 10:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

William H. "Bill" Baier
William H. "Bill" Baier, 83, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born November 3, 1920 in Harvard, IL, the son of Fred and Anne Quinn Baier. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Woodstock. He was in the hatchery business with his brother Jerry. He was a Veteran of W.W.II., serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 until his honorable discharge in April 20, 1946. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. After returning to his family, he became a judge at the Illinois Harness Race Association where he served for 38 years. He had been a resident of Elgin for the past 65 years.
He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Betty, whom he married January 24, 1942 and had 62 wonderful years together; two daughters, Sue (Perry) Auld of Rome, WI and Donna (Marty) Schock of Elgin; one son, Gerry (Nora) Baier of Agoura, CA; six grandchildren, Angela Leigh, Julie Marie, and Scott Anthony Baier; Brett Christopher Auld, Matthew Lee (Angela) Schock and Jason William (Soyeon) Schock; one great-grandson, Brandon William Hull.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Murphy; two brothers, Jerry and Don Baier; sister-in-law, Helen Baier of Elgin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Geoffrey Wirth officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. Memorials may be given to St. Thomas More Catholic Church or Provena St. Joseph Hospital.

Robert A. Berke
Robert A. Berke, 30, of East Dundee died Saturday, April 17, 2004. He was born in Elgin on June 20, 1973. Bob was a life long resident of the Dundee area. He worked in the construction field as well as being a great cook. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee. Bob was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce (nee Brockner) Berke of East Dundee; his brothers, Steve (Donna) of East Dundee, Tom (Lori) of Elgin and Jim (Heidi) of Lincolnwood, IL; his sisters, Margo (Don Boe) Berke of Edgerton, WI and Karla Berke of East Dundee. In addition to many nieces, nephews and friends, Bob is also survived by his companion, Gina Rose and her children, Josh, Tyler and Zach of Algonquin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Neal; and a sister, Paula in infancy.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee with Rev. Eun Hye Choi, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Wednesday in church from 10 AM until time of service. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee.

Ginger M. Golden
Ginger M. Golden, 56, of Algonquin, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Chicago on May 24, 1947. She was the daughter of Thomas and Sophie (nee Sowinski) Dorociak.
Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James J. Golden and a brother, Thomas (Carol) Dorociak of FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jacqueline.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee to St. Catherine Of Siena Church, West Dundee for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 430 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60611.

Shirley M. Noelle
Shirley M. Noelle, 82, of Elgin passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005. She was born on March 16, 1923 in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of Frederick and Hermine (Schmidt) Noelle. Shirley had worked at the Bowes Health Center, and then Bowes Retirement Center for many years, and retiring to live there also.
Survivors include her brother, Wayne (Carol Ann) Noelle of WI; her sister-in-law, Virginia Noelle of Huntley, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Fred C. Noelle Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private in Ridgewood cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of services in the funeral home.

Carol Ann Rapp
Carol Ann Rapp, age 70, of Union, died on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Rockford, the daughter of Garland Lee Alsbury Sr. and Edith Olive Pridemore Huff.
She had been employed by Master Mold Products of Elgin for over 30 years and had been there since the company opened.
Survivors include her four children, Donna Daum of Pecatonica, IL, James (Leslie) Rapp of Pecatonica, IL, Terry (Jane) Rapp of Gilberts, IL and Docia (Carter) Poplin of Union; ten grandchildren, Garrett, Travis, Beth, Lacy, Brandon, Joshua, Cory, Shannon, Brittany and Colton; two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Cody; three sisters, Donna (Jack) Bell, Vicki (Marvin) Dums and Beverly (Redmond) King; and two brothers, Delbert (LaRene) Alsbury and Clinton (Judy) Alsbury.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Garland Lee "Butch" Alsbury; and a sister, Marsha Alsbury.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo, IL 60152.
Visitation will continue from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Union cemetery.

David Edward Steeves, Jr.
Visitation for David Edward Steeves Jr, 19, will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 3 to 8 PM, followed by a bilingual memorial service (Korean and English), at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, IL, 60123. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 AM in the St. John's Lutheran Church, 101 N. Spring St., Elgin, IL, 60120. Burial will follow in River Valley Memorial Gardens, 14N689 Rt. 31, West Dundee, IL.
He was born on March 6, 1986 in Londbranch, NJ and the son of David and Ok Kyong Steeves Sr. The family moved to Elgin in 1992, where he died unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2005. David was a graduate of Elgin High School in 2004 and was currently a student at Elgin Community College. He is dearly missed.
David is the beloved son of David and Ok Kyong Steeves of Elgin; brother to Lisa Steeves of Batavia and Anna Steeves of Elgin; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Memorials are appreciated to the David Steeves Trust Fund at any Harris Bank.

Lucille M. Behm
Lucille M. Behm, 80, of St. Charles, passed away April 17, 2001 in Ingleside, Ill.
She was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Linden, Wis., the daughter of Thomas and Bessie Stacy Heffron.
She was a past member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Elgin.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice (Stan) Biel of Geneva; a son, Gregory (Karen) Behm of Ingleside; six grandchildren; and a brother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday in the Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Northeastern Illinois Hospice.

Donald A. DePew
Donald A. DePew, 81, of South Elgin passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 29, 1919 in Elgin the son of Arthur and Eva Beacon DePew.
He had been in the Elgin area all of his life. He was employed by Howell Manufacturing, St. Charles for 35 years and then Groh Camping in Elgin for 20 years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and helped liberate Beuchenwald.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin. He enjoyed woodworking and also was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife; Nora Allen DePew whom he married on July 3, 1942; three daughters, Kathleen (Fredrick) Kramer of South Elgin, Maribeth (Dean) Sloggett of Batavia and Faith (Russell) Patterson of South Elgin; a son, Allen (Charlene) DePew of Hayward, WI; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Bruckner of Oklahoma; a brother, Marvin (Marian) DePew of Aurora, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Martin Balzer officiating. Burial will be in South Elgin cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
