Donald Lee Benson
Donald Lee Benson, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in McKinney, Texas. He was born on March 31, 1937 in Geneva, Illinois, the son of Wallace Sr. and Rose (nee Lundgren) Benson.
Donald graduated from Batavia High School in 1955, and proudly served his country as a soldier in the United States Army National Guard. He graduated from Chicago Technical College in 1959, with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. Donald had obtained a pilot's license and also enjoyed motorcycling. He resided in Naperville for 30 years.
In 1947, at the age of 10, he and his brother Wallace played a trumpet duet on radio stations WENR and WCFL on the Morris B. Sachs Amateur Hour. On December 28, 1953, at the age of 15, he and Wallace received medals for heroism from the American Legion for rescuing two ice skaters that fell through the ice on the Fox River.
He is survived by a daughter, Katherine (Paul) Spencer of McKinney, Texas; a brother, Wallace (Cathi) Benson Jr. of Aurora, IL; three grandchildren, Trey, Renee, and Mary Spencer, all of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews in the Aurora area.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2003 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Yurs Peterson-Moss Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Rt. 31) in Batavia. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff Fricke of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at the West Batavia cemetery.

Mirta J. Fisher, nee Brey, age 69 of Streamwood, formerly of Miami FL. Mirta was born January 15, 1934 in Havana, Cuba and passed away May 28, 2003 at her home in Streamwood, IL. Beloved wife of Ken whom she married
June 6, 1952. Loving mother of Cora (Charles) Mullins, Kenneth Jr. (Barbara), Delia Wynn and Walter "Rinky" (Susan). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Jacob, Jesse, Kenny, Joshua, Matthew, Lauren, and Danielle. Sister of Carmen, Alicia, Aida, Julio, Mario, and Elsa.

Darlene C. Hovey
Darlene C. Hovey, age 75, of St. Charles, died Wednesday at Delnor-Community Hospital, Geneva, IL. She was born February 23, 1928 in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
She is survived by her six children, James "Butch" Holbrook of Lucasville, Ohio, Alice (Robert) Owens of Polk, Pennsylvania, Fred Holbrook of Michigan City, Indiana, Roberta (Thomas) Williams of St. Charles, John Holbrook of Elgin, and Lisa Holbrook of Carpentersville, IL; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shelby Conn of Niles, Ohio and Helen Horton of Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Robert Owens; brothers, Fred, Joseph, Homer, and Luke; three sisters, Thelma, Gladys, and Dorothy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles. Rev. Joe H. Oliver officiating. Interment will be private. Stephen W. Krumpack Sr.
Stephen W. Krumpack Sr., 81, of Carpentersville died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born in Chicago July 7, 1921 to Joseph and Rose (nee Bomlik) Krumpack.
He worked for the Milwaukee Rail Road for 41 years until his retirement in 1980. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene (nee Soderberg); his son, Stephen (Debbie) Krumpak Jr. of Mt. Prospect; his grandson, Christopher; granddaughter, Nicole both of Mt. Prospect; and sister, Catherine "Kate" Heaton of Mt. Prospect.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and John; and a sister, Rose Bell.
Visitation will be Saturday 4:30 to 7 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Services and burial will be private at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
John W. Reynolds
John W. Reynolds, 77, of Carpentersville, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in the Heritage Manor, Elgin. He was born April 30, 1925 in Detroit, MI and was the son of Jack and Annie (Perkins) Reynolds. John was a Veteran, and served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for A.B. Dick Co. for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Elgin.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, whom he married
on April 20, 1963; two children, Clifford (Darlene) Oldenburg of Chicago, IL, and Janette (Gil) Spink of Elgin, IL; one grandchild, Heather (Greg Peters) Miller; one nephew, Keith Kritz; and three sisters, Lillian, Dorothy, and Bernice all in Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1250 Parkview Dr., Elgin. Burial will be in Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Saturday in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church Missionary fund. Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.
Olivia Rae Thompson
Olivia Rae Thompson, infant, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was the daughter of Donald and Kimberly (Bentley) Thompson of Hampshire, IL; and the sister of Miah Thompson.
Services will be private, with the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin handling arrangements.
Caitlin E. Weese
Caitlin E. Weese, 17, of Wonder Lake, IL, formerly of South Elgin, IL, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2003 in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
She was born June 15, 1985 in McHenry, IL, and was a daughter of Wayne Weese and Diane Remmers.
Caitlin was a Senior at Larkin High School in Elign, and was scheduled to graduate on Saturday, May 31, 2003. She was employed at Applebee's Restaurant in Elgin, and she enjoyed working out at Wolff Health & Fitness Center. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her mother, Diane (Joel) Mains of Wonder Lake, IL; her father, Wayne (Donna) Weese of Gurnee, IL; her sister, Cassi Weese of Carbondale, IL; her step sister, Emily Mains of Genoa, IL; her step brother, Ryan Mains of Ft. Benning, GA; maternal grandmother, Laurelle Muehling; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Weese; a nephew, Elliott Mains of Genoa, IL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Vincent Remmers in 1977; her maternal step grandfather, Charles Muehling, whom she had known as "Grandpa" in 1996.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11 AM in th St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin, (Corner Highland Ave. and St. Thomas More Dr. with Rev Geoffrey Wirth officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 1, 2003 from 3 to 9 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, and on Monday from 10 AM until the time of services in the Church.

Bruce L. Janetski, 57, of East Dundee died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Great Falls, Montana on July 13, 1945.
He was a 15 year resident of the Dundee area and was employed by The State of Illinois Department of Un-Employment. He was a member of Elgin American Legion #57.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Jessica of East Dundee; his mother and step father, Genevieve (Les) Safransky of Great Falls, Montana; a step brother, Dan Safransky of Great Falls, Montana; and many friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Janetski; and a sister, Penny Jacobson.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Services and interment will be private.

Gwendolyn F. Bobb
Gwendolyn F. Bobb, 88, of Mount Morris, Ill., formerly of Elgin, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Pinecrest Manor, Mount Morris. She was born June 29, 1915 in Rugby, North Dakota, the daughter of George and Sarah Kreps Bobb. She was a graduate of Central High School in St. Paul, Minn. She had been a resident of Elgin for 40 years before moving to Mount Morris in 1999. She had been employed by American Hoist and Derrick Co., in St. Paul and then at the Brethren Church General Offices in Elgin for 21 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, and was very active in the YWCA, Altrussa Club and Brethren Geneology.
Surviving are a sister, Georgia Bobb Eggers of Marine, Minn; a niece, Nancy (David) Dennis of Marine, Minn; nephews, William Eggers of Marine, Minn, Charles (Carol) Eggers of Marine, Minn. and Randy (Marlys) Eggers of New Brighton, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Opal Bobb.
Funeral Services Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11 AM at the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, Elgin with Rev. Joel Kline officiating. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis, Minn. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be given to the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren.
