Nancy J. Epping
Nancy J. Epping of Marengo, IL and Bailey's Harbor, WI passed away in her Wisconsin home on Saturday, May 31. She was born in 1949 in Geneva, IL and grew up in St. Charles, IL.
Nancy was the Executive Director of the Elgin Public Museum in Elgin, IL as well as serving in a number of capacities with several professional organizations. She was active in charitable giving and supportive of causes she felt important.
Nancy always participated in in her community wherever that community was. She served on the Marengo Library Board, Elgin Area Tourism Counsel, Association of Midwest Museums among others.
She enjoyed her life, her family and her communities. She was a good person who tried to right wrongs and make our world a better place for those to follow. She was a good person, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She will be missed. We are better for having known her.
Those wishing to celebrate Nancy's life can do so at the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand, Elgin, IL on Sunday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. in Lords Park. Come join her husband Hugh, daughter Kendra, grandsons J and Michael, mother Joann, and father Robert, sister Barbara, brother Robert and the many others that she touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elgin Public Museum or the Nancy J. and Hugh J. Epping Foudation. Further details are available by calling the Elgin Public Museum at 847-741-6655.

John F. Pyrek
John F. Pyrek Sr., 84, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born March 7, 1919 in Chicago, the son of Walter and Anna Kroz Pyrek. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1960. He was employed as an insurance agent with State Farm Insurance Co. located at 913 Liberty St., for 40 years before retiring. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the Army Air Corps.
He was a faithful member of St. Laurence Catholic Church of Elgin where he had been an usher for 25 years and ws active in various church activities.
Survivng are his wife, Dorothea Sigl Pyrek; his daughter, Mary Suzanne Pyrek of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, John F. (Ellen) Pyrek Jr. of Elgin; five grandchildren, Jennifer Sturgeon, Amberlynne Joy Pyrek, John F. Pyrek III, Christopher Pyrek and Tessa Rae Pyrek; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Julia Sturgeon; one sister, Marie (Walter) Sweiton of Mt. Prospect.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Joseph Kulak officiating. Private entombment will be in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles. Visitation will be held Friday 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. Memorials may be given to St. Laurence Catholic Church Building Fund.

Harold Wright
Harold Wright, 66, of West Dundee died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Born on March 1, 1937 in Harrisburg, IL to Virgil H. and Rosa Mae (nee Healy) Wright. Harold was employed by D. Hill Nursery for 46 years.
He is survived by his children, Wanda Lynette (Patrick) Fitzsimmons of Huntley, Rebecca Jo Finley of Benton, Virgene K. (Roy) Feltner of West Dundee, Michael D. Wright of Harrisburg and Walter E. Wright of Benton; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Virgil (Natalie) of Evansville, IN, Wayne (Stella) of Harrisburg, William (Edna) of Peoria, Charles of Harrisburg, David (Judy) of Harrisburg and John (Carolyn) Wright of Kankakee.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wright.
Visitation will be on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will be private.

Deanne Boiley
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL for Deanne (Mrs. Robert) Boiley who passed away January 30, 2004 in Venice, FL.
Deanne (Maricle) Boiley was born in Wells, MN August 18, 1923. Her sister is Jo (Ken) Iverson who resides in Colfax, WI.
Mrs. Boiley was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, William who was killed in Italy in 1943.
Deanne graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1946, taught school in Minneapolis during 1946-47. She married Robert T. Boiley on June 24, 1947. They moved to Lansing, MI where Deanne continued her teaching career. When Bob entered Dental School in Northwestern, Deanne taught in Highland Park, IL. She retired from teaching elementary school in 1952 when Bob and Deanne started their family.
Son Craig was born in 1952 followed by daughter Rebecca Jo in 1954. The family resided in Elgin, IL until 1994. Bob retired from his dental practice and they moved to Venice, FL.
While living in Elgin, Deanne was very active with the Junior Service Board and other charitable organizations. When she wasn't playing bridge, playing golf at Elgin Country Club, or playing tennis, she stayed active in the lives of her children and two grandchildren, Kari and Zachary Schuttler.
Always wanting to help friends and neighbors, she would be attentive to the needs of others. She was attentive and details and whether it was entertaining at her home, sewing beautiful outfits for the family members and friends and lately painting articles of clothing for a hobby.
Deanne is survived by her husband of 56 years; son, Craig (Jorga); daughter, Becky; two grandchildren, Kari and Zachary; one great-grandchild, Jaden; sister, Jo (Ken) Iverson; brother-in-law, Clarence (Connie) Boiley; and a number of nieces and extended family.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials can be sent in Deanne's name to Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center in New York Center.

Kaethe E. Brodde
Kaethe E. Brodde, 89 of Elgin, passed away on June 4, 2004 at Heritage Manor in Elgin. She was born May 3, 1915 in Germany and is the daughter of Herman and Anna Splittgerber Drews. She is a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Elgin.
She is survived by her three sons, Hans (Janet) Brodde of Elgin, Eckhard (Theresa) Brodde of North Brook, IL, and Harry (Martha) Brodde of Arizona; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerhard (Elaine) Drews of Elgin.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul in 1962; a brother, Paul; and three sisters, Herta Melchior, Erna Johnson, and Frieda Laser.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 8 at 10 a.m. at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Vitas Hospice.

Arnold Christian
Arnold Christian, 86, of Elgin died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in Rosewood Care Center in Elgin.
He was born Jan. 25, 1915 in Mayville, Wis., the son of Alfred T. and Alma Christian.
He had been a resident of Elgin since 1943 and had been employed by the Plating Co. in Genoa before retiring. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Algonquin.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth (Morris) Hintt of Elgin and Norma Petersen of Carol Stream; three brothers, Walter (Ruth) Christian of Beloit, Wis., Martin (Phyllis) Christian and Alfred E. (Dorothy) Christian, both of Elgin; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 1982; and a brother, Gerhard Christian.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Rollin F. Kuznik officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Friends may call in the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of Algonquin building fund.

Rosemarie C. McKay
Rosemarie C. McKay, 73, of Geneva, Ill., Fontana, Wis. and formerly of St. Charles, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin surrounded by her loving family.
Among her many accomplishments, Rosemarie was Past President of St. Patrick's Women's Club, St. Charles; member of Mercy Hospital Women's Board; member of The Patrician Society of Old St. Patrick's Church, Chicago; member of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago; member of Big Foot Country Club, Fontana, Wis.; member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Charles and St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Fontana, Wis. She was an avid Scrabble and Gin Rummy player.
To know her was to love her. A remarkable woman, Rosemarie lived life to its fullest. She was a devoted mother, dedicating her life to her family. She was kind, generous and had a delightful sense of humor. Always a pleasure, she brightened the lives of those around her. She was truly a lovely lady.
She had a strong faith in God and never showed any fear during her courageous battle with cancer. A Spiritual woman, whose strength and faith carried her through the many challenges in life.
Surviving are her husband, Donald H. McKay, she was his best friend, pal and cherished wife of 55 years; three daughters, Kathleen McKay, Mary (Louis)LaBuda and Susan (William) Burgman; three sons, Michael D. (Natalie) McKay, William T. (Louise) McKay and Donald J. (Debora) McKay; her mother, Cecelia Wylie; 17 grandchildren, Michael (Kelly), Julie (Don) Carlson, Meghan, Maureen, Molly, Shannon, Shaun, Kelly, Brian, Conor, Courtney, Jessica, Erin, Julia,William, Matthew and Brigette; a great-granddaughter, Mary Rose; three sisters, Patricia Cedzidlo, Bonnie (Larry) Sullivan and Sharon (Edward) Nelson; sisters-in-law, Ruth Downs and Gloria (Ron) Fournier; a brother-in-law, Edward McKay; and many nieces, nephews and several wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Wylie; a son, James Patrick McKay; and other relatives, Harry and Julia McKay, Robert McKay, Dorothy and James McDonough, William Downs, Edward Cedzidlo and Yvonne McKay.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2001 in St. Patrick's Mission Church, Crane Rd., St. Charles, the Rev. Jack Heraty and Rev. Joseph Linster officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie cemetery, St. Charles Township.
Visitation will be 10 a.m., Friday until the time of Mass in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Donald and Rosemarie McKay Charitable Trust, P.O. Box 3268, St. Charles, IL. 60174, those memorials will be distributed to support various charities and causes to which Rosemarie and Don are dedicated.

Neil A. Morton
Neil A. Morton, 69 of Sun City, AZ formerly of Elgin and Springfield, IL, died Thursday, May 10, 2001 in Sun City.
He was born April 25, 1932 in Elgin, the son of Earl and Josephine Morton. He married Beverly Begalka in 1955.
Mr. Morton attended Northwestern University and the University of Illinois, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; three sons, Scott (Laura) of Springfield, Mark (Cheryl) of Peoria, AZ, and Christopher (Mindy) of Nashville TN; two daughters, Debbie (Doug) Pollock of Midland, MI, and Kim (Ric) Schroder of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren; two brothers, James of Milltown, IN, and Denny of Hampshire; a sister, Pat Kiley of St. Augustine FL.
Private memorial services were held at his home in Sun City.

Frances A. Stannard
Frances A. Stannard, 93, of Elgin, formerly of San Antonio, Texas, Elmwood Park and Chicago passed away Monday, June 4, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born Sept. 26, 1907 in Jasper, Texas, the daughter of Henry E. and Laura E. (Fagen) Trottie.
Survivors include five children, Ursula Weller and Willard (Suzette) Stannard, both of San Antonio, Texas, Stanley (Yvonne) Stannard and Mary Steen, both of Elgin and Betty (Jerry) Hattendorf of St. Charles; proud grandmother of 17; and great-grandmother of 11.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Doctor S. Lloyd Stannard in 1977, six sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Thursday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Michael Stadtmueller officiating. Burial will be in San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday starting at 5 p.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.

L.C. Stark
L.C. Stark, 57, of Elgin, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in his home.
He was born Nov. 12, 1943, the son of Jonnie and Nellie Stark.
He loved to bowl, fish and archery.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Stark (nee Smith); his children, Tamara Starks of South Elgin, Frank (Shawn) Stark of Chicago, Desmond Smith, Tamika Smith, Sonya Smith, Tosha Smith, Tonya Smith, all of Elgin; two grandchildren, Justice Starks and Ajean Starks, both of Crystal Lake; three brothers, Sammie L. (Mary L.) Stark and Frank (Toreaine) Stark, both of Elgin and Wille Dee Stark of Maywood; a sister, Stella Washington of Indianapolis; his father, John Stark of Wynne, Ark.; and two aunts.
He was preceded in death by Dorothy J.; a son, Alonso Stark; his mother, Nellie Stark; two sisters, Ola Mae Kelly and Blondelle Stark; and two brothers, John Eddie Stark and Melvin Stark.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday in the Community Center Church of God in Christ, South Elgin, Alder Andrew Johnson officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Friday in the Church.
O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
