Robert T. Mattoon
Robert T. Mattoon, 71, of Dundee passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital. He was born April 4, 1933 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Gerald and Florence Mattoon. He had been a resident of Hanover Park for 23 years and a resident of Dundee for the past 20 years. He was a Design Engineer for Motorola before retiring. He was a veteran having served in the Military Police and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian; four daughters, Karen (Kevin) Kinsella of Ione, Washington, Laura (David) Richert of Poplar Grove, IL, Elizabeth (Skip) Foulk of Elgin and Allison (Shane) Borodziuk of Elgin; nine sons, Thomas (Catherine) Voegeli of Hampshire, IL, Robert (Karen) Mattoon of Sleepy Hollow, IL, Charles (Rhoda) Voegeli of Bartlett, IL, Timothy (Mary) Mattoon of McHenry, IL, Douglas (Christine) Voegeli of Hendersonville, NC, David (Christine) Mattoon of Elgin, John (Catherine) Mattoon of McHenry, IL, Thomas (Jacqueline) Mattoon of Rockford, IL and James (Sara) Voegeli of Lake in the Hills, IL; 27 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Maureen, Katelyn, Nora, Alex, Nicole, Patrick, Kamus, Ian, Kelsey, Brendan, Paige and Kyle Mattoon, Lea, Renee, Marie and Wilhemina Voegeli, Catherine Holmes, Dana, Doreen, Jennifer, Timothy and Daniel Richert, Andrew, Nicholas and Edward Foulk; a sister, Joyce (Edward) Ranieri of Hinsdale, IL; and a brother, Gerald (Karen) Mattoon of Nicholasville, KY.
preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Angela Marie Mattoon.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Burial will be private. Visitation will be in Laird Funeral Home, !20 South Third St., (corner of Third and Oregon St's), West Dundee on Monday from 4 to 8 PM and then on Tuesday at the church from 9 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Huntington's Disease Society of America, Illinois Chapter, P.O. Box 8383, Rolling Meadows, IL, 60008.

Arthur W. Waterman
Arthur W. Waterman, 88, 0f Elgin, IL passed away Thursday, April 28, 2004 in the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin. He was born on May 25, 1915 in Bartlett, IL and was the son of Ben and Emma Krunnfusz Waterman. Resident of Elgin for most of his life. Art had owned and operated an Advertising and Promotions company prior to his retirement.
Member of the Coroner Stone Methodist Church of Plato Center, member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #799 and member of the Elgin Golden "K" Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his sister, Ariel D. Bruhn of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Carolyn.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee, with Rev. Meyers officiating.

Bobby R. Cash
Bobby R. Cash, 65, of Elgin passed away Saturday, April 30, 2005 in his home. He was born September 10, 1939 in Goldsboro, North Carolina and was the son of Leslie and Ethel Civils. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1973.
Survived by his wife, Wilma; two sons, Robert Bratz of Belvidere, IL and Billy Civils of North Carolina; one daughter, Tammy of North Carolina; three step-daughters, Marcelle Coburn of TN, Tonyia Flores of Elgin and Cynthia Cole of Geneva, IL; two step-sons, Jerry (Janet) Cole of TN and Robin (Michelle) Cole of Elgin; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Maybelle (Wesley) Hawkins of North Carolina; one brother, Linwood (Etna Jean) Civils of Alabama.
Preceded by his parents and one brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Laird Funeral Home with Rev. Jorge Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

Lydia W. Dornbush
Lydia W. Dornbush, 99, of Hampshire, formerly of Wonder Lake, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Manor Care in Elgin, two days short of her 100th birthday. She was born May 2, 1905 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, the daughter of David and Louise (Wittwer) Kline. Lydia married Edwin F. Dornbush on March 22, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana. Mrs. Dornbush was a longtime registered nurse having graduated in 1925 from the Victory Memorial School of Nursing in Waukegan. Her career spanned over 40 years beginning at Victory Memorial where she was in charge of the operating room. Following a break to raise her family, she worked for Northwest Community Hospital, in private practice for Dr. James Harris in Richmond, and at the Sunset Manor and Valley Hi Nursing Centers in Woodstock.
Lydia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose Christian faith was an example to her family. She was a charter member of the Wonder Lake Bible Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Joan Allen of Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Robert Dornbush of Albion, MI, Kathy Westgate of Newaygo, MI, Dana Benton of Grand Rapids, MN, Shelly Wettstein of Grant, MI, Lori Peters of McHenry, Sharon Suddeth, Neener Allen and Jill Allen all of Hampshire, and Julie Carr of Lake Zurich; 24 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; and her 104 year old sister, Faith Reider of Madison, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin in 1966; her son, Clayton Dornbush in 1999; and her grandson, David Allen in 1988.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials in her name may be directed to the family. For information call 847-683-2711.

Sanjuana Rios
Sanjuana Rios, 51, of Elgin passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 in her home. She was born April 29, 1954 in Raymondville, Texas. She was the daughter of Florencio and Maria Jiminez.
Survivors include her mother, Maria Vitela of Elgin; sons, William (Rebecca) Rios of Huntley, Homero Reyes of Elgin and Bobby (Kristen) Gutierrez of Palatine; sisters, Paulita Salinas and Petra (Jose) Ontiveros; brothers, Florencio and James Jiminez; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday form 4 to 8 PM in the chapel.

Hermine Margaret Faber
Hermine Margaret Faber, 77, of rural Burlington, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at the Alderwood Health Care Center in South Elgin after suffering a series of strokes.
She was born July 22, 1923, the second of five children, the daughter ofWilliam and Hima Feldmann in Palatine.
She was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1941 and attended a year at the Elgin Business College. She married Vernen "LaVerne" J. Faber on Jan. 22, 1949 and they farmed in Plato Township until retiring in 1988.
Hermine was an accomplished musician, playing piano and organ since her early childhood. She held the post of organist at the Country Evangelical Convenant Church for 44 years. After she retired from her duties as organist in 1997, she served as substitute organist until the present. Over the years, she played for many weddings, funerals and special occasion events such as the Sunday morning services at the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club's annual Threshing Bees. She worked as secretary and treasurer in the office of the Burlington Central School District 301 for 14 years. All who knew Hermine recognized that she had the heart of a servant and that she dedicated her life in service to her Lord, her family and her church.
Surviving her in death from this earth are her husband, Vernen; a son, David of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters,Margaret (Timothy) Lundgren of Turner, Oregon and Kathleen (Daniel) Johnson of Carlshend, Mich.; four grandchildren, Heidi (Chris) Bray of Palmer, Mich.,Sarah Johnson of Carlshend, Mich.,Jeremiah Lundgren of Moscow, Idaho and Toran Lundgren of Turner, Oregon; a great-grandchild, Elijah Bray of Palmer, Mich.; two brothers, William (Carolina) Feldmann of Bowen, Ill. and the Rev. John (Beverly) Feldmann of Elgin; a brother-in-law, Abe Siemens of Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Feldmann of Cherry Valley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2001 at the Country Evangelical Covenant Church at the corner of Rt. 47 and McDonald Rd. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire and on Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the church.
Memorials may be made to the Country Evangelical Covenant Church.

Thelma Louise Larson
Thelma Louise Larson, 67, of Mountain Home, Ark. passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001 in Mountain Home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1933 in Alicia, Ark., the daughter of Henry Preston and Maude Sanders Crumpton.
She was a former resident of Elgin, moving to Arkansas in May 1993. She was a homemaker, loved to make quilts and was a dedicated Chicago Cubs Fan. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church.
Survivors include her husband,Eugene Larson, whom she married on Dec. 24, 1949; three sons, Danny E.Larson of Mountain Home, Ark., Gary P. (Linda) Larson of Elgin and C. David (Debbie) Larson of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Carol Ann (Luis) Garcia of Carpentersville; two brothers, Z.T. Crumpton of Alicia, Ark. and Henry Crumpton of Corning, Ark.; two sisters, Pauline Hall of Granite City, Ill. and Josephine Hanshaw of Booneville, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Eugene Larson, Paul Larson, Amy Marie Larson, Rebecca Ann Larson, Gary Scott Larson, Kristen Yvone Larson, Amanda Sue Larson, David Preston Larson and Jonathan Larson; three great-grandchildren, Ishiaa, Janessa andMichael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by herparents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2001 in Calvary Bible Church, the Rev. Roy Crane officiating. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday in the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Ark.
Memorials may be made to CalvaryBible Church.

Elizabeth "Ann" Thornton
Elizabeth "Ann" Quillen Thornton, 64, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 in North Carolina.
She was born in Richmond, Va., the daughter of George Howard and Hattie Florance Larson Quillen.
Mrs. Thornton was a Navy Veteran. She resided in Elgin for 18 years and Asheville, N.C. for 17 years and was employed by Cancer Care of WNC as a medical transcriptionist.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ann Thornton Robertson and her husband, of Killen, Ala.; four sons, Matthew James Thornton and his wife of Houston, Texas, Richard Dale Thornton of Arden, N.C., Rob Thornton and his wife of South Elgin and Thomas Michael Thornton and his wife of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, George Howard Quillen, Jr. of Sun Lake, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or the American Cancer Society, 31 College Place, Bldg. C., Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28801.

Lorraine L. Besler, age 88, formerly of DuBuque, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, Illinois.
Visitation 3-8pm, Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., DuBuque, Iowa. Services will be held at St. Raphael's Cathedral Catholic Church, Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at 10am. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary cemetery, DuBuque, Iowa.

Gayle M. Erckfritz
Gayle M. Erckfritz, 58, of West Dundee died Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. She was born in Elmhurst on December 20, 1945. She was the daughter of Harold and Barbara (nee Weber) Bach. Gayle was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a long time member of the Solid Rock Free Will Baptist Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Bradford Erckfritz. They married on April 3, 1965; their daughters, Tammy and Melissa; grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Michelle and Nick; sisters, Audrey Ticer of AR and her twin sister, Gloria (John) Erckfritz of Elgin; her brother-in-law, Dennis Marcy of TN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara Marcy and two brothers-in-law.
Family and friends will meet for funeral services on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Solid Rock Free Will Baptist Church 36 W. 540 South St. in Elgin. The Rev. Carl Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Wednesday in the Solid Rock Free Will Baptist Church of Elgin from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the Solid Rock Free Will Baptist Church of Elgin. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.

William D. Greenlee
William D. Greenlee, 67, of Poplar Grove, IL, formerly of Elgin and Streamwood, passed away May 1, 2004 in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 9, 1936 in Wyatt, MO, the son of Welton and Iva Greenlee. William had worked as an Operating Engineer for many years prior to his retirement, with Local Union #150. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #117.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, whom he married on June 9, 1956; two children, Jack (Janet) Greenlee of Elgin, IL and Elaine Struck of Janesville, WI; five grandchildren, William, Matthew, Kelly Greenlee and Joshua and Tiffany Struck; three brothers, Curtis, Paul and Jerry Greenlee; two sisters, Marie and Wanda; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Highland Gardens cemetery, Belvidere, IL with Rev. William Kerr officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
