Clara Jensen
Clara Jensen, 94 of Montello, WI,formerly of the Bartlett area, passed away Friday, April 5, 2002.
She was the daughter of Adolph and Dorothea Plote of North Plato.
She had nine children. Survivorsinclude one sister, Ida Wesemann, of Pingree Grove, IL; four sons; two daughters; many grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, and a daughter .
Burial was at Bartlett, IL
Catherine Keenon "Kay" (nee Zick)
Catherine "Kay" Keenon (nee Zick), 78, a three year resident of Burlington, IL, formerly a 30 resident of West Chicago, died Friday, April 19, 2002.
She was born April 2, 1924 in Champaign, IL.
She was Past President of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. James Church in Maywood. She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie leader in Maywood. Kay was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas at St. Mary Church in West Chicago and she was Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Brody Post in Chicago, IL.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Ronald) Carlson of Orland Park, IL, Charles (Suzanne) Keenon of Schaumburg, IL, Paul (Jill) Keenon of Wheaton, IL, Judith (Robert) Krajecki of Kaneville, IL, Kevin (Kimberly) Keenon of Geneva, IL, Kenneth (Melanie) Keenon of St. Charles, IL and Joseph (Tracy) Keenon of Burlington, IL; 24 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jerry"; and a son, Terrance.
Visitation Monday 2 to 8 PM at Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, 820 Pine St, West Chicago (Rt. 59 and Pine), Funeral Tuesday, 9:30 AM to St. Mary Church for Mass at 10 AM. Interment Glen Oak cemetery.

Florence Otahal, R.N.
Florence Otahal, R.N., 79, of East Dundee passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at her home. She was cared for during that time by her family and friends. Her death was dignified and peaceful. Mrs. Otahal was born in Chicago on August 7, 1922. She was the daughter of George and Florence Hockel. The family moved to Lyons, IL where she spent her childhood. Mrs. Otahal attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Elgin and was a 1944 graduate. She worked hard all her life as a devoted wife, mother and R.N. During her nursing career, she worked at St. Joseph Hospital OB/GYN floor for over 20 years. She also worked for three area doctors. She was very well known and often people would say to her, "You helped deliver my baby". Up until her death, she was still involved with Provena St. Joseph Alumni. Her name and picture hang in the entryway of the hospital in Elgin. Mrs. Otahal has been a member of the St. Catherine Of Siena Church for over 50 years. She was a proud member of the Resurrection Funeral Choir.
She is survived by three children, Tom (Jeri) Otahal of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pastor Gerry (Linda) Otahal of Huntingburg, Indiana and Lori (Steve) Higa of South Elgin; five grandchildren, Tom Otahal of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jessica Bryant of East Dundee, Joan (Devin) Etheridge of Chervils, Oregon, Harmony and Bethany Otahal, both of Evansville, Indiana; a brother, George (Joyce) Hockel of Hanwood, Wisconsin; a sister, Alice Kopkowski of Stickney, IL; many nieces, nephews and friends across our beautiful country also survive, including her beloved Dachshund, Tina.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph F. Otahal. He passed away on September 4, 1996. They married
on October 13, 1945.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 22, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Catherine Of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6:00 P.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Monday in church from 9:00 A.M. until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Provena Hospice, 77 N. Airlite St., Elgin, IL 60123.
Barbara J. Behm
Barbara J. Behm, 59, of South Elgin, passed away April 17, 2005 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born on July 18, 1945 in Flint, MI and was the daughter of Grover and Ruth Ann Taber. Barb had worked for Re/Max Professionals West for many years.
Member of and past President of the Ladies Elk's Club of Elgin. Member of the Valley View Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Gerald Behm, Sr. of South Elgin; five children, Mark (Jonine) Behm, Gerald (Sharlene) Behm, Jr., Susan Behm, Steven Behm, and Sharon (James) McDonough; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Gray and Pamela (David) Horning; a brother, Darrell (Linda) Taber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2005, 1:00 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will follow in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
Robert L. (Lefty) Funk
Robert L. (Lefty) Funk, age 80, of Town of Harris, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2005 at Berlin Memorial Hospital, Berlin following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 17, 1925 in Elgin, IL. Robert married
Charlene Allison on October 4, 1946 in Elgin, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene; four children, Larry Funk, Elgin, IL, Charles Funk, Harrisville, Nancy Funk, Berlin, William (Chris) Funk, Huntley, IL; three grandchildren, Stella Funk, Ashley Thelen, Dana Sears; one great grandchild, Aidan Thelen; sister, Alice (Laniere) Stevens, Montello; brother, Gene Funk, Elgin, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Rev. Robert Fisher officiating. David L. Jones
David L. Jones, 57, of Dundee died Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home. He was born September 14, 1947 in Elgin the son of David W. and Delores (Schumacher) Jones.
Surviving are two daughters, Nina Jones of Tucson, AZ and Nicolette Jones of San Diego, CA; his sister, Vicki (Don) Hay of Polo, IL; a niece, Christine Stephens of Aurora; a nephew, Mackenzie Hay of Rockford; his mother, Delores J. Michelini; and his step-father, John Michelini of Dundee.
He was preceded in death by his father David W. Jones in 1980; and a nephew, Gerry Hay.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., Dundee, IL. 60118. Rev. Harry A. Bartlett officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM, until the time of service. Interment will be private.

John J. Roder "Jack"
John J. Roder, 81, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in his home. He was born April 21, 1923 in Joliet, the son of Louis and Mary Alice Fox Roder. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1966 and was employed by Dartmoor Homes as a carpenter, before retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Marine Corp. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Pat, whom he married
on January 5, 1946; four children, Mary Lou Roder of Elgin, Michael Roder of Elgin, Jack (Bonnie) Roder of Elgin, Dan Roder of South Elgin; four grandchildren, Carrie (Craig) Goesel, Sheila (Jason) Provenzano, Matt (Samantha) and Elisha Roder; two great-grandchildren, Nina and Nathaniel; one sister, Geraldine (Bob) Peterson of Joliet; one brother, Thomas (Renee) Roder of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Sean Roder; one brother, Richard Roder; two sisters, Rita Nevin and Mary Alice Brehn.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 21 at 1:00 PM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph K. Kulak, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:15 PM, until the time of Mass in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Laurence Catholic Church Renovation Fund. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Reno Davis Sr.
Reno Davis Sr., 98, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Apostolic Christian Resthaven.
He was born April 17, 1903 in Burlington, the son of Albert and Nellie Hardy Davis.
He was a member of Park Manor Bible Chapel.
Survivors include two daughters,Florence (Freadom) Zimmerman of Elgin and Mildred (David) Zepson of Belvidere; a son, Reno (Lois) Davis Jr. of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence E.; a grandson; a sister; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin, the Rev. Don Legel officiating. Burial will be Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Manor Bible Chapel.
Dennis F. Shine
Dennis F. Shine, 58, of Johnsburg, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Vencor Hospital in Sycamore.
He was born July 4, 1942 in Elgin, the son of Frank J. and Bertha L. (Anderson) Shine.
On June 19, 1965, he married
Mary Ellen Rucker in Grosse Ile, Michigan. Raised in Elgin, he attended Michigan State University and received a B.S. Degree in Package Engineering. He later received a Master of Business Administration Degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Formerly an eight year resident of Huntington Beach, California, Dennis was a resident of Johnsburg since 1976. He was a long time employee of Nosco in Waukegan. He worked his entire career in the packaging industry. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in McHenry. Dennis adored his family and enjoyed taking part in family activities, such as watching sporting events of his children. He also enjoyed golf, boating, and beach activities.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Ellen; a son, Timothy (Lisa) Shine of Winfield; two daughters, Carolyn (Fiance, Bill Crosby) Shine of Alexandria, Virginia and Kathryn Shine, a student at Penn State University; grandchildren, Emma Kay, Julia Taylor and Sarah Kathryn Shine; his mother, Bertha Shine of Elgin; and a sister, Marilyn (Earl) Lamberton of Chaska, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at Ridgefield Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, 8505 Church St., Crystal Lake (take highway 14 West of Crystal Lake, turn right on Ridgefield Rd, one mile to stop sign, left two blocks). Friends may meet the family after the Memorial Service.
Memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Henry Tschappat
Henry Tschappat, 72, of Tucson AZ, died Monday, April 2, 2001 at home. At his request, there will be no memorial service.
He was born October 27, 1928 in Morth Muskegon, MI, the son of Henry H. Sr. and Alma Marie Tschappat.
Henry was particularly proud of being awarded Eagle Scout Rank in 1944. He was one of the youngest boys to achieve that rank in Michigan. He graduated from Mr. Pleasant High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army of Occupation, Vienna, Austria, from 1946 through 1948. He briefly attended Central Michigan University. After a stint working in Michigan oil fields he co-founded Rolf & Tschappat Construction Company. He worked for a year as a surveyor in Alaska Territory. He earned his bachelor degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO in 1954. Henry attended the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relation, University of Illinois, Urbana prior to becoming an instructor of Economics at Lake Forest College in Illinois.
He married
Betty Vellingo, August 4, 1956. The newlywed couple moved to Los Angeles where Henry attended graduate school in Anthropology and Sociology at University of California at Los Angeles.
He was hired as Chief Economist for Dayton, Ohio Metropolitan Community Studies, a Ford Foundation Grant program. He then accepted a position in urban planing for Lake County, OH. In that capacity, he helped develop the county's master plan for growth and development.
He began his plastics career with Elgin Molded Plastics Co., Elgin, IL, advancing to Vice President and General Manager. In addition to his industrial career, Henry taught Economics and Business as adjunct faculty at Elgin Community College. He served for six years as school board member for Elgin School District U46. As a board member, he was on the Citizens Advisory Committee which created School District 509 and guided the conversion of Elgin Junior College to Elgin Community College under the State Community College Act. Mr. Tschappat resigned from Elgin Community College in 1982 and moved to Ferris State College, Big Rapids, MI to implement establishment of one of the first Bachelor of Science Plastics Engineering Technology programs in the country. Under his auspices, the program grew five-fold and gained national and international recognition.
Mr. Tschappat was honored in 1993 by the International Society of Plastics Engineers, Inc., as International Plastics Educator of the Year.
He retired June 1993 as Professor of Plastics Engineering Technology and Director of the Plastics Program.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters, Melanie Marie Coleman of Portland, OR and Kathryn Denise Tschappat of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Andrew of Mt. Pleasant, MI and William Tschappat of Des Plaines, IL; and a sister, Ella Mora Pardike of Mt. Clemens, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
