Henrietta E. Rushka
Henrietta E. Rushka, 78, of Elgin, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 in her home in Elgin.
She was born July 28, 1922 in West Allis, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Minnie (nee Wondergem) Blanck.
Survivors include her husband, Edward C. Rushka, Sr., whom she married on May 6, 1940; her son, Edward C. (Ann Marie) Rushka, Jr. of Elgin; two daughters, Mary Ellen LaRocca of Las Vegas, Nev. and Helen Kathleen (Mark) Scherf of Elgin; five sisters, Diane Hutton of Round Lake, Helen Blanck of Elgin, Delores McCoy of Chicago, Charlotte (Paul) Beers of Kentucky, Lois (Jake) Reil of Wisconsin; her daughter-in-law, Gail Rushka of South Elgin; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Walter D. "Wally" in 1997; two brothers, Ike and Bill Blanck; and two sisters, Marie and Bernice.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 13 in the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel, the Rev. Thomas O'Connor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.

Charles Westphal
Charles Westphal, 80, of Elgin passed away Sunday, June 10, 2001 in his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1920 in Elgin, the son of Charles and Josephine Schlund Westphal.
He had been a resident of Elgin all of his life. He was employed by Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works for 38 years as a machinist before retiring. He was a veteran WW II serving in the Navy. He was a life member of American Legion Post 57 of Elgin.
Survivors include three daughters,Judith (Allan) Shelton of South Elgin,Barbara (Richard) Howenstein of Elgin and Pamela (Dennis) Ashley of Elgin; a son, Robert Charles Westphal of Elgin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Westfall of West Palm Beach, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Fehrman Westphal in 1993; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Ralph McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.

Eileen C. Blosat
Eileen C. Blosat, 88, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2002 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven, Elgin. She was born August 27, 1913 in Franklin, IL and was the daughter of W. Ellsworth and Viva (Galbraith) Chaplain. Resident of Elgin for many years, Eileen had worked as a Registered Nurse.
Member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin.
She is survived by her son, Bruce (Bonnie) Blosat of Roswell, GA and a grandson, Brad of Ridgefield, CT.
preceded in death by her parents; also her husband, Erwin, in 1962.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Robert Wisehart officiating. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

George T. Campbell
George T. Campbell, 58, of Elgin passed away on Monday, June 10, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born on July 18, 1943 in Humboldt, TN., the son of George and Obielean Foster Campbell. He was a member of the Elgin Travelers Bowling League. He was also a coach for the little league in Elgin.
He is survived by: two sons; George (Patricia) Campbell of Elgin and Craig (Lorrie) Campbell also of Elgin: two sisters; Lillian Foster of Rockford, IL., Gladys (Eddie) Jackson of Elgin: seven grandchildren; Sheri, Keeyana, Aaron, Everet, Danielle, Mariah and Shyanne and a dear friend Lois Raschke of Elgin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 11:00 p.m. at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin, IL. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. (847)741-1128

Tomasz J. Faszczewski
Tomasz J. Faszczewski, 33, of Hampshire, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2002 in his home.
He was born November 9, 1968 in Lodz, Poland, the son of Tadeusz and Krystyna (Nobis) Faszczewski. He came to the U.S. on July 17, 1981 settling in Chicago. Tomasz married Margaret Staszalek on April 11, 1993 in Poland and they have been residents of Hampshire since 1999.
Mr. Faszczewski was employed at Haumiller Engineering Co. of Elgin for the past four years. He was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; daughters, Grace and Sylvia, both at home; his parents, Tadeusz and Krystyna Faszczewski of Addison, and his mother and father-in-law Grace and Stefan Staszalek of Poland.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10 to 12 noon at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the family.

Lawrence E. Flavin
Lawrence E. Flavin, 77, of Elgin and former 25 year resident of Carpentersville, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born in Somonauk, IL on March 23, 1925. He was the son of Edward and Charlotte Flavin. Mr. Flavin was employed by The Town & Country Shopping Center in Elgin. He was a former 29 year employee of American Brush Co., a former employee of School District #300 and the School District U-46 Planetarium. He was a member of the American Turners. He was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran.
He is survived by his five children, Gail (David) Benner of Elgin, Meta (William) Garand of Fox River Grove, Edward of Algonquin, Kathleen (Ron) Vermillion of Crystal Lake and Michele (Larry) Faulk, stationed at the Scott AFB, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two step great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene (Jim) Arcaro of Lombard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marie Neumann Flavin on November 13, 2001. They married on July 24, 1947. Also preceded by a brother, William and a sister, Mary Ellen Willis.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-9:00 P.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Charlotte E. Lux
Charlotte E. Lux, 78, of Elgin passed away Monday, June 10, 2002 in her home. She was born March 29, 1924 in Germany, and was the daughter of Gustov and Anna Brieger. Resident of Elgin for many years. She had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory.
She is survived by six children, Angelika (Trevor) Bauman of South Elgin, Adelheid Kelly of Crystal Lake, IL, Sigrid (Jesse) Hickey of Colemont, TN, Barbara (Roland) Torok of Kingston, IL, Charlotte (Don) Traver of Melbourne, FL and Alfred (Annette) Lux of Elgin, IL; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; also a sister, Lucia (Berthold).
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred in 1980; a son, Edmund in 1952 and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2002 at 1:30 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee, IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 from 5-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

Doris H. Beckus-Reed (nee Gust)
Doris H. Beckus-Reed (nee Gust), 93, of Granite City, passed away June 10, 2003 in Edwardsville, IL. She was born October 9, 1909, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine (nee Zettler) Gust.
Mrs. Beckus-Reed was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City, IL.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Deal of Rockton, IL and Diane (Daniel) McIntyre of Granite City, IL; five grandchildren, Kent (Merri) Deal of South Bend, Indiana, Michael Deal of Rockton, IL, Mark (Darlene) McIntyre of Granite City, IL, Tracy (Don) Cook of Granite City, IL, Lesilee (Bryan) Affolter of Aurora, IL; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Sara) Gust of Marshfield, WI, Florian (Carol) Gust of Marshfield, WI; many nieces and nephews; two stepsons, William (Therese) Reed of Naples, FL, Walter "Wally" (Vita) Reed of Ft. Myers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Renning A. Beckus and Walter Reed Sr.; six brothers, Max Gust, Jacob Gust, Martin Gust, Frank Gust, Gerard Gust and Francis Gust; five sisters, Sister Catherina Gerisina Gust, Anna Seidel, Emma Mews, Rose Ludtke, Marie McMahon.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City, IL with Father Larry Brunette officiating. A grave side service will be held at a later date at Thabor cemetery in Beloit, Wisconsin. Memorials may be sent to Holy Family Catholic Church, Granite City, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL.

Martha L. Boelke
Martha L. Boelke, 87 of Chatham, Massachusetts formerly of Elgin, IL passed away Monday, June 9, 2003 at Cape Cod Hospital. She was born May 31, 1916 in Evanston, Illinois the daughter of Charles w. and Elfrieda Bruhnke Pagel. She had been employed by Lochner's Pharmacy and then Munch's Pharmacy in Elgin before retiring. She had been a resident of Elgin for 40 years before moving to Chatham in 1989.
She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin where she served on the Sanctuary Guild and St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Harwich where she belonged to the Esther Circle and served on the Altar Guild.
Surviving are her two daughters, Karen (Tom) Oswald of Kouts, Indiana, Marcia (Robert) Harris of Chatham, Massachusetts; two sons, Robert (Sandi) Boelke of Geneva, IL, Arthur (Rose) Boelke of Charlotte, NC; a stepson, Albert B. (Bonnie) Boelke Jr. of Waldorf, Maryland; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; one sister, Annamae (Paul) Butzen of Northbrook, IL; one brother, William Pagel of Wauconda, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert B. Boelke Sr. in 1988; one sister, Adele Pagel; and one brother, Carl Pagel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1111 Van St., Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Elgin or Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center, Cape Cod Hospital, 27 Park St., Hyannis, Massachusetts 02601. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Jayne Chandler
Dorothy Jayne Chandler, born Sept. 10, 1919, formerly of Elgin, IL passed away April 30, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Vernon Chandler; and brothers, Ernest, Robert and Walter Gilomen.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Sandy) of Salt Lake City and Dale (Beth) of Indianapolis, IN; and four grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Jason and David.
Interment at the Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
A reception celebrating her life will be held Friday, June 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Love, 2037 South Street, Elgin. All who knew her are welcome to attend.

Harold L. Garbrecht
Harold L. Garbrecht, 68 of Elgin passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born July 2, 1934 in Elgin the son of August and Beatrice Garbrecht. He had been a resident of Elgin all his life. He was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1953. He had been employed by St. Paul's United Church of Christ as custodian before retiring in 1999. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristi (Michael) Rieck of Elgin, Lori (Phil) Alcantara of Barstow, California; two sons, Ronnie Garbrecht of Elgin, Scott (Pamela) Garbrecht of South Elgin; six grandchildren, Courtney, Phillip, Jessica, Brandon, Erika and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Riley Nicole; two sisters, Barbara (Lee) Perry of Goreville, IL, Evelyn (Paul) Steele of Elgin; one brother, Ralph (Karen) Garbrecht of Danbury, Wisconsin; his former wife, Carol L. Wilemon of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jonathon Alcantara.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be private in Dundee Township East cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
