Phyllis Jean Anderson
Phyllis Jean Anderson, 81, of Joplin, MO died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the home of her daughter following a long illness. Phyllis was born January 7, 1923 to the late Harry and Laura Heneise at Elgin, Illinois and had been a resident of the four-state area since 1974. She was a homemaker. She married
Roy A. Anderson in 1940 in Elgin, IL. He preceded her in death September 19, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Geri) Anderson of Shorewood, IL and Earl C. (Wendy) Anderson of Ottawa, IL; a daughter, Gay (Robert) Phillips of Joplin, MO; a brother, Harry "Bud" Heneise of California; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roy Anderson; and a daughter, Judy Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson has been cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Ronald McDonald House.
Arrangements are under the care of Mason Woodward Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
Virginia Krauss
Virginia Krauss, 81, of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday at her home. She was born on May 11, 1922 in Elgin she was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Wright Hachtel.
She graduated from Elgin High School and has been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin since 1950. She was a member of the Sherman Hospital Auxiliary for 26 years.
She is survived by her three sons, Thomas (Jayne) of CA and his three children, Justin (Amanda), Trentin and Coltin, Robert (Lynn) of Elgin and his three children, Christopher, Brian and Heidi, William of Elgin.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rudy whom she met while they both worked at the Elgin Watch Factory. She is also preceded by her two brothers, Robert and Richard.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Nierman, officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Madison Funeral Home. Memorial to Would Vision. Arrangements by Madison Funeral Home 847-741-1128.
Raymond J. Thums
Raymond J. Thums, 93, of Elgin passed away Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Rosewood Care Center. He was born August 21, 1910 in Elgin, the son of Joseph and Mary Sester Thums. He had been a resident of Elgin all his life. He attended St. Joseph Grade School in Elgin and Elgin High School. He had been employed by Volstorf Meat Market and then at the Elgin National Watch Co. in the Escape Room on the hair spring job before retiring. He cared for and traveled with horses and was an avid sportsman. He played baseball on the Watch Co. Team and enjoyed golfing, bowling, swimming, and playing football with the Slop Hill gang. He was a Veteran of W.W.II., serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Stationed aboard the L.S.T. 926, he brought supplies and ammunition to Guadalcanal, Tulogi Harbor, Saipon, Tinian, and Okinawa and was in the invasion of the Philippine Islands.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elgin and of the VFW Post 1307 of Elgin.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary (Kenneth) Lindoerfer of Elgin and Helen Winbigler of Cathedral City, CA; one nephew, Ralph (Cora) Lienert.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 62 years, Ethelyn Lienert Thums in 1999.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Miroslaw Reikowski officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin.
Lloyd P. Freeman
Lloyd P. Freeman, 92, of Orlando, FL, a former many year resident of Carpentersville, died Friday, May 6, 2005 in the Osceola Medical Center inKissimmee, FL. He was born in East Dundee on October 18, 1912, the son of William A. and Clara (nee Rewoldt) Freeman. Lloyd moved to Orlando in October of 2003. He was a many year employee and retired from Star Manufacturing in Carpentersville. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Carpentersville. He was a World War II Air Force veteran, a member of the Dundee VFW, a member of the Elgin American Legion #57 and a member of the Elgin Moose Lodge #799. Lloyd was known as a kind man having a quick wit and charm and also his signature farewell phrase "See ya in the movies".
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Claude) Bagwell of Carpentersville; his grandson, Nick (Molly) Parrucci of Tampa, FL; and his granddaughter, Pattie Parrucci of Orlando, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Freeman, the love of his life; and a brother, Roy J. Freeman.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 10:30 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township cemetery East, East Dundee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 AM until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Leukemia Society of America or the Alzheimer's Association.
Fred W. Harris Jr.
Fred W. Harris Jr., 56, of Elgin passed away Friday, May 6, 2005. He was born on September 16, 1948 in Elgin, IL, the son of Fred W. and Georgiana (Annis) Harris. Fred was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge 799 and the Elgin's Owls Club. He was an automobile mechanic for many years, working for McLean Amoco in Elgin and then Martin Service in South Elgin.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Barbara Cox; his beloved son, Anthony; and daughter, Rebecca both at home; brothers, Daniel (Julie) Harris of Elgin and Jeffrey Harris of Monett, MO; sister, Kathleen (Harold) Pierce of Cassville, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George Harris.
Visitation will be at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2005. Cremation will be after visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for their wishes.
Elaine I. Johnson
Elaine I. Johnson, 73, of West Dundee died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Owtanna, Minnesota on February 3, 1932. She was the daughter of George and Aletha King.
Mrs. Johnson was a resident of West Dundee for 42 years and a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of West Dundee. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Donald A. Johnson, Sr. They marries on June 9, 1950; and seven children, James and Greg of West Dundee, Pat (Bud) Goldberg of Denver, CO, Dale of Tampa, FL, Donald, Jr. (Judy) of Mesa, AZ, Cheryl (Don) Harrison of Grand Lake, CO and Susan of West Dundee. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harold.
Services and Interment will be private. There will be no visitation. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.
Michael Werrbach
Michael Werrbach, age 21 of Elgin, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Michael was born in Elgin, June 8, 1983 the sone of Craig and Valerie (Brown) Werrbach. He will be sorely missed by many cousins and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed racing cars at Sycamore Speedway, playing softball, competing in bowling leagues and competitors. He was a member of VFW Post 1307 Auxillary, Fraternal order of Eagles, ABT League and the ABC Association for bowling.
Michael took pride in volunteering at the Fox Valley Center for Independent Living calling Bingo. He was a Graduate of Elgin High School Class of 2001. He was employed by Theilsen Enterprises as the Marketing Manager and computer specialist.
Survived by Father, Craig of Elgin; mother, Valerie Sergey of Concord, CA; brother, Sterling Sergey; sister, Kiley Jones-Sergey; his paternal grandmother, Mary Werrbach of Elgin; maternal grandparents, Kenneth (June) Brown and Karen Law of Florida; paternal great-grandparents, Art and Emma Tebell of Streamwood; aunts and uncles, Russell (Candace) Werrbach, Douglas (Karen) Werrbach, Glenn Werrbach, James Werrbach, Jeff (Jill) Werrbach, Melody (Christopher) Linneman, Candy (Dave Sensor) Radke, Eric, Kevin and Katie Christian and Kendall Brown.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Glenn "Animal" Werrbach; uncle, Michael Dean Werrbach; and cousin, Shelby Marie Werrbach.
Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2005 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 7:00 P.M. at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, Elgin, Rev. Andrew Koschmann will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Fox Valley Center for Independent Living.

Wallace W. Hilleshiem
Wallace W. Hilleshiem of Saddlebrook, AZ, 69, died May 5, 2004, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Hilleshiem and his mother, Mabel Hayward of Tuscon, AZ; his sister-in-law Dolores and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Virgil Hayward and brother, Ray Hilleshiem.
Wallace was born in Rice Lake, WI on Sept. 7, 1934. He was a U.S. Marine and was a Korean War Veteran.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.

Margaret L. Turner, 85, of Wheeling, formerly of Elgin; beloved wife of the late William J. Turner for 25 years; loving mother of David (Lynn), Daniel and Brian Wells; great grandmother of Camille Houston.

Joyce Hope (Clark) Binder
Joyce Hope Binder, 62, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on February 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL, and was the daughter of Jewel and Valda (Sims) Clark. She married
Richard Binder in 1984. Joyce was a photographer for several years, prior to being an over the road truck driver, with her husband, seeing most of the United States and Canada.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; son, David (Jennifer) Rambo of San Diego, CA; daughters, Donna White of Fox River Grove, IL and Belinda (David) Chapman of Cary, IL; step-sons, David (Brenda) Binder of Nunica, MI, Jon (Danni) Binder of Crown Point, IN, and Bradley (Christi) Binder of Kansas; sister, Margie (Tom) Sexton of Hoffman Estates, IL; and ten grandchildren, Sean Chapman, Brendan Chapman, Chandler Groves, Johna Binder, Hayden Binder, Kyle Binder, Madison Binder, Dylan Binder, Owen Binder, and Lily Binder.
