James W. Haynes
James W. Haynes, 82, of Carpentersville, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born in Lacan, Ala. on March 9, 1918, the son of John Henry and Myrtle (nee Couch) Haynes.
He was a 44 year resident of Carpentersville. He worked as an Iron Worker for over 40 years and a member of the Iron Workers Union Local #1. Following retirement for the past 10 years he was an employee of Walmart in East Dundee. James was an extremely loyal Chicago Cub Fan.
Survivors include a son, Danny (Kathy) Haynes of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Teresa (Harry) Patrick of West Dundee and Debbie (Harry) Doscher of Sleepy Hollow; two grandchildren, Mandi and Tim Patrick; two brothers, Clyde andDaniel, both of Alabama; three sisters, Gladys Rampich of California, Pauline Smith of Alabama and Kathleen Wilhite of Tennessee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Haynes on June 29, 1999; a sister, Ethel; and two brothers, Earl and Louie.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, the Rev. Greg Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Windridge cemetery, Cary.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of services.
Keith David Lane
Keith David Lane, 19 of Elgin, formerly of Carpentersville died Monday Feb. 5, 2001 in Carpentersville.
He was born in Elgin on November 21, 1981 and was a life long resident of the Carpentersville- Elgin areas.
He was a member of the senior class of Barrington High School and a member of the varsity track and gymnastic teams.
He is survived by his mother and step-father Denise (nee Keene) and Raymond Carroll of Elgin; his father David R. Lane of Elkhorn, Wis.; a step-brother Shawn Lane; three step-sisters, Tammy Carroll, Nora Hakes and Candy Carroll all of Wisconsin; paternal grandmother Joanne (Lon) Swanson of Elgin. Keith is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Gene Lane; his maternal grandparents Charles and Dorothy Keene; his maternal great grandmother Emma Ruth "Mimmie" Breede; and an uncle Dennis M. Keene.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, the Rev. Richard D. Feyen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.

Elmer F. Leetzow
Elmer F. Leetzow, 90, of Burlington, Wis. died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 in his home.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1910 in Illinois, the son of Frank and Emma (Buhre) Leetzow.
He married
Marjorie Kasules and they recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. He was owner and operator of the Star Sandwich Shop in Elgin from 1952 until 1969 and was a member of the Elks of Elgin. He retired to Burlington, Wis. in 1970. He was an avid motorcyclist and former pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Burlington; two sons, Joel (Barbara) of Delavan, Wis. and Thomas (Cindy) of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Joel (Jennifer) Leetzow, Wendy (Kurt) Folkers and Sarah and Melissa Leetzow; four great-grandchildren, Kalelynne, Cameron, Cody and Whitney Folkers; a sister, Myrtle Stowell of Gainesville, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Leetzow and Charles Davis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan is assisting the family.

Robert Oldham
Robert Oldham, 75, of Elgin, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 in Sherman West Court.
He was born Aug. 3, 1925 in Eldorado, Ill., the son of Virgil and Edith (Prince) Oldham.
He was veteran having served in the US Navy during WWII. Robert worked as a Carpenter for many years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta L. (Peter) Gomez of Elgin; four grandchildren, Nicole, Janel, Peter and StacyGomez, all at home; a brother, Carl Oldham of Elgin; two sisters, Melva (Lee) Bowman and Mary (Roger) Lapp, both of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Glendal Oldham; and a sister, Lovine Jacobs.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m., Thursday in the First Christian Church, 1125 Summit St., Elgin, the Rev. Titus Solomon officiating. Burial will be private.
There will be no visitation. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Arnold G. Dahlgren
Arnold G. Dahlgren, 89 of Largo, Florida former many year resident of Elgin died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the Mariner Health Center of Orange City in DeBary. He was born in Chicago on December 11, 1912.
He was the son of Adolph and Amanda (nee Youngbloom) Dahlgren. He was President and operator of Dahlgren Original Lamp Design of East Dundee and former Vice President of Haeger Pottery Lamp Division until his retirement. He was a former many year member of the First United Methodist Church of West Dundee.
He is survived by five nieces: Cecelia (Orrin) Eames of Minnesota, Theresa (Ralph) Huggins of Minnesota, Jean (Charles) Rylander of Florida, Deborah Reed of Maryland and Susan Albright-Becker of Oregon; three nephews: Norman (Sarah) Dahlgren of California, Dr. W. Allan (Ann) Walker of Massachusetts and Steve Albright of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jessie S. Dahlgren on November 24, 1990. They married
on September 16, 1939, two sisters: Ruth Albright and Alice Plautz; and two brothers: Norman and Lawrence Dahlgren.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 11:00 am in the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee. The Rev. Eun Hye Choi will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Dundee Township cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7 pm in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in the church from 10:00 am until the time of services. Margaret I. Muirhead
Margaret I. Muirhead, 78 of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born October 30, 1923 in Plato Center, the daughter of Boyd and Carrie Marshall Muirhead. She had been a resident of Plato Center and Elgin all of her life.She was a member of First Presbyterian Church-USA of Elgin.
Surviving are her three brothers:James (Gloria) Muirhead of Elgin; Glenn (Betty) Muirhead of Elgin; Leslie (Lorraine) Muirhead of Nashville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, Elgin with the Rev. Peter Boeve officiating. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be given to First United Presbyterian Church.
Mary Olson
Mary Olson, of Elgin, died February 6, 2002 at Sherman West Court. She was born July 22, 1910 in Sweden, daughter of Karl and Eva Lofgren Lind.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Elgin. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Program and worked for the Elgin Mental Health Center as a nurse for 18 years.
Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Ellen (Walter) Minehart of Texas, Connie Sakrison of California, Kristine (Lawrence) VanDusen of Elgin; two step-sons, Alan (Cathy) Olson of Pennsylvania, and David (Peggy) Olson of Illinois; a step-daughter, Linda Volko of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Wayne Alkire and her second husband Walter Olson; two brothers, John Lind and Ed Lind; and a sister, Ellen Walbaum.

Walter C. Pedley
Walter C. Pedley, 78 of East Dundee died Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at the Apostolic Christian Resthaven in Elgin. He was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on April 10, 1923.
He was the son of Walter and Grace (nee Manson) Pedley. Walter was 55 year resident of the Dundee area. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Chicago District Council Of Carpenters Union. He was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee where he served as a former usher, a member of the finance committee and a member of the board of directors. He was a W.W. II Army Infantry veteran having earned the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Hampshire V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Dorothy J. (nee Schuring) Pedley. They married
on November 27, 1948; five children, Sandra Keller (fiancee' Jim Kmetty) of Hanover Park, Larry of East Dundee, Gary (Paula) of Mayfield, Kentucky, Danny "Fred" (Kathy) of Lake Forest, CA and Jill (Mike) Falese of Elgin; seven grandchildren: Jeffery, Corey, Daniel, Michelle Keller, Nicholas LaCommare and Angela and Michael Falese.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: William and John.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Dundee. The Rev. William P. Yonker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. George J. Pilcher
George J. Pilcher, age 80, of Elgin. died Thursday, January 31, 2001 at Crystal Pines Nursing Home in Crystal Lake. Born April 7, 1921 to George and Elizabeth Pilcher.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy E. (Donald) Ebel; also nieces and nephews.

Annie Marie Simmons, 52, of Elgin, died February 4, 2002 at Sherman Hospital. She was born in Osceola, AK on October 15, 1949.
She is survived by her children Jemila Ali, Malik Ali, Frederick Simmons, Roger Simmons, Catherine BoBo, LaStar Simmons, Iesha Simmons; seven brothers: Rickey Mosley, Darron Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Larry Mosley, Rudy Mosley, Reginald Mosley and Michael Mosley; nine sisters: Mary (Bruce) Whiteside, Shirley (Curtis) Lockett, Sophie Anderson, Doris Simmons, Patricia Bonds, Bertha Simmons, Bobbie (Tina) Atkins, Carolina Bonds, Helen Washington; six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frank B. Whitmer
Frank B. Whitmer, Sr. 59 of Henderson, Nevada formerly of West Dundee and Lake In the Hills died Sunday, February 3, 2002 in the St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus, Henderson Nevada. He was born in Chicago on January 10, 1943. He was the son of Rile and Opal Whitmer. Frank was a former many year resident of the Dundee and Lake In The Hills areas. He has been a resident of Nevada for the last 3 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran having served in Viet NAM. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Henderson and a former member of the Immanuel Lutheran Churches of East Dundee and Crystal lake.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra (nee Kalas) Whitmer. They married
on March 6, 1965; three children, Gina (Scott) Ouimette of South Elgin, Anthony (Michelle) Whitmer of Hampshire and Frank B. Whitmer, Jr. of Chandler, Arizona. Seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Amanda, Danielle, Brianna, Trevor, Mackenzie and Keegan. Two sisters: Carol (Rich) Mitchell of Kouts, Indiana & Maryann (Joe) Klod of Carol Stream, IL. Three brothers: Gene (Janice) Whitmer of Pahrump Nevada, Michael (Sharon) Whitmer of Las Vegas, NV and Peter (April) Whitmer of Chicago. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: David and Joseph.

Myrtle Wilson
Myrtle Wilson, 87, a resident of Elgin for 6 years and formerly of Louisville, KY, died Wednesday, February 6 at the Carrington Care Center.
She was born July 16, 1914 to Mayo and Amanda Holbrook in Whitesburg, KY. In Louisville, she was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by one daughter, Beverley Wilson of Elgin, one son, Dwight Wilson of CA, two grandsons, Daniel Wilson and Michael Anderson and a friend and caregiver Michael Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seldon Wilson in 1999.
Services will be held on Friday, February 8 at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 S. Algonquin Rd, in South Barrington, with visitation from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 4:30 pm.
Interment will be held in Louisville, KY at the Cave Hill cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Willow Creek Community Church.
