Agnes Durrenberger
Agnes Durrenberger, 96, of Hampshire, formerly of Elgin, passed away Monday, May 9, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin.
She was born July 14, 1908 in Jonesboro, IL, the daughter of John R. and Nellie (Percifield) Ferrell. Agnes married Spencer Durrenberger on October 17, 1942 in Missouri.
Mrs. Durrenberger worked at Sherman Hospital, the former Resthaven and in cafeterias of Ellis Junior High and Larkin High School for many years before retirement. She was a member of the Hampshire Woman's Club and the Hampshire-Burlington Senior Citizens.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gene) Getzelman; two grandchildren, Terry (Gail) Getzelman and Sue (Dave) Getzelman-Callahan, all of Hampshire; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Spencer on January 16, 1987; three sisters, Alma Black, Clara Collins and Vera Hudgens; and four brothers, Raymond, Edwin, Russell and Woodrow Ferrell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Pastor Timm Chinn of the First Baptist Church of Elgin officiating. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Elgin, the Hampshire Paramedics or the charity of your choice.

Bonnie L. Jones
Bonnie L. Jones, 55, of South Elgin, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Sherman Hospital after a long battle with Renal failure and Cancer.
A beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, she is survived by her parents, James W. Jones of Lake Isabella, CA and Virginia V. Jones of South Elgin, IL; as well as her three sisters, and two brothers and their families.
A long time employee of Western Electric, she was a lifelong Elgin area resident.
A memorial reception will be held at the home of her brother, Joel Jones at 2180 South Street in Elgin on May 15 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Those who attend are encouraged to bring pictures and memories of Bonnie to share. Her ashes will be inurned at Bluff City cemetery in Elgin in mid-summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at 1-800-622-9010 or donate online.

Irene Sylvia Ristow
Irene Sylvia Ristow, age 81, of Winona, died on May 9, 2005 at Community Memorial Hospital, Winona, MN.
Irene was born July 8, 1923 in Modena, WI, to Sever and Inger (Hillestad) Thompson. On October 27, 1942, she married Rodney E. Ristow and they later divorced.
Irene moved from Alma, WI to Winona in 1972 and was employed at Winona Knitting Mills, Mexico USA, Holiday Inn and Winona Fire and Power before retiring at age 75. She was an active member of Central Lutheran Church, serving on the quilting committee, the funeral luncheon committee and helping with the preparation of the church newsletter. She was a member of the Elks of Winona and volunteered at the Winona Hospital and Treasures Galore.
Irene was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her many social activities with friends and church groups, especially her outings as part of the "white-haired ladies". She was a voracious reader, crossword puzzle aficionado and enthusiastic shopper. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and passed on its many holiday traditions to her children and grandson.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Glenn) Schneider, Naperville, IL; two sons, William (Ruth) Ristow, Elgin, IL, and Donald (Melinda) Ristow, Carson City, NV; five grandchildren, Kenna Turner, Alison Kramer, David Ristow, Jill (Pete) Beronio and John (Aileen) Schneider; six great grandchildren, Chandler and Cade Turner, Alexander and Nicholas Beronio, Christopher Sausman and Brianna Schneider; two sisters, Velma Owen, Cudahy, WI and Violet Hestekin, Eau Claire, WI and other relatives, including Donna Kalmes of Alma, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jule and Arthur Thompson, and three sisters, Myrtle Christenson, Norma Carothers and Evelyn Alme.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 13, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Central Lutheran Church, Winona, with Rev. Scott Olson officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona and at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be given to Central Lutheran Church; 259 West Wabasha St., Winona, MN 55987.
Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Winona.

Maurice L. Hall, Jr. "Maury"
Maurice L. Hall, Jr., 79, of Rockford, formerly of Elgin, passed away Monday, May 10, 2004 in Rockford, IL. He was born on May 1, 1925 in Elgin and was the son of Maurice L. and Christine M. Hall, Sr.
Maury was a veteran and served in the U.S. Airforce, during World War II and the Korean War. He had worked for his father many years building homes in the Cary and Fox Valley area. Maury was also active with the Big Timber Hiawatha Dancers.
Survivors include four children, Craig (Diane) Hall of Cary, IL, Janice (Gary) Conner of Hayward, WI, Joyce Parrilli of Dundee, IL, and Sue (Tim) Ryan of Marengo, IL; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Doris Elayne Schweizer
Doris Elayne Schweizer, 59 of West Dundee died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born September 23, 1944 in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of Harold J., Sr. and Juanita (nee Kirk) Schweizer.
Doris was a 15 year resident of West Dundee. She was an employee of Marriott/Cater Air/Flying Food Group for over 30 years.
She is survived by her brother, John Schweizer, Jr. of West Dundee; her sisters, Susan (William) Davidowski of Gilberts and Patti (Mark) Brandt of Fishers, IN; her nieces and nephews, Michael, Carol and Mark Schweizer, Kathleen (Matt) Russell and Kimberly Farrell, Melinda "Mindy" Davidowski and Alex Brandt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alice "Torchy" Farrell.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes

Mary B. Jackson
Mary B. Jackson, 71, of Streamwood, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 after battling cancer. Mary passed away in the comfort of her own home. She was born to Robert and Harriett (Loetz) Madigan in Chicago, IL on August 15, 1933.
Mary was a resident of Streamwood, IL for 42 years and retired from Charter Bank of Hanover Park. After retiring, she worked at First Eagle Bank of Hanover Park. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all who met her.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Don E. Jackson. They were married on December 18, 1954; Son, William (Kim) Jackson of South Elgin, IL with grandchildren, Melissa and Amy; Daughter, Carol Lyne (John) Whittemore of Springfield, MO with grandchildren, Sean, April and Charlie; Son, Russell (Cheryl) Jackson of Indianapolis, IN with grandchildren, Russell and Rachel, Foster daughter, Cathy Anderson of Carpenteria, CA and Cody.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Harriett; and her brothers, Robert Jr. and Jim.
The funeral will be private. A memorial will be held at The Schaumburg Church of Christ, 601 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on May 19, 2005. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a single white flower be brought for the memorial.

E. Joyce (Martin-Raddatz) Klimek
E. Joyce (Martin-Raddatz) Klimek, 79, of Vandalia, MI, formerly of Elgin, IL, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2005 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI after a brief illness.
She was born September 8, 1925, in Elgin, IL to William A. and Bertha C. (Larson) Martin.
Her husband, Matthew G. Klimek, survives her, along with two daughters and a son, Sharon (Don) Thompson of Elgin and Judy (Joe) Musser of Batavia, IL, Dale Raddatz of Decorah, IA; a step-daughter, Bonnie (Dale) DeBolt of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves a sister, Virginia (Jim) Perry of South Elgin; and a brother, William G. (Sally) Martin of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Fred A. Raddatz, Jr.; a son, Frew W. Raddatz; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia R. Thompson; two sisters, Patsy Martin and Lucille Mellon; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Mellon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14, at Christ Community Church, Randall and Bolcum Rd., St. Charles, IL with Rev. Larry Breeden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Hyder Family Benefit Fund, c/o Elgin State Bank, P.O. Box 541, Elgin, IL 60121-9973. Stephine (Keith) Hyder is Joyce Klimek's great-granddaughter whose house burnt down on April 17.

Marisa C. Martinez
Marisa C. Martinez, 26, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. She was born July 14, 1978 in Elgin the daughter of Mario and Teresa (Gudino) Martinez.
Marisa was a 1997 Graduate of Elgin High School, she attended Elgin Community College and was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church. While attending college she volunteered at the Jayne Shover Easter Seals, United Way and the Boys and Girls club of Elgin. She had a great love of people and thought nothing of helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her parents, Mario and Teresa Martinez of Elgin; her brother, Jerry (Tiffany) Martinez of New Lisbon, WI; her grandparents, Faye Jaynes and Feliz Martinez, Josephine Gudino; her niece, Hailey Lynne Martinez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
preceded in death by her grandfather, Marcos Gudino; an uncle, Alan Jaynes; and a cousin, Jeffrey Gudino in infancy.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, May 14, 2005 at St. Laurence Catholic Church (Corner of Jewitt and Standish), Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Catholic cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of mass in church. Memorials may be made in her name to the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin.

Sally A. Vik
Sally A. Vik, 73, of Naples, FL, passed away at her home on Friday, May 6, 2005. She has been living in Naples since 1986, having moved from Elgin, IL. She was a member of the North Naples United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert E. Vik; and five children, Robert E. (Vicky) Vik II, Martin D. (Cindy) Vik, David J. (Anne) Vik, Laura (Bill) Saracco, and Dwight E. Larson. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Stone; as well as six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Abbie N. Larson II.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
