Lillian M. Schneider
Lillian M. Schneider, 85 of Elgin passed away Sunday, June 15 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin after a long illness. She was born November 14, 1917 in Rockford and was the daughter of Nunzio and Rose (St. Angel) Ingrassia.
She graduated from Muldoon High School in Rockford in 1935. She attended Northern Illinois State Teachers College in DeKalb, IL and graduated in 1937. She taught school for 29 years; her last 22 years were for District U46 in Elgin.
She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, a member of the Elgin Women's Club, a member of three bridge clubs, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a member of a Parkinson Support Group in Elgin. She enjoyed teaching, traveling, reading and playing bridge.
Surviving are her husband, Robert J. Schneider to whom she was married
on January 12, 1947 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rockford; one son, Tim Schneider of St. Charles, Missouri; one daughter, Rose (Gary) Young of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren, Tim (Terrilyn) Schneider of St. Charles, MO, Reyna (Gary) Rothschild of Gerald, MO, Joel and Jacob Young of Freeport, IL; one great-grandchild, Cole of Gerald, MO; two sisters, Vita (Joe) Monti of Rockford, IL, Carmella (Leroy) Clark of Rockford, IL; one brother, John Ingrassia of Rockford, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lt. Colonel Michael Ingrassia and Reginold Ingrassia.
Funeral services Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Drive, Elgin for Mass at 11 AM. Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday at Calvary cemetery, Rockford.
Visitation will be on Wednesday in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 State St., Elgin from 5 PM to 8 PM and then on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for Masses to be said for her or to the Parkinson Association, 833 W. Washington, Chicago, IL 60607.
Clarence V. "Andy" Anderson
Clarence V. "Andy" Anderson, 83, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital. He was born August 6, 1920 in Huntley, IL and was the son of Nels F. and Esther Anderson. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 790 3rd Military Police "Red Ball Route" from Normandy to Antwerp Belgium.
He was President and General Manager of Valley Paint in Elgin for 50 years before retiring, member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an usher for many years and served on the church council, member of the American Legion Post #57 of Elgin, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #799 of Elgin. He was the director of Mac/Jac, and was a former member of Elgin Jaycees and Elgin Kiwanis Clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Kirsch) Anderson; two daughters, Cheryl (Arthur Harris) Anderson of Bannockburn, IL and Pat (Kenneth) Hamilton of South Elgin; three grandchildren, Sean (Laurie) Hamilton, Shannon (Scott) Berndt and Shane (Sarah) Hamilton; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Hamilton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Florence Bartelt.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of services. Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Michael J. Shove, 60 of Somonauk, IL passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born May 26, 1944 in Detroit, MI to William G. and Marie (Ouelette) Shove. He married
Helen Gray May 26, 1964 in Royal Oak, MI.
Michael was a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps. He was a proud member of the Marine Corps League of DeKalb and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL.
Funeral Mass Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, with Father Donald D. DeSalvo, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at Turner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Rosary services being recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Marine Corps League of DeKalb, IL.
Surviving are, in addition to his wife of Somonauk, two sons, Michael W. Shove of Somonauk, IL and Todd G. Floyd Smith
Floyd Smith, 76, of Bartlett passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Bartlett. He was born February 29, 1928 in Elgin.
He was the loving father, of Thomas (Donna) Smith of Huntley, Judith Smith of Bartlett, and Alan Smith of South Elgin and the dear brother of Virginia (Wilmer) Blietz of New Richmond, WI. He was the cherished grandfather of Kristen (fiance Victor Perez), Stephanie, and Kimberly Smith.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela (nee Spehar) Smith.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett, IL 60103. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home
Devin Cole Auwerda
Master Devin Cole Auwerda, 23 months, of Morris passed awayed Saturday, June 16, 2001 at home.
He was born July 3, 1999 at Morris Hospital, the son of David J. and Kelly R. Chapman Auwerda.
Devin enjoyed shooting hoops, scoring touchdowns and swinging a bat. His bath time was a highlight of his day, along with watching Bear in "The Big Blue House" and Elmo from "Sesame Street".
Survivors include his parents of Morris; his maternal grandparents, Ennis and Ginee Chapman of Burlington; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Barb Auwerda of Gilberts; his maternal great-grandparents, Dutch and Florence Vogel of South Elgin; his paternal great-grandmothers, Ina Auwerda of Gilberts and Betty Schule of Elgin; and three uncles, Brad (Jackie) Chapman, Ryan Chapman and Michael Auwerda.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2001 in First Presbyterian Church of Morris, the Rev. Robert Claus officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Friends may call at the church, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

Frances M. Dow , 86, of Port Charlotte, FL since September 2000, formerly of Elgin, passed away June 17, 2001.
She was born on April 24, 1915 in Springfield, IL.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bell of Port Charlotte and Donna Wells of Port Charlotte; ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two great great children.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard L. Dow.

Bernice H. Krepel
Bernice H. Krepel, 72, of South Elgin died Sunday, June 17, 2001 at Carrington Care Center in South Elgin.
She was born in Crystal Lake on July 29, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Herbes) Krepel.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews; Great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and a brother, Elmer Krepel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Kathleen; a sister, Rosemary Young; and two brothers, George and LaVerne.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Service at 11 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Interment will follow in Union cemetery in Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Minerva Legel
Minerva Legel, 94, of Algonquin, died Sunday, June 17, 2001 in her daughter's home in Algonquin.
She was born Aug. 12, 1906 in Roanoke, Ill., the daughter of William and Persida (nee Steffen) Rocke.
She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Congregational Church of Algonquin.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Steve (Carol) Legel of Bartlett; her daughter, Sandra (Oliver) Lindgren of Algonquin; her sister, Alvina (Aquilla) Fehr of Eureka; four grandchildren, Eric Lindgren, Erika Kettner, Jason Legel and Justin Legel; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Legel, whom she married
on March 6, 1935 and who preceded her on April 10, 1990; two brothers, Leroy and Elmer Rocke; five sisters, Lillian Gudeman, Amy Stoller, Leona Menton, Linda Fehr,Merna Weyeneth; and a granddaughter, Dori Lindgren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2001 in Congregational Church of Algonquin, the Rev. Richard Feyen officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday in the Wait Ross Allanson Algonquin Chapel.

Robert E. Nesler
Robert E. Nesler age 40 of Crystal Lake formerly of Elgin passed away Saturday, June 16, 2001 in his home. He was born November 18, 1960 in Elgin the son of Gene and Judith Hopp Nesler. He had been a resident of Elgin for many years and was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1978. He played Baseball at Elgin High School as well American Legion Baseball. He received his Associates Degree from Elgin Community College in Business. He had been employed by Brenner's Clothing in Elgin and McGrath Honda in Elgin for several years.
Bob had a passion for go-carts, building model cars, country music and baseball. His greatest loves were his daughters and his mother.
Surviving are his twin daughters, Stephanie and Lindsay Nesler of Elgin; his mother, Judith (Kenneth) Oakleaf of Waukesha, Wis.; his step-father, Kenneth (Jerri) Barnhart of Elgin; step grandfather, Eugene Barnhart of Elgin; tow sisters, Cari (Steven) Kaemmerer of Crystal Lake, Cindy (Charles) Alexander of Aurora, IL; one brother, Patrick (Joyce) Barnhart of Streamwood; nieces and nephews, Danielle and Thomas Kaemmerer, Ella Quentin and Jeremy Overton, Jason and Christian Barnhart and many aunts and uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; brother Gene Nesler, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Edward and Florella Nesler; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Eleanor Hopp; step grandmother, Esther Barnhart; uncles, Richard Hopp, Vernon Nesler and Marvin Boncoski.

He was born September 23, 1931, the son of John and Sophia Osowski.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Ollen (nee Simpson) of Elgin; a step daughter, Alexis Mapes of Elgin; a sister, Margaret A. Maack (Donald) of California; a sister-in-law, Betty J. Simpson of Elgin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Osowski; and a step son, Gregory S. Mapes.
