Margie Tolley
Margie Tolley, 67, of Elgin passed away Friday, June 15, 2001 in Manor Care Health Services, Elgin.
She was born Feb. 4, 1934 in Elgin, the daughter of Albert and Louise WardTolley.
She was an office manager for Ackemann's Department Store in Elgin for many years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn (William) Ballard of Texas and Marie Siegfort of Crystal Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; and a brother.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday in the Laird Funeral Home, the Rev. John Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kane County Baptist Church in South Elgin or to the family.
Thomas A. Berger
Thomas A. Berger, of 2324 Craycroft Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80920, passed away after a fight with leukemia on June 12, 2002 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on March 15, 1949 to Lowell and Audrey (Searer) Berger in Elkhart, IN. Tom married
Jean Parks on April 26, 1969.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael D. Berger and wife Sharon of Elgin, IL; a grandson, Kaleb Thomas Berger who will be born in August; he is also survived by his parents of Elkhart, IN and two brothers, George and his wife, Diann of Mishawaka, IN and Mark and wife Fran of Elkhart, IN; his mother-in-law, Edith Parks of Goshen, IN and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tom graduated from DeVry University in Chicago, IL and then served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed a career in the communications industry for many years and was employed at Genesys Conferencing in Denver, CO.
Tom was a warm, caring and loving man and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Dunlap United Methodist Church, 23674 U.S. Highway 33, Elkhart, IL. Frances Stumme Diehl
Frances Stumme Diehl, 77, of Elgin. passed away Thursday, June 13, 2002 at home. Born November 29, 1924 in Mechanicsville, PA, the daughter of Willis and Lucy Wells Beck.
Born and raised in Bucks County, PA. She married
Edmund Stumme in 1953 with whom she co-founded A to Z Rental in 1954. She was a homemaker for many years prior to becoming a Certified Travel Consultant with American Express. Traveled extensively throughout her career and in retirement. married Richard Diehl in 1995. She had a life long dog affection and enjoyed sewing and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Diehl; two daughters, Beverly Forster of OR, Linda (Anthony) Rusenovich of Elgin; a son, Phillip Stumme of Elgin and six grandchildren, Aviel, Serena, Paula, Michael, Jana and Robert.

Catherin R. Kilikevice McGowan "Cathy"
Catherin R. "Cathy" Kilikevice McGowan, 43, of Elgin, former many year resident of Carpentersville died Friday, June 14, 2002 at Sherman Hospital after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Cathy was a life long resident of the Elgin-Carpentersville areas. She was a 1976 graduate of Irving Crown High School. She was a hairstylist and nail technician in the area for many years and was a former employee of the JC Penney Hairstyling Salon in the Springhill Mall.
She is survived by her husband of seven years, Norman D. McGowan, whom she married
on September 11, 1994; her parents, Robert and Trudy Kilikevice of Mountain Home, AK; three sisters, Maria (Jim) Bulinski of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Barbara DiGregorio of Spring Valley, California and Carolyn (Steve) Linenberger of Omaha, Nebraska; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Cathy was greatly loved by many will be missed very much.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-9 P.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dawn Ann Danielson-Mullin
Dawn Ann Danielson-Millin, 46, of Rose Hill, Kansas died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born in Evanston, IL on September 20, 1956. Prior to moving to Kansas, Dawn was a long time resident of Carpentersville. Dawn graduated from Dundee Community High School in 1974. Dawn worked as a para-professional for the Butler County Board of Education in Kansas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Randy. They married
on October 28, 1978; her daughter, the light of her life, LeighAnn of Rose Hill, Kansas; her father, Allan (Grace) Danielson of Huntley; a sister, Diane Danielson-Montgomery of Elgin; her nieces, Stephanie and Kimberly Montgomery of Elgin. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Ann (nee Oswald) Danielson in 1999; by her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her canine companion, Panda.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, at 10 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Diane Phelps McGuire
Diane Phelps McGuire, 54, of Elgin and formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born August 26, 1948 in Belvidere, the daughter of Arnold and Betty (nee Bakley) Phelps.
On June 23, 1979, she married
Thomas McGuire in Hampshire, IL. She had been employed at the Elgin Mental Health Center for 29 years, currently serving as administrator. Activities she enjoyed were ceramics, gardening and journaling.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dr. Thomas McGuire of Elgin; her two children, Patrick Phelps McGuire and Allison Jane McGuire both of Elgin; her parents, Arnold and Betty Phelps of Marengo; a brother, Arnie Phelps Jr. of Marengo; a sister, Jane Sue Phelps (Donald) Zielinski of Huntley; her mother-in-law, Margaret Jane (the late Thomas) McGuire; three brothers-in-law, Kevin (Nancy) McGuire, Michael (Linda) McGuire and Timothy (Una) McGuire; two sisters-in-law, Mary Pat McGuire and Monica (Michael) Hanvelt; two special aunts, Eleanor Phelps and Bessie Piske; three nieces, Sarah Jane Phelps, Jennifer Diane Zielinski and Jessica Jane Zielinski; a nephew, Daniel John Zielinski; and many other nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her father-in-law; and four special uncles, Bill Phelps, Jim Phelps, Ed Piske and Timer Bakley.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway (Rt. 20), Marengo.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, 320 E. Washington St., Marengo with Pastor John Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Harmony cemetery.

John F. Boufford Jr.
Pastor John F. Boufford Jr., age 56, of 2333 N. Sumac Dr, Janesville, WI, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Chicago on October 3, 1947, the son of John F. Sr. and Leota (Harper) Boufford. John married
Mary E. Zimmerman on August 23, 1969 in Greenville, IL, and served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force including 18 months in Vietnam. He graduated from Trinity College. Deerfield, IL, in 1978. He served as Pastor at Westlawn Free Methodist Church in Chicago, and Sterling Free Methodist Church in Sterling, IL, and most recently at First Free Methodist Church in Janesville, WI, before retiring in 1995. He was currently an active member of Faith Community Church.
John is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, John F. Boufford III of Seattle, WA, and Mark (Tammy) Boufford of Janesville; parents, John and Leota Boufford of Janesville; two sisters, Lynn Brookside of Escondido, CA, and Marcia (David) Thomas of Elgin, IL; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Faith Community Church with Pastor Jeff Williams and Pastor Sean Christensen officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Community Church.

Lester L. Irby
Lester L. Irby, 89, of Elgin passed away Sunday, June 13, 2004 in his home. He was born January 25, 1915 in Arkansas, the son of Nealey and Nellie Cornwell Irby. He had been a resident of Elgin for the past 12 years. He had been a self employed carpenter before retiring.
Surviving are three children, Mary Parks and Ilona Burton both of St. Charles and Larry (Marlin) Irby of Elgin; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Irene; his second wife, Ethel; a son, Arthur Irby; two granddaughters, Ronica and Melissa; two brothers; and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 17 at 1:30 PM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
Beulah M. Larkin
Beulah M. Larkin, 103, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Elgin, died Friday, June 11, 2004.
Miss Larkin was born April 21, 1901, in Elgin, the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Sutton) Larkin. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Palm Coast, FL and the American Association of University Women. Beulah enjoyed reading, music and the arts.
She is survived by a nephew, Peter Larkin of Palm Coast; three nieces, Terry Nicks of Colorado Springs, CO, Loree Frisch of Pasadena, CA and Alice Graziani of Grosse Ile, MI.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 19, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin, with Fr. Edward Seisser, officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Memorials may be made in Beulah's memory to the charity of one's choice.
James "Jay" G. McManus
James "Jay" G. McManus, 58, of Carpentersville died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1946 in Chicago and was a 46 year resident of the area, and a 1964 graduate of Dundee Community High School in Carpentersville.
Jay was a pipeline designer and worked for various companies. He was an avid fan of motor sports and enjoyed board games.
He is survived by his children, Kristie (Don) LaRocco and Scott McManus, both of Carpentersville; their mother, Barbara Harris McManus of Algonquin; his grandchildren, Kalista and Zackary; his mother, Mildred I. (nee Soemod) McManus of Carpentersville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Bertram McManus.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Windridge Memorial Park cemetery in Cary. There will be no visitation. Please omit flowers; memorials may be made to the Carpentersville War Memorial Fund. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.
