Fred Hart Jr.
Fred Hart Jr., 81, of Carpentersville died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born on January 26, 1923 in Evanston, IL, the son of Fred and Lydia (nee Barrass) Hart Sr.
Fred was a 48 year resident of the Carpentersville area and a former 23 year employee of Commonwealth Edison. He was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Dundee, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Dundee VFW #2298, the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills American Legion and a very active member of the Dundee Township Senior Citizens Organization and 50 Plus Club.
He is survived by his son, Fred R. Hart; his daughter, Elizabeth "Bess" (Howard) Tuttle, both of Carpentersville; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and his sister, Dolores Parrish of Rock Hill, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Anna Mae Hart on June 3, 1996. They married
on September 22, 1943; and a son in infancy.
Funeral Serviceswill be on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee with the Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor officiating. Private burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to either the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church "LEGACY FUND".
Edna O. Homeier
Edna O. Homeier born November 27, 1904 in Palatine Township. The daughter of Fred and Louise Huenerberg Othmer.
Prior to moving into the Devonshire Retirement Home in 1988, in Hoffman Estates, she lived on a farm 58 years, on Roselle Road in Palatine Township.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Palatine, a member of the Women's Guild and a member of Palatine Home Bureau.
She is survived by her nephew, Leonard (Beverly) Rohde of Los Altos, CA; nieces, Margaret (Robert) Stade of Jefferson, WI and Delores (David) Nelson of Elgin, IL. She is also survived by her niece-in-law, Pat Othmer; her caregiver, Maria Williams; many great nieces and great nephews; and many great-great grand nieces and great-great grand nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, of 55 years, Henry in 1988; her sisters, Selma (late Harvey) Tatge & Luella (late Arthur) Senne; a brother, Clarence (late Dorothy) Othmer; and a nephew, David Othmer.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at St. John United Church of Christ in Palatine at Roselle and Algonquin Roads. Visitation is 9:30-10:30 at the church up to time of service. Memorials: to the church or charity of one's choice.

Robert C. "Red" Meuser
Robert C. "Red" Meuser, 93, of Union, IL died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center, Woodstock, IL. He was born on February 20, 1911 in Elgin, IL, the son of George L. and Sarah Dunning Meuser. On February 18, 1940, he married
Lorraine M. Rea. Robert was co-owner of Meuser and Noble Garage in Union from 1947 to 1993 when he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Union; two children, Robert J. (Jean) Meuser of Mountain Home, AR and Lynne (Jake) Sensor of Marengo; five grandchildren, Jay (Nikki) Meuser, Paul Meuser, Lorrie (George) Klann, Kerri (Randy) Heinberg and Edward Sensor; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Oliver L. Meuser; and a sister, Sylvia Lipsumb of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

David E. Russell
David E. Russell, 66, of South Elgin passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born January 11, 1938 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Verne and Mabel Green Russell. He had been a resident of the Elgin area for the past 30 years. He had been employed by Elgin Molded Plastics before retiring. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church of Elgin, was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader for 26 years and did volunteer at Elgin Senior Services.
Surviving are his wife, Jane S. Russell; a son, Kevin Russell of Kalamazoo, Mich; a granddaughter, Trisha; a sister, Virginia Butler of Michigan; a brother, Roy Russell of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 3 PM at Grace Methodist Church, Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the time of services in the church. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Gerald W. Lawyer
Gerald W. Lawyer, 41, of Elgin died Saturday, April 23, 2005 as the result of an industrial accident. Gerald was born in Elgin January 10, 1964, the son of Gerald and Dorothy (Moore) Lawyer. He worked as a machine mechanic for Suburban Plastics of Elgin. He was married
to Dianne Barnes.
Surviving are his wife and parents of Elgin; a step son, Joseph Shoultz on Montgomery, IL; a step daughter, Bobbie (Eric) Malapanes of Mt. Prospect, IL; two sisters, Vicki Schmidt of Harrietta, MI and Sheryl (Roger) Campbell of Elgin; a granddaughter, Drew Elizabeth Malapanes; and two nephews, Rory and David Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, Elgin. Rev. Thomas O'Connor will officiate. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rita Sisti
Rita Sisti, 65, of Elgin, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin for 44 years. She was retired from Chicago Rawhide, after 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, travel, and her children.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving husband, James of 44 years; three children, Monti Sisti of Elgin, Kimberlee Giagnoni of West Dundee, Dianna (Sam) Frazier of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Rachel Mauthe, Sarah Davin, Alexandra Sisti, Julia Frazier, Samuel Frazier, and Brandon Frazier; four sisters; and a brother, all of Italy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope cemetery.
Gladys Carter
Gladys Carter, 80, of Elgin passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Elgin.
She was born December 10, 1920 in Millington, TN, the daughter of Otis and Ressy (Price) Cunningham.
On October 25, 1949 she married
Alfred Carter in Chicago. Gladys was a seamstress in the clothing industry until she and Alfred began a family at which time she became a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Alfred Carter of Elgin; children, Dale Carter of Rockford, Kendall Carter of Elgin, Darlene Jones of Florida, Diane (Alan Longest) Carter of Elgin, Donald R. Carter of Rockford; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 28, 2001. at O'Connor-Homeier Funeral Home with Pastor Rouse officiating. Internment will be at Lakewood cemetery.
Visitation well be 5 PM to 9PM, Friday, April 27 at the O'Connor-Homeier Funeral Home at 364 E. Division St., Elgin, and will continue at 10 AM, Saturday until time of services.
Joseph P. Fabrizius
Joseph P. Fabrizius, age 69, of Maple Park, IL passed away at Loyola University Hospital in Chicago on Wednesday, April 25, 2001, after a valiant fight following a tragic accident.
Though his body gave up, his spirit never did, and he is now free to race through the heavens.

Raymond Meinke
Raymond Meinke, 84, of Union, IL died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Harmony, IL.
The son of John and Emma Brasch Meinke, on June 1, 1940, in Union, he married
Erna Thurow who died April 15, 1987, and on September 20, 1989, in Union, he married
Helen Bloedorn Kunde.
He was head meat cutter for Gromer's Supermarket in Elgin and retired in 1980 after 40 years of service. A former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Huntley (for 48 years) and St. John's Lutheran Church in Union (for 18 years). A member of the Belvidere Moose, member of the Algamated Meat Cutters Union Local 189 (for 40 years).
Surviving are: his wife, Helen, of Union; step-sons, Gale (Bonnie) Kunde of Belvidere and Larry Kunde of Marengo; step-daughters: Bonnie Lamz and Ginny (Ed) Sytsma, all of Union; two sisters: Alvina Leetzow and Lois Swanson, both of Bradenton, FL; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edwin, and a sister, Dorothy.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, April 27, at the MARENGO-UNION FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo, and from 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6621 Main St., Union, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Pastor Norm Meyer officiating.
Interment will be in Huntley cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to St. John's Lutheran Church.
Lewis Wendt
Lewis Wendt, 64, of Carpentersville, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in Kindred Hospital, Sycamore.
He was born in Elgin on June 29, 1936, the son of Walter A. and Mabel J. (Schuld) Wendt.
He was a lifelong resident of the area. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp. in Vietnam in 1968. He was a U.S. Air Force Reserve retired veteran. He was a member of the Teamster Local #330 of Elgin; a member of Faith Lutheran Church; a life member of VFW Dundee Post #2298; member of the Carpentersville Lions Club and also a member of the Elgin American Legion Post #57.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne "Gigi", whom he married
on May 26, 1996; a son, Walter (Leisa) of Union; four daughters, Kim (the late Dan) Lonscar of Ingleside, Robin (Roger) Butler of Geneva, Johanna (William) Vincent of Carpentersville and Ti'ara (Bruce) Rozell of Elgin; six step-children, Catherine McClellen of Greenlake, Wis., William (Sandra) of Elburn, Robert of Elgin, James (Brenda) of Silver Springs, Fla., David of San Gabriel of California, and Brian (Patricia) of Carpentersville; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Rudy (Donna) of Genoa; a sister, Doris (Ernest) Dziewior of East Dundee; and his mother, Mabel Wendt of Carpentersville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dixie J. Wendt; a brother, Robert; his father, Walter; a sister-in-law, Shirley; and a grandson, Brian Butler.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28 in the Faith Lutheran Church of Carpentersville, the Rev. Bruce Meissner officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carpentersville Lions Club.
Ella M. Banwart
Ella M. Banwart, 97, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home.
She was born March 1, 1904 in West Bend, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary Miller Banwart.
She had been a resident of Elgin since 1925 and had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Co. before retiring. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Elgin.
Surviving are many nieces andnephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Banwart; and six brothers, Michael, Andy, Guy, Leo, Sam and William Banwart.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday in the Apostolic Christian Church, 2740 W. Highland Ave., Elgin, with the church in charge of services. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be given to the Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home.
