Beulah Bernice Rider
Beulah Bernice Ridet, 81, of Carpentersville, died Monday, April 23, 2001 in her home.
She was born May 23, 1919, the daughter of William and Eule Trusty of Shawneetown, Ill.
She was a retired assembly worked for Searle Corp. in Des Plaines for 16 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Dolores (Harold) Couser of Elgin; three sons, John Edward (Alma) Rider of Apex, N.C., Bob (Debbie) Rider of Belvidere andDennis (Cathy) Rider of Harrisburg, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Tarrant of Adkin, Ill.; nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Bernice Rider; a grandson, Darrin Shawn Rider; a sister, Gertrude Edwards; and three brothers, Carl, Bill and Frank Trusty.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Rd., Cary. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 9 a.m., Wednesday until the time of services in the funeral home.

Harry E. Kluender
Harry E. Kluender, 84, of Neillsville, WI, formerly of Greenwood, WI and Elgin, died on Friday, April 20, 2001 in the Emergency Room at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.
He was born October 3, 1916 in Detroit, MI, the son of Harry V. and Elsie (nee Peters) Kluender.
The family moved to Elgin where Harry graduated from Elgin High School in 1934. On March 8, 1941 he was united in marriage to Eleanor L. Barnes in Elgin. They lived in Elgin and raised their family while Harry worked as a tool & die maker during WWII for the Rock Island Armory, as well as the Elgin National Watch Company. He later worked for McGraw Edison and Zenith Radio & Television Company. After his retirement in 1978, they moved to Greenwood where they purchased a small farm. His wife, Eleanor, died on June 25, 1997. He then moved to Neillsville, WI and resided at Whispering Pines Manor until the time of his death.
Harry made many friends while enjoying has favorite pastimes of fishing and hunting, and was also an avid member of the Issac Walton League of Elgin where he was a past president. He was also very appreciative and grateful for the friendships and kindness that the people of Greenwood showed to he and his wife during the years they lived there.
He will be sadly missed by two sons, Harry (Susan) of Deerfield, IL and David (Jenny) of Billerica, MA; one daughter, June (Jesse) Morales of Parsons, TN; five grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Bruns of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor; one son, Jim; and a brother, Robert.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at East Dundee Township cemetery in Dundee, IL with Rev. Thomas Nierman officiating.

Barbara Haeger Estes
Barbara Haeger Estes died on April 21, 2004 in Naples, Florida.
She was the daughter of the late Edmund H. and Vera (Betty) Haeger.
She was preceded by her husband, Joseph F. Estes and a grandson.
She was reared in Dundee, Illinois where she resided until wintering in Florida from 1973 onward.
She was educated at the Frances Shimer Girls School in Mt. Carroll, Illinois and at Iowa State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi woman's fraternity.
She was active in civic affairs in the Dundee Woman's Club, Sherman Hospital Auxiliary, Congregational Church Guild, the Garden Club of Barrington, all of which she served as President. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America. She was a member of the Naples Yacht Club and the Port Royal Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Victoria Heath of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Nicholas and wife Mimi of Macomb, Illinois; a daughter, Alexandra Zachrich and her husband Craig of Barrington Hills, Illinois; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John McQuillan and their three sons.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 27, 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, West Dundee, Illinois.
Gerald "Jerry" Herrmann
Gerald "Jerry" Herrman, 70, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of Hampshire, passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 21, in his home.
He was born April 27, 1933 in Burlington, the son of William and Evelyn (Reiser) Herrmann. Jerry was a 1951 graduate of Hampshire High School. He helped his father on the family dairy farm until serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Following service, Jerry began a long career in farm service, beginning with the Kane County FS. He served as sales manager of Stevenson FS in Freeport, general manger of the Grundy Co. FS in Yorkville, and then District Manager of Iowa Farm Services in Des Moines, IA. After his career in farm service he became president of Management Recruiters, Inc. of Davenport, IA until his sudden passing.
Mr. Herrmann was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf and was baptized and confirmed at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire.
Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (John) Eichert of FL; son, Chris Herrmann of KS; grandson, Brian Herrmann; sisters, Marilyn Warrington of Hampshire and Margaret (Ralph) Campbell of Rock City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Schmidt.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with Rosary at 3:15 a.m.
Private funeral services will be held on Monday at the funeral home with Mnsgr. William Clausen officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the St. Charles Borromeo cemetery.

Edna O. Homeier
Edna O. Homeier born November 27, 1904 in Palatine Township. The daughter of Fred and Louise Huenerberg Othmer.
Prior to moving into the Devonshire Retirement Home in 1988, in Hoffman Estates, she lived on a farm 58 years, on Roselle Road in Palatine Township.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Palatine, a member of the Women's Guild and a member of Palatine Home Bureau.
She is survived by her nephew, Leonard (Beverly) Rohde of Los Altos, CA; nieces, Margaret (Robert) Stade of Jefferson, WI and Delores (David) Nelson of Elgin, IL. She is also survived by her niece-in-law, Pat Othmer.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, of 55 years, Henry in 1988; her sisters, Selma (late Harvey) Tatge & Luella (late Arthur) Senne; a brother, Clarence (late Dorothy) Othmer; and a nephew, David Othmer.

Helen W. Ricketts
Helen W. Ricketts, 94, of Hilton Head Island, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the Carolina House of Hilton Head.
Helen was born November 16, 1909 in Mazon, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Rose Abrams Watts. She wasa teacher in Illinois and was married
to Lawrence Ricketts who passed away in 1996. She loved teaching and played the piano for her church as a youth. Mrs. Ricketts traveled extensively and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Richard) Jenkins of Hilton Head Island, SC; her son, James L. Ricketts of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Dana (Walter) Hawker of Alpharetta, GA, Richard P. (Maria) Jenkins of West Palm Beach, FL, and Craig Ricketts of Denver, CO; four great-grandchildren; and a niece, Vicki Unatin.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Swanson and a brother, Kelley Watts.

Betty J. Schmidt
Betty J. Schmidt, 76, of East Dundee died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Sherman Westcourt in Elgin. She was born in Naperville on June 11, 1927 the daughter of John and Mary (nee Stanski) Lungren. Betty was a 40 year resident of the Dundee area. She was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Brian D. (Catherine) Schmidt, DVM of Wilmington, IL. Mark of East Dundee and Sheila of Chicago; three grandchildren, Stefanie, Mark and Ana; her brother, Walter (Genevieve) Lundgren of East Dundee; and her sisters, Irene Hooyboer of Littleton, CO and Mary Collins of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 35 years, Edwin L. Schmidt, Jr. on August 4, 1987. They married
on July 10, 1952.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-6 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Private Burial will be in Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee. Memorials may be to American Cancer Society.
Irene M. Burton
Irene M. Burton, 95, of Elgin passed away on Thursday, April 21 at Rosewood Care Center. She was born on May 10, 1909 in Chicago and is the daughter of William and Lydia Lauter Kinsella.
She worked for Sears in the credit department for over 30 years. She has been a member of the Sherman Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years and a member of the Elgin Historical Society and the Senior Citizen Group in Elgin. She also enjoyed arts and craft and flea markets.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Margo) Burton, Jr. of CA and James (Janet) Burton of Elgin; two daughters, Denise (the late Galen) Knaak of Elgin and Suzanne (James) Wilbrandt of East Dundee; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Burton Sr.; a brother and a sister.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25 at 10:00 AM at Madison Funeral Home 305 Park St., Elgin. Burial will be at Mt. Hope cemetery in Elgin. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 until 7PM. Memorials to Vitas Hospice. Arrangements by Madison Funeral Home 847-741-1128.
Richard W. Husted
Richard W. Husted, of Hampshire, formerly of West Dundee, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. He was born May 30, 1920 on a farm in Greene County near Roodhouse, IL, the son of Lee and Ethel (Thompson) Husted.
Richard married
Isabel C. Sabatini on January 21, 1941 in Bowling Green, MO, and then served in the Army during World War II. Following the war, he completed law school and set up practice in Roodhouse. He successfully ran and won the office of State's Attorney in Greene County in 1952 and remained a practicing attorney for over fifty years. Dick and Isabel moved to West Dundee, where they resided for over forty years and he practiced law in the Elgin area.
Mr. Husted was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in West Dundee and of the American Legion Post #373 of Roodhouse. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to all and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Isabel; five children, Richard W. Husted of Tampa, FL, Lee (Barbara) Husted of Joliet, Brian (Jill) Husted of Hampshire, Isabel "Bunny" (Charles) Hughes of Park Ridge and Jack (Sue) Husted of Alexandria, AL; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rachel Ricks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Mark Husted in 1982; and a brother, Robert Lee Husted.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 29, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 845 W. Main St. (Rte. 72), West Dundee, with Fr. Richard Rosinski, officiating. Private burial of cremains will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery in Gilberts. A private Mass for family was held at Loyola Hospital Chapel in Maywood.
